The final score was 2-1.<\/p>\n<p>Various reports had indicated that Tuyisenge would be unavailable due to injuries. He must havepassed a late fitness test. The goals came in the 53rd and 88th minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Additional reporting courtesy of futaa.com<br \/>\nGor Mahia fought hard to secure a 2-1 win against a determined Thika United with Shami Mwinyi and Jacques Tuyisenge scoring in a highly contested match on Wednesday 6 March evening at the Nyayo Stadium.<\/p>\n<p>Gor Mahia had kicked off the match on a high with Rwandan sensation Tuyisenge who was making only his second start for Gor making the intentions clear in the second minute but a Sibomana freekick after he was brought down went inches wide. Samuel Mwanje was then fouled by Earned Wendo in midfield as Thika sort to have control of the match Collins Okoth won the ball back as he stamped his authority. The match turned into a midfield battle as Shami Mwinyi as Ronald Omino each won a freekick as they displayed their dribbling skills.<\/p>\n<p>Ray Omondi attempted to beat Musa Mohammed with fancy footwork but the defender was up to task and disposes him before Shami Mwinyi snatched the first goal for Thika after releasing a fierce shot that beat Oluoch between the posts from outside the box. Omondi was at it again after being put through by scorer Shami Mwinyi but Musa Mohammed made a quick recovery to deny Shami from making the deadly shot. Nzigimana then sent his shot to the terraces after great footwork before Agwanda, set up by Tuyisenge inside the box sent his shot inches off as Gor Mahia built momentum.<\/p>\n<p>Thika almost lost goalkeeper Hamuza Muwonge to injury as the Gor fans jeered him as a time waster out to snatch an easy win but he was soon up again with Ronald Omino shooting at him but he [Muwonge] easily collected it. Musa Muhammed mistake allowed Kennedy Otieno to set up Ray Omondi for a one on one but the flag was up for offside to send Thika into the half time mark on the driving seat in terms of goals.<\/p>\n<p>Gor Mahia made a double substitution in the halftime bringing on board speed master Francis Kahata and experienced Jacob Keli for George Blackberry Odhiambo and Enock Agwanda. Ronald Omino would then join the subs after being fouled by scorer Mwinyi Shami and was later rushed to hospital for the injury. Muwonge would finally get into the referees\u2019 books for time wasting together with teammate Timothy Luda who was immediately then subbed as well. Rwandan import and most expensive player in the Kenyan Premier League then equalized in the 54th minute after bundling the ball home from close range after some great interplay with Francis Kahata.<\/p>\n<p>The goalkeeper would then get a second booking and send off after fouling Tuyisenge in full fright forcing James Nandwa to introduce substitute Eliud Emase. Tuyisenge gave the new goalkeeper the first test with a dipping shot but Kahata sent the resultant corner straight to Emase.<\/p>\n<p>Nzigimana then tactfully crossed to Tuyisenge in the 88th minute sending the Thika defenders to the wrong direction with the latter heading in powerfully into the net for the second goal and the winner.
