This match comes only a few days after Kogalo beat Ulinzi secure the KPL top 8 tournament. Gor Mahia will now be seeking to avenge the first leg defeat they suffered.

Ulinzi have been going through a dry spell that has seen them go winless in three games. The primary reason for this has been their blunt forwardline led by former Kogalo player Wycliff Ochomo and Anthony Nderitu. “The truth is we have been creating a lot of chances as a team but let down by lack of finishing power. We have worked hard to correct this. We believe today, the fruits will be evident,” coach Michael Simiyu told the Standard.

Gor Mahia will also have to find away around Ulinzi’s stifling game which effectively cut off the supply of passes from midfield to attack.

Gor Mahia for their part have also not been convicing in the past three games. Coach Logarusic has attributed this to fatugue caused by playing four games in 20 days. Gor Mahia will however be encouraged by the imperious form of Jerry “Jagoal” Onyango who has been rock solid between the posts. So good has he been that all three coaches at Gor Mahia have said he deserves a national team call up. And since new Harambee Stars coach Henri Michel has been watching Kogalo matches and attending training sessions, it should only be a matter of time before “Jagoal” is called into the national team.

Also encouraging is the recent form of the towering Ivan Anguyo and the versatile Anthony Akumu who has been rounding back to the form that saw him earn a trial in Denmark 2 years ago as well as Edwin Lavatsa who is back in form after a long injury layoff. Moses Odhiambo when healthy has been in superb form. He should supply key passes to Dan Sserunkuma and Rama Salim whose form this year has been reminiscent of Abbas Magongo circa 1985.

Pablo Njuguna is out with a knee injury. He will be replaced by Ali Abondo as Gor Mahia seek to extend their 17 match unbeaten streak.

.

Gor Mahia will face off with Ulinzi on Wednesday night in a top billed Kenya premier league match at City

[1

post-887","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-news
["GET
