Gor Mahia go down to Kariobangi Sharks 4-3

Post by faraja »

Gor Mahia succumbed to a second succesive defeat in the 2020-2021 FKF premier league, going down 4-3 to Kariobangi Sharks
Kenya Premier League defending champions Gor Mahia suffered their second successive loss after going down 4-3 against Kariobangi Sharks on Sunday afternoon.

Gor, who announced a new coach earlier in the day, went into the match on the back of a 2-1 defeat in the hands of Tusker last time out, but could not bounce back against the slum boys.

Sharks got off to a perfect start and took a fifth-minute lead Erick Kapaito and never looked back.

Gor however replied in the 14th minute as Clifton Miheso equalised, but it only lasted four minutes as Daniel Sakari doubled their lead.

Kapaito then extended Sharks' lead with his second of the day in the 37th minute, which gave them a 3-1 lead going into the break.

Gor however came back a changed side and pulled one back in the 52nd minute through John Macharia, setting them on the path to an unlikely comeback.

Geoffrey Ochieng then equalised in the 66th minute but John Chol Kuol grabbed the winner for Sharks with 12 minutes to go.

The loss was Gor's second of the season in three games, and they remain 16th on the log but have four matches at hand.

Another PHD (Pretty Huge Defeat).
The new normal for Kogalo under the stewardship of "graduates".

EC have again rushed to bring in another foreign coach but have we sorted out the basics.
1) Have the players been paid their outstanding salaries and allowances or is the coach coming to face go slows or coach emancipated players and fellow TB like Pamzo did resulting in PHDs.
2) There is need to rationalize the size of the team and TB to get rid of excess baggage e.g there is no need for 2 goalkeeping coaches, 5 goalkeepers with the current financial quagmire.
3) There is need to engage a CAF qualified assistant coach instead just in case the Portuguese "jumps ship"
4) Rid the club of TM Jolawi who has been one of the masterminds of the sorry state of affairs at the club. This will enable recruitment of suitable local players and offload idlers, part of the 15, signed by Jolawi
5) As a cost cutting measure for now disband the ineffective, inefficient and corruption riddled youth project.
6) SG Ochola should restructure all GMFC affiliates, e.g branches, GMAF, brand merchandisers (and exploiters like Fan.001) etc to make monthly contributions directly to a players salary account to be operated with 100% transparency.
Anyone using the Gor Mahia brand must contribute directly towards the players & TBs welfare at say the now famous kshs.100 per month.
Kshs.100 per month translates to the club's membership of kes.1,200 per year.

Without paying the players everything else is a exercise in futility, total waste of time and money.
