Gor Mahia fans will on Saturday 28 January get a chance to interact with their favourite stars as the club will be holding an interactive and all inclusive open day at City Stadium.

The club will also be unveiling the entire squad of players expected to represent the team in 2012 when the team will be taking part in the CAF Confederations Cup, KPL Top 8, President’s Cup and the league.

Lots of fun

According to the club’s Secretary General Mr. George Bwana, the day is expected to provide lots of fun for the team, the entire Gor Mahia fans fraternity and lovers of football in the country as there will be a lot of entertainment and the fans will also get an opportunity to interact closely with the players and ask them any questions.

-We have new players in our squad and some who were here with us last season; we will be presenting all of them to the fans on Saturday 28 January so the fans can give them their blessings as we head to the 2012 season.

Breaking the barrier

-The open day will an all inclusive affair, we expect fans from across the football divide to bring along their families and friends to mingle freely with our players. Most fans just see these players on television but on the day we want to break the barrier that separates players from fans.

-Everyone will be free to get close to the players, take pictures with them, ask questions, present autographs for signing and all because we know these are the people who make the club what it is and put us where we are. They are a very important part of the club, he said.

Huge fanbase

Gor Mahia is famed as one of the oldest clubs in the country and also the one with the biggest and most vocal following in the country and this event presents them with the opportunity to show their love for the team.

Brilliant idea. A similar arrangement should be made for fans to mingle with the Gor Mahia executives and even our legendary stars of yesteryears with the objective of raising the KES 60M plus required this season!

with these kind of initiatives 60m ain’t a pipe dream anymore.Gor Mahia fans can achieve this target and more.you only need to put results(wins) on the table.

Hongera mashemeji, Sisi wanaingwe twawatakia kila laheri, Maana msimu ujao tutakopokua tukizunguka bara la afrika, twajua mutatuunga mkono. Please ignore Mla ndege, He is the Prodigal son of AFC, He caused chaos in Mumias as we played against THIKA UNITED, I hope He does not carry his poor and primitive manners to SOFAPAKA. He will come back home one day a reformed MAN.

These are fantastic, creative and productive ideas that will not only raise funds rapidly but also give us fans the feeling of belonging.

It is this kind of development that makes a club of GM Class progressive.

The EC should just improve on seriousness of managing funds accruing from these initiatives and sooner fundraising gatherings shall be things of the past.

  • Time and again , I advocated for these kind of ideas to be embraced in GM but to no avail. I thank the Almighty God that we now have an Executive Committee that thinks and acts on excellent ideas. We are fully behind you but you must assure us (THE FANS) that funds so raised for GOR MAHIA will be utilized for the purpose so assigned, (THE TEAMS WELFARE) Lets we forget, the TEAM needs a whooping Kenya shillings. 60 Million to properly and effectively participate and even win the CAF CUP. We (THE FANS) must therefore be very vigilant that money so raised for the Team (GOR MAHIA) is not pilfered or misappropriated. I beg to move this motion Mr. Speaker Sir.
