{"id":8171,"date":"2016-03-06T15:02:39","date_gmt":"2016-03-06T15:02:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gormahia.net\/latest\/?p=8171"},"modified":"2016-03-06T18:00:11","modified_gmt":"2016-03-06T18:00:11","slug":"gor-mahia-lose-mashemeji-derby","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gormahia.net\/latest\/news\/gor-mahia-lose-mashemeji-derby\/","title":{"rendered":"Gor Mahia lose Mashemeji derby"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Gor Mahia lost 0-1 to arch rivals AFC Leopards.The goal that seperated the two sides came in the 82nd minute<br \/>\nAdditional reporting from goal.com<br \/>\nGor Mahia&#8217;s 35 match unbeaten run in Kenyan Premier League was brought to an end on Sunday as bitter rivals AFC Leopards downed the champions courtesy of Lamine Diallo goal.<\/p>\n<p>The fifteen times Kenyan Premier League champions came into the match as underdogs following recent unimpressive displays, but they settled first as early as the second minute, with Lukas Indeche pushed into a fine save by Godfrey Walusimbi. <\/p>\n<p>It was a one way traffic in the early exchanges with Gor Mahia roaming freely in the field as Leopards looked confused, marshaled in midfield easily as Ingwe players were reduced to just spectators.<\/p>\n<p>In the 12th minute, Indeche was once again forced into a fine save to deny the dangerous Walusimbi with Ingwe forced to spend most of the time defending as the forward line led by Kepha Aswani could not find the way past resolute Gor Mahia defense.<\/p>\n<p>Talented but inexperienced Alfred Wekesa was forced out in the twenty eighth minute following an injury with Allan Kateregga taking his place, a substitution which changed his teams fortunes, and his effect was felt as early as the 32nd minute when he released a fierce shot which troubled Jerim Onyango, who eventually managed to control it.<\/p>\n<p>The first half ended with both teams balanced, as the goalkeepers played a big role in ensuring no team scored. In the second half, Gor Mahia started the match as they had started in the first half, however, this time round Ingwe was equal to the task.<\/p>\n<p>In the 68th minute, Kahata looked certain to score in the danger zone, only to see his shot hit a defender and bounce out to safety. This came amid substitutes by both sides, with Lamine Diallo taking Simon Abuko&#8217;s position, as well as Enock Agwanda being introduced.<\/p>\n<p>However, it was the former, who made the difference in the 80th minute when he converted a cross from the left to snatch all the three points, as well as the bragging rights for Ingwe.<\/p>\n<p>The result means Ingwe is on top of the table with ten points in four matches with Gor Mahia having only three points after same number of matches.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Starting XI<\/strong>: 1.Jerim Onyango, 5.
