Gor Mahia held by Police 0-0

Report from Pulse Live
Gor Mahia missed the chance to go top as former coach Zdravko Logarusic's Kenya Police frustrated them into sharing the spoils.

Gor Mahia were unable to take advantage of Posta Rangers' slip as Kenya Police held them to a 0-0 draw in a less-than-enticing encounter played at the Kasarani Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

There was nothing much to write about the first half, with both sides struggling to create chances in each other 's half.

Kenya Police’s Francis Kahata had one opportunity just before the break, but it went wide of the post.

Gor Mahia’s first two opportunities to score came in the 58th minute of the match when Geoffrey Ochieng’s shot from distance landed straight on the palms of Patrick Matasi.

The second came moments later after they forced a turnover of possession, but John Macharia ballooned it straight over the bar.

Police boss Zdravko Logarusic decided to make changes to the side, bringing on Kenneth Muguna and David Okoth for Alvin Mang’eni and Francis Kahata in the 60th minute.

The changes made Police vibrant in attack and they nearly made them score moments after.

Tito Okello attempted a shot from inside the box that sailed just wide of Kevin Omondi’s goal.

However, both sides just never managed to outdo each other and in the end and had to settle for a 0-0 draw.

The result now means Gor Mahia remain second on 20 points, one behind leaders Posta Rangers, who also drew with KCB at the nearby Annex.
