Gor Mahia boosted by returns

Gor Mahia will be boosted by the return of David Juma from injury. Juma established himself with a superb performance when Jerim Onyango was injured and even gave the seasoned Onyango a difficult time in regaining his spot in the starting line-up.

Juma, who joined Gor Mahia from Western Stima has been sidelined for over two weeks with an ankle injury missed.

Team doctor Dennis Omondi, the former Western Stima shot-stopper has fully recovered from the injury and resumed training on Monday.

The doctor further confirmed that the goalkeeper will be in contention for the eagerly awaited clash against the brewers.

“Juma has recovered well and is ready for action,” said Omondi to supersport.

Dan Sserunkuma and Geoffrey Kizito, fresh from their victorious encounter against Madagascar, were due to return to training on Tuesday. “Danni and Kizito are still away but we expect them to jet in today and join in training on Tuesday,” said Ouna to supersport.

Ali Abdallah, who joined Gor Mahia in the middle of last season from Coast United, is also due to return after a loan spell at Mumbi Nationale. We signed the player last year in June but he got injured in a friendly match and we decided to send him out on loan once he recovered, Ouna said to futaa.com

Akumu loaned to Sudanese side? What does that mean, and if so where is the replacement?

I think that is a good move for Viera. For player development we should not hold on to players indefinitely. In David Onyango we have Akumu’s replacement and we can still get one or several in the market. Currently our midfield has very many good players and so there should be no need for panic

Ma worry is our style of play, without Akumu we might find it difficult but for player development let im leave for a better future
