Gor Mahia dismiss Ushuru 2-0

Gor Mahia players put aside their issues to put on yet another good show. This time it was a clinical dismissal of Ushuru FC with a score of 2-0. Goals came from Innocent Wafula and Enock Agwanda.

Michael Olunga, who had two assists in the match against KCB, once again turned into a supplier, beautifully performing the spade work and laying on a brilliant pass for Wafula to score.

Enock Agwanda is quickly establishing himself as a high impact player whenever he is introduced as a substitute. Wednesday evening was no different. Soon after he came in for Godfrey Walusimbi, he won a penalty when he was fouled in the penalty box. he himself rose to plant the ball in the back of the net from the penalty spot.

Though Gor Mahia won, their performance was not as fluent as Sunday. They put KCB under pressure during the early stages with Olunga missing an early opportunity. But after Gor Mahia scored the first goal, it was Ushuru who did much of the attacking.

“The match did not go well. We made mistakes which proved costly and that was the difference,” Ushuru coach Ken Kenyatta said after the match.

The win extends Gor Mahia’s unbeaten run to 20 and shows that despite grappling with issues, the quality of the players enables them to overcome.

Yes the so called Sacco is simply riding on K’galo’s brand name without any tangible benefit to the club since “it is operated independently and professionally from the club”. Such rubbish.
It should simply have been called Lake Victoria Sacco or some other name coz why adopt the name Gor Mahia Sacco and only 100bob of the registration goes to the club. Adopt a player nonsense is discriminatory especially in a team sport like soccer.

The other sad reading (from the Daily Nation) is that the prize money was split 1M for the squad and 1M to pay for the joyriders bills to TZ.
Cecafa catered for a squad of 25 so who are these joyriders for devoured a whole 1M especially when the EC only contributed a paltry kshs.100,000 during the Harambee.
Congrats to the players/TB for this win which to me is even a bigger achievement than the CECAFA performance given the tribulations you gone through.

@Compressor stop insulting your fellow bloggers. Mwakio that was right response to Compressor but let us avoid insults. As bloggers, we are all happy that Gor Mahia won and let us continue celebrating over the victory. Police should identify the thugs that were involved in torching of the City vehicle and such act of thuggery and hooliganism should. Thugs and hooligans, suppose the car that was touched was yours, or belongs to your parents’, girl/boy friends, company etc, what will be your feelings and reactions?

  • We can as well forfeit the last 10 league games and still be crowned league champions.

  • Let the EC, and Police not allowed any Fans to match in GROUP after the games because it is this Matching that always gives the CLUB bad name of HOOLIGANISM.Let those who want to celebrate go round the Stadium as many lapses as they can and then everyone goes his own way not as gGroup. About the Bread if one day sales is 170,000 x30 days= 5,100,000.00.It’s up to the People in the leadership of the Club to clear the Air?

Fellow followers of Kogalo Mahono, i think on club management i would agree with akina compressor, though his language may be harsh, but suggestions have offered by many, but implementation has been….., merchandise, why has is not been streamlined to earn something for the club, gate collections everybody knows what is happening, and without accountability few will put their money in the club, see how the Tanzanian clubs are outdoing us coz of accountability, but if we can regulate ourselves honestly, then merchandise and membership can take us far, even sponsors will stumble over themselves trying to associate with Mighty Mahono.

I have said it since way back,as long as there is no accountability, which is a cancer that the EC suffers from,we are doomed to fail financially.
No updates on the bread project, gatecollections, harambees, personal donations from Rail and company…name it.And when there is a fundraiser you expect goodwill from the fans….it can’t work that way!!
