The crowd was in applause and the players on the pitch obliged by mercilessly turning Tusker into whipping boys.

Tusker welcomed back midfielder Crispin Orlando whose role in midfield was expected to cut out the dangerous Rama Salim. However, before the brewers could settle in the match, Rama Salim punched hard with a close range header in the 3rd minute from a hard intelligent delivery resulting from a quickly taken short corner.

As has been the case since the start of the second leg, the combination of Rama Salim and Dan Sserunkuma proved lethal and frequently tormented the Tusker FC defense line.

In the 21st minute, Tusker had one of their decent attempts towards Jerim Onyango in Gor Mahia’s goal but a well drilled set piece by Joackins Atudo was poorly timed by Ken Wendo who missed target heading wide in the six yard box.

By the break Gor Mahia enjoyed a 1-0 lead and having won the first leg match at Kasarani, had a comfortable 2-0 cushion.

The start of the second half was disastrous for Tusker who found themselves trailing by three goals courtesy of two quick powerful goals by Moses Odhiambo and Edwin Lavatsa. Moses Odhiambo snatched the second for Gor Mahia ten minutes into the second half beating Samuel Odhiambo who was way off his line with a long range drive.

Four minutes later, substitute Lavatsa dispossessed Shikokoti and rifled a powerful shot that left Samuel Odhiambo flat footed.

Moses Odhiambo had another lovely attempt with a rocket shot from the 18 yard box that should have made it 4-0 deep in injury time.

With the comfortable win, Gor Mahia now qualify for the finals and will meet defending champions Ulinzi Stars who dismissed Sony sugar in the other semi final match. The winner of the tournament will take home One Million Shillings.

Tusker coach Sammy Omollo blamed his defense and midfield for failing to work smoothly.

“Our defense was slow and our midfield was not creative. Today was not our day.” Tusker FC coach Sammy Omollo said after the match.

Courtesy of michezoafrika.com Gor Mahia progressed to the finals of the KPL top 8 tournament in style after a thorough

[1

post-827","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-news
["GET
