Midfielder Timonah Wanyonyi who left Gor Mahia in mid 2014, has confirmed that he will leave AFC Leopards and will be seeking a new club with a possible return to Gor Mahia.<\/p>\n

“My possible destination is either Gor Mahia or Tusker.”\u00a0 he said to goal.com<\/p>\n

He left Gor Mahia at the behest of his father, a staunch Ingwe fan.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe (Wanyonyi) was under lot of pressure from his parents to join Leopards.\u00a0 Although our rivals haven\u2019t contacted us, I believe they have sealed a deal (with the player) because he is moving on a free transfer,\u201d said Chris Omondi who was the Gor Mahia secretary general at the time.<\/p>\n

But his stay at AFC Leopards has been fraught with problems. It started on the wrong foot when INgwe bounced a cheque that was meant for Timonah<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is true that a cheque for Sh200, 000 given to me by AFC Leopards\u2019 bounced and my father was nearly arrested after he presented it to the bank.” he said at the time.<\/p>\n

Whereas he impressed at Gor Mahia, even earning a spot in the senior national team, he has struggled at Ingwe, getting little playing time.<\/p>\n

But Wanyonyi was a youngster at the time and has likely matured and learned in the intervening two years.<\/p>\n
