Gor Mahia set for Tuesday friendly

Gor Mahia are set to play a friendly against third tier side Mumbi nationale on Tuesday April 29. This according to futaa.com. The match will be used as preparation for the Tusker premier league encounter with SoNy Sugar on Saturday May 3. I want to prepare my boys well ahead of the weekend assignment against Yatta Combined and I’m therefore very happy Gor accepted to play against us, Akwana told futaa.com

Gor Mahia have received a boost as Anthony Akumu and David Owino, both of whom have been saddled by injuries resumed training according to michezoafrika. Innocent Mutiso who was injured by a rough tackle during the match against Muhoroni will be out for 1 month.

  • Following the Westgate attacks, many pints of blood were required for the unfortunate injured.
At first people were directed to go to Aga Khan Hospital to donate blood. Then they were later directed to other hospitals including MP Shah, Guru Nanak and Kenyatta National Hospitals.
In a commendable move, many Kenyans of goodwill turned up to donate blood, willingly and without charging for it.
Last Sunday morning, a crowd of Kogalo fans turned up at the Kencom Bus Stage to donate more blood. They did not care to whom the blood was going to be given and did so of their own accord, some of them having had no food at home and still willing to demonstrate maturity and come to the rescue of fellow Kenyans.
It was therefore, with great shock and disgust that we learnt that the blood donated at Kencom Stage by Kogalo fans before they left to their day’s football match, was thrown out. Discarded with so much as testing to ensure whether it was safe.
A source that chose to remain anonymous, who happened to be one of the nurses manning the tents told us that, one of the directors made a dictatorial decision to have the blood thrown away. One of the arguments that he gave was that there was not enough storage since too many Kenyans of goodwill had turned up, more than there was enough storage space for.
But what stung our anonymous nurse to come forward was the comments made by the members of staff as they chatted amongst themselves.
One member of staff was heard to say that there was no need of keeping blood which when tested would only be positive for various ailments and would therefore be a waste of resources.
“These people suffer from many diseases.” she remarked “Kwani nani hajui?”
The blood was not disposed of immediately, but we can confirm that not all of it reached it’s destination. An unfortunate event indeed, in the face of the calamity that all Kenyans have recently faced.Thats wea we av reached if this story is anything to go by

@Eric Jarae, looks like without knowing we are swallowing the hook and the sinker. Sideshows will not assist Gor. our target should be to assist Gor beat the other 15 teams and lift the trophy. We don;t want to open so many war fronts than the soldiers we have. Let those hearsay issues be just that.
Ever heard of the donkey which was thrown into a pit and when they tried to bury it alive by pouring soil into the pit it used the soil to climb out to safety.
That is what we shall do as Gor , believe me. Sulking and whinning will not get us anywhere unless we want sympathy from those pouring the soil into the pit.

To me that friendly may be unnecessary at this pointing moment but let’s just play so that the players can keep fit.

@2 Erico Jarae – I echo Dan Original’s sentiments that we need to remain focused to the issues that are directly affecting our team. The blood that was discarded was for all Kenyans and not only for K’Ogalo fans. It just shows how ungrateful people are in our country but this is Kenya so you need to understand. There are so many sad stories even for past elections, etc but we as Gor Mahia fans have learnt to ‘accept and move on’.

  • Kogalo will prevail, win the league and with the good will of us, fans, get a sponsor. Good things are on the way as this is the preparation time.

Let us put any painful act against us aside and get into the issue at hand, sort it out and move on.

  • I wish to ask this Q.Do our officials read this blog that we use to air our views. I dont think so bcos we’ve had very good views & suggestions but even a single 1 hav not been tried.Sometimes last wk somebody suggested that the EC 2 introduce seasonal tickets inform of cards .But nobody even tried that yet we need money.Assuming that we r remaining with 10home matches & we have 2000 cards 4 VIP section.if each card cost 5000/- that will be a cool 10m just from mainstand & only card holders

only card holders shud access the mainstand & even if it is the last league match, anybody hopping to sit in the mainstand shud by the card @5000/-. That will bring sanity in the club where u can bribe ua way in to the mainstand by paying a steward 50/-. Try these & stop being inept. Do this in conjuction with DTB bank & u will c true fans responding positively to purchase these cards.

  • keep the fire burning boys, as the kogalo fraternity, we are very proud of u n wat you are doing. as for the fans, we need to support the team financially at this crucial stage of the league in order to keep consistency and retain the league. lastly i hope that awendo can successfully host kogalo match on 3/5/2014 if not, it would be nice for the executive to raise the issue to avoid a scenario like last year.
