To accommodate the new arrivals, the club parted ways with five players, all of whom were local players.
Record Kenyan champions Gor Mahia have published details of their mid-season transfer activities following the closure of the transfer window on Friday evening.
After an inconsistent first half of the season, the club made six new signings to bolster their squad. Among the new recruits, three are local talents, while a similar number are foreign players.
To accommodate the new arrivals, the club parted ways with five players, all of whom were local players.
The foreign signings include Congolese goalkeeper Giscard Mavoungou, who joins from AS Otoho of Congo Brazzaville. He will compete with Gad Mathews and Kevin Omondi for a place between the Gor Mahia posts.
Cameroonian winger Patrick Essombe Ekandjoum is another foreign acquisition, joining from Sportive De Douala in Cameroon.
Ekandjoum, who has previously played for AS Kigali in Rwanda, made his debut in a Mozzart Bet Cup Round of 64 match against KSG Ogopa last week. His experience in East Africa is expected to help him settle quickly at the club.
The third foreign signing is Ugandan striker Charles Bbaale, who joined Gor Mahia as a free agent from Rayon Sports in Rwanda. Although he has already made a few appearances for Gor, he is yet to score for his new club.
The local additions include right-back Kevin Monyi, signed from Kisumu All Stars in the National Super League (NSL). Monyi, a former Western Stima and Tusker FC player, was brought in to replace Ronney Onyango, who is currently on trials in Denmark.
Midfielder Ben Stanley Omondi has been recruited from Kakamega Homeboyz and will compete for a spot in the attacking midfield. The club also signed emerging midfielder Sydney Ogutu, considered one of the top young talents, from Kibera United.
Benson Omala's signing is still pending International Transfer Certificate (ITC) clearance, as is that of an unnamed defender.
In terms of departures, the club has released five players, including midfielders Kevin Juma, Musa Masika, Enock Wanyama, and Sydney Ochieng, as well as young goalkeeper Dolph Owino.
Juma has already joined Nairobi City Stars, Masika has moved to Mathare United, and Owino is now with Murang’a Seal.
