Gor Mahia have accused Stephen Waruru of provoking traveling fans by making obscene gestures at them. And according to the TV report above, the incident was witnessed by reporters. It is also against FIFA rules to celebrate in an inflammatory manner. And it brings the league into disrepute.

Yesterday, Kogalo officials also reported that their team bus was attacked by unknown people. The club has also blamed Waruru “for provoking Gor’s supporters and making obscene gestures at the travelling fans while celebrating his last-minute goal.”

“It is uncouth and barbaric of Waruru to provoke our fans by using his middle finger to insult our travelling fans,” read a statement posted on Monday on social media pages affiliated to K’Ogalo.

But Ulinzi denied the claims, saying Waruru broke out in his traditional celebratory dance “which has always included pointing to the skies using his fore finger.”

“Nothing like that happened. Gor Mahia fans were simply annoyed that they conceded an equaliser.
“Waruru always raises his fore finger skywards whenever he scores and that is what he did and it is not provocative. A number of our players were injured so we have a meeting to discuss the issue and deliberate on our next move,” said Ulinzi vice-chairman Major Joe Birgen to the Nation newspaper .

If found guilty, the 15-time champions could face a number of sanctions including stadium bans for their fans, hefty fines, as well as docking of points as was the case in May last year.

What is not in doubt is that Waruru did indeed seek to provoke fans by celebrating in front of them. This is unsportsmanlike conduct from a footballer and KPL should take action in order to prevent players from provoking fans in a similar manner in the future. The action itself and the reaction it provokes from fans brings the league into disrepute, something the league cannot afford now.

It is also conduct unbecoming of a soldier and eyewitness accounts corroborate the claim. Furthermore such indiscipline reflects poorly on the KDF at a time when they already have a lousy reputation in some circles. Therefore the KDF should sanction him as well.

Gor Mahia fans only reacted after being provoked by Waruru. The goal itself did not cause a reaction after all Gor Mahia have conceded late goals numerous times in the past.

mwendwa will wait for four matches and deduct us points when we lead the table as usual and no action will be taken against waruru, mwangojea habari ipi ingine, lets continue with our draws and the league is gone, remember last season; a draw with ushuru, city stars and a loss to stima and tusker on both legs cost us the title……watch this space

    • This time round hajaribu.Ever since waslap Timothy Otieno Thika, he has taken no action. I will even take him to court my self if Rachier can’t fight for our players. They deserve respect.

      • I will never rest till Timothy apate justice. Av never seen a coach coming from nowhere and slapping a player neither ref nor KPL officials reacted including our own. Gor fans are also desperate coz injustice is being done but none come for their rescue. Nkt, this time round!!!!!! Namngoija

While Waruru deserves sanctions(If the allegations can be proven), Gor fans must also take responsibility for the hooliganism. After all two wrongs never made a right. Above all Zico must also take respobsibility for the winless run in the local league since he took over!!!

Musymo! Ayayayeee…. Zemaria went, your wishes were granted, now reap pole pooole, however bitter and this is just the beginning

Jakom macha ne puga. Had to go. Still does not mean we settle for mediocrity. Ze Maria was mediocre, Zico is mediocre. Wembe ni ule ule!!! Ngwech Sacco

  • Wuod Suba says:

Waruru should take the responsibility not Gor fans…
Where on earth that you are provoked and you don’t react?
Even if Mwendwa decide to deduct the points…Kogalo will remain forever.
On Zico, the earliest he is removed , we can be sure of top 8 otherwise no future…

I concur 100%. Thought efusi would snap him (Timbe) up but hear they’ve opted for Matano. I think with the SP sponsorship uncertainty we can’t afford Lwandamina or Rosa. No need to hire either of them, then fail to pay them after several months! Also Zico should be released, nobody has faith in him! Why is GMFC being deliberately kept in a financial quagmire? Secondly I don’t think that GMFC can be the only club in the world to be continuously docked points “again” for crowd trouble. Poland/ Ukraine, Muhoroni Youth, efusi were NEVER DOCKED POINTS. Our contemporaries KCCU(UG), Zanaco, Zesco(Zambia) and even St.Georges of Ethiopia are still in the run for a quarter final spot in the CAF competition while we’re we are fed cock & bull stories ati CAF is too expensive or our league calendar is a problem. Finally are assault rifles part of the first aid kit nowadays?

I don’t get it;Is Waruru the undertaker or Rambo.Blaming him makes no sense in this our drama club

    • Oduor12 says:

But what happens if that first aider with an AK47 “loses it” or “feels threatened” or “is provoked” and “acts in self defense”. IS THERE 100% GAURANTEE THAT HE WON’T USE IT? WAS HE COMING TO A SOCCER MATCH OR TO WAR (AGAINST AL SHABAB)? Surely is it standard practice to enter the field of play with such “a deadly weapon” in an emotional contact sport like soccer. FKF,KPL,OUR EC MUST NEVER SUCH TO HAPPEN AGAIN.

  • Wuod Suba says:

Who is this new coach? The profile is not clear…
Can somebody say something about him.
He was not even among those who were being mentioned…..

  • Wuod Suba says:

He is called Dayan Kerr from England. …

  • Wuod Suba says:

    Dylan Kerr. ..

  • Wuod Suba says:

This is the coach Kogalo is employing from tomorrow. .

  • Just read somewhere about some shortlisting for a coach that has now been narrowed to two nondescript pretenders from Italy n England with the announcementto be made tomorrow so says Ngala the Ass. Sec. Gen .
I hoped n prayed for at least a coach whose pedigree we could vouch for but I have since learnt to be disappointed without being surprised bcoz its very difficult to get an affordable quality European coach to come n be part of our mess that is not a secret to any casual football observer n what we are getting now apart from the inferiority complex that sometimes drives our choices are to most extent inferior to the Timbes n for crying out loud the first coach that ever announced Gor to the continent was one Allan Ogango wuon pap Thigo , but like we have come to expect , the new coach will come , we will forget that its the problem who has brought the coach , they will support him kiasi n then they will withdraw the support after which the online and offline hounds will be unleashed to frustrate him into submission , then the revolving door will start revolving again , and then again , and and then again until we sleep

  • moses says:

the Italian cosch;Maccopi;at least has a track record that is impressive;lakini huyu Simba fc reject hanifurahishi.

  • Baba Travis says:

We non Jodala fans at Kogalo are sitting back to watch this musical chairs of Jodala. Will Jodala allow any non Jodala to manage Kogalo?A big no!My suggestion to the EC is that they should hunt for another Jodala.Pamzo is doing great,Ken Odhiambo the list is endless. To pacify these blotted egos get us what we need. Not what the club deserves.Afro-cinema continues.

  • Here in Gor is where a coach come outside the field and slapped our Timothy but no action was taken but Gor players nor fans can’t do anything and go unpunished. I want the KPL officials to take action first to the coach who slapped our Timothy at Thika stadium and this Ulizi player na c tafadhali.

  • Albert Kosero - Sofaset Branch Kampala says:

I am following very keenly. Jodala there mouths are tied nothing (Jodala omako dhugu nono). As said up there, Afro-cinema continues.

For God and my beloved club – Kogallo

  • We have a new coach though it must go on record that i would have wished to see Zico to finish the season as our coach.

What we are suffering from is the England mentality of imagining we are great and yet we are at the same level as many local teams. Germany always builds its teams (managers and technical bench) with former players and the difference with England is glaring.

By the way my support for Zico is not about Jodala or Joloka but because he is a former player/captain and legend in our club.

    • OGANGO TRAILER says:

@ The villager i beg to support and concur with your opinion above, but let see what this foreigner can do. As far as i know the foreigner will come when we are on top of tthe table and we expect him to better the performance. If results do not reflect our expectation then of cause we will just do our thing kama kawaida.

    • jamriAmbo says:

My support for him is pegged on his performance. He was a great player, but has miserably failed as a coach. If you talk of legends then: Bobby, Pumzo,Korea, Dawo, Makamu, Jua kali,

  • Omonddi says:

I am extremely happy and my source of happiness are numerous and varied.

First, ZICO is out as GMFC Head Couch. But beware, in management terms he may be the most dangerous person in your bench as an assistant couch.

I am happy that KERR has come and bothered about his qualifications or track record blah blah because IF he performs we are the one who will defend him all through he is sacked
I will equally be happy if he doesn’t perform because he will give us chance to continue with our trial and error.
