Gor Mahia held by Bidco 0-0

Post by faraja »

Report from Pulse Live
Gor Mahia failed to close the gap with Posta Rangers in the Football Kenya Federation Premier table after a 0-0 draw against Bidco United on October 28, 2023, at the Moi International Sports Complex in Kasarani.

The draw is a blow to K'Ogalo, who have been trailing behind Rangers for a while now, and a win would have given them crucial points as they hope to retain the title in the end.
Wasteful Omala

Meanwhile, Benson Omala should blame himself after he failed to score from an open chance in the early moments of the game. The Premier League's leading scorer slotted his effort wide even after he had been spotted by Lawrence Juma in a good position to score his eighth goal of the campaign.

Kevin Juma, the scorer of the goal that gave K'Ogalo the win over Ulinzi Stars in a previous game, had his own chance to score, but his effort went out too.

Shariff Musa for Bidco United should have broken the deadlock, but after he was set through on goal by Chris Opondo, he failed to beat Kevin Omondi in Gor Mahia's goal.

Austin Odhiambo, who came on as a second-half substitute, was close to finding the back of the net in the 55th minute, as Gor Mahia looked lively in the starting minutes of the second half. Another chance for the giants came in the 56th minute, but Omala was unlucky again with his header as the ball sailed out inches wide.

The reigning Premier League champions kept fighting but were unable to turn their chances, notably the ones created by Boniface Omondi from the right flank, into goals.
Unblemished run

The outcome means Gor Mahia have maintained their unbeaten run against Bidco after seven games in the top flight.

After the frustrating encounter against United, Gor Mahia will now train their sights on Shabana, their next opponent.
