The match was also K'Ogalo's last league game before the long awaited Mashemeji Derby
Record Kenyan champions Gor Mahia fired blanks in their second consecutive match after they were held to a barren draw by Bidco United on Wednesday 20 February at the Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos.
Going into the match, K'Ogalo were angling for a win in order to close the gap on league leaders Kenya Police FC and second-placed Tusker FC even as the title race continued to heat up.
The match was also K'Ogalo's last league game before the long awaited Mashemeji Derby which will take place on Sunday 2 March 2025.
Gor Mahia started the match on a high with prompt attacks looking for an early goal but Bidco were strong enough to prevent the defending champions from finding the back of the net through Charles Bbale and Samuel Kapen.
Both teams then struggled to get a foothold in the match with the battle taking place in the middle of the pack for both teams.
Bidco looked to threaten through Idris Amadi from the flanks but they could not find a goal in the opening half while Kapen was also guilty of squandering a half chance towards the end of the first half even as both teams settled for a goalless first half.
In the second half, Gor Mahia intensified their attacking gear in search for an opener but Bbaale missed from what were generally half chances.
Bidco almost took the lead in the 73rd monute when Victor Eshitushe whipped in a cross to the box which was met by Amadi but Kevin Omondi in the Gor Mahia goal parried the ball out of danger.
Gor Mahia introduced Gedeon Bandeka and Boniface Omondi to bolster their attack and find the much needed goal but once again Bidco's defense marshaled by Brian Okeyo stood tall to ensure that spoils are shared in Machakos.
The result means Gor Mahia remains third on the log with 36 points, five shy of league leaders Kenya Police who lost 2-0 to Mathare United earlier at
Bidco who are now on a 10-match winless streak are still in the relegation zone at 17th place with 19 points even as they continue with their survival fight.
