Gor Mahia beat Ghana National team

Ezekiel Odera celebrates after scoring the match opener

Showing shades of grand old days when the mighy Gor Mahia towered over African teams, Gor Mahia today beat the Ghanaian national team aka Black stars that is preparing for the CHAN tournament to be held shortly next week by a score of 2-1.

New signing Ezekiel Odera “Al Catel” who joined Kogalo from KCB, made a dream debut scoring the first goal via a header. The goal was set up by another new signing, Moses Odhiambo formerly of Rwanda APR , whose right wing cross was brilliantly finished by “Al Catel.

Collins “Gattuso” Okoth netted the second goal from a superbly taken freekick that amazed the Ghanaians.  Ghana’s goal came via an own goal.

Keeper Jerim Onyango pulled off several spectacular saves that kept the Ghanaians at bay. Ghana had earlier beaten another premiership side, Tusker FC

Great job ZICO and the Green army.Keep it up

  • I knew it! K’Ogalo plays the same brand of football as the Black Stars; even Zamalek would find it extremely hard to fire 4 goals past Gor, there would be a reply of the same score or more!

My admiration to this club cannot be compeled to any team in kenya.
To our dedicated fans, we are all brothers and sisters and we should embrase this attitude the entire season and champion our altimate course of total supprot.Mawe should not be used anywhere except during construction. VIVA GOR, VIVA KOGALO.

The game was beatiful, well coodinated & focusive but then let players work extra hard to bring trophy home this time round. To the Management we need a new jersey to be aveiled to the fans as this will as well raise more revenue to the club.

who were in the Ghanaian line up? Gor is a great team and I like the idea of getting new young players, bonding session before the league starts is a great idea. Is there a way i can order the team jersey online?

congragulations and i cannot wait for the season to start officially so that i can witness spectacular football from Gor, i can only compare them to Arsenal

Good show, but that was just a rehearsal for what is to come – the league. Shirt number 9 showed signs of good marksmanship; should be sharpened. He is likely to be the extra spear that we need in front in addition to Odera. How do we allocate shirt numbers? I was greatly disturbed by shirt number 25, that should have rested for a while while the coach looked for a real perfect replacement. What say you guys?

  • Ja Thur gi ji, Do not worry about No. 25. Moses Odhiambo is a great fighter and he is a utility player that can play in the flanks, midfield, behind strikers and direct offensive. He will help us to score goals and provide crucial assists. He works like a horse and this will benefit our club. He only need to add muscles and all will be well. He is difficult to mark as most of the times, he hides for defenders.

  • I dont like the Alcatel name..its cheap.
We should stop naming our players after products and strat being creative.
There are lots of Luo names out there.
I think the guy should be called ‘Pino’ that is wasp in DhoLuo.

Great team, great display, great game against ghana. i liked it and was so excited. there is an issue though. CAN THERE BE SOME STRATEGY WHERE FANS CAN FIND A DESIGNATED STORE WHERE THEY CAN BUY REPLICA TSHIRTS? AND THEN THERE IS A GROUP OF FANS WHO KEEP HARASSING OTHER FANS BECAUSE THEYVE PUT ON A “COUNTERFEIT” T SHIRT! whichever the case, the guy is a fan and he has spent money to buy that kit! its not his mistake! why shud i buy counterfeit at the same price as original if i know where to get the original? i believe there are noble ways to tacle the issue, and not thru harrasment and hooliganism.
