Report from Mozzart Sports and Pepeta
Benson Omala once again continued with his brilliant start to the new 2022/2023 Football Kenya Federation Premier League as he bagged his fourth consecutive goal to guide Gor Mahia to an important 1-0 victory over Bandari on Wednesday afternoon.

In the match played at the Kasarani Main Stadium, the striker's seventh minute goal ended up being the differential as K'Ogalo bounced back to winning ways folllowing their 1-1 draw with Kariobangi Sharks over the weekend where they dropped points for the first time this season.
While the record Kenyan champions were left the happier of the two sides at the end of the full-time whistle, Bandari came out of the game with pressure continuing to mount on them as they were left winless in four games.

"We gave Gor Mahia an easy gift today because apart from the goal, we never pressured them at all when they had the ball which made it easy for them to see out the game. The boys have not pushed themselves to the levels that I know they can play and we just have to correct that," Bandari head coach Anthony 'Modo' Kimani remarked.
"It was an extremely difficult game for us and we knew it would be because of the side Bandari are. I am happy that we got some valuable three points because our enrgy levels were not really full after playing only on Sunday in another difficult game. Overall I am more than happy for the win," Gor Mahia's Johnathan McKinstry noted.

Stringing neat passes and exhibiting dominance their goal was to come in the ninth minute courtesy of a blunder from Bandari keeper Michael Wanyika. Midfielder Austin Otieno had weaved his way through the opposition box and while his tame shot seemed to be heading outside, Wanyika pushed the ball back into play to allow Lloyd Kavuchi to square the ball for hovering Omala who scored from close range despite pressure from the Bandari defence.

Despite going down, Bandari was not going to give up easily and had three glorious opportunities to restore parity two falling to Chris Ochieng who was to see his first attempt saved by Gad Mathews with his second, a header from an Atariza Meja cross, missing the target by a whisker. Keegan Ndemi was the other who was to see his shot sail wide.
With danger lurking, Gor coach Jonathan McKinstry made two substitutions in the dying minutes of the first half bringing on John Macharia and Boniface Omondi for captain George Odhiambo and Kavuchi to help his wing backs who looked overwhelmed each time Bandari attacked.
The second half was Gor time to survive and even though Bandari pilled much of the pressure, they rarely tested Mathews who was glad to see off his team win to maintain their unbeaten start to the season.
