Gor Mahia sign Kipkurui and Ogweno

Kipkurui with CEO Aduda

Gor Mahia signed two players as they prepare for the 2018-2019 season which starts in about 35 days. The two players are striker Nicholas Kipkurui from Zoo Kericho and Pascal Ogweno, a defender from Kariobangi Sharks.

Additional reporting from the Nation
Gor Chief Executive Officer Lodvick Aduda confirmed that Ogweno and Kipkirui, put pen-to-paper to three and four year deals respectively.

Aduda believes Kipkirui will be a good addition to the Gor Mahia striking force if the 13 goals he scored for Zoo during the just concluded season is anything to go by.

“We have just captured Kipkirui who we believe is a top striker and will be a great addition to our striking force. We wish him the best of luck as he joins a team of several other talented stars,” Aduda said.

Ogweno joins the champions on the Bosman rule after he was released by Sharks two months before his contract lapsed.

The duo joins Kenneth Muguna and Shafik Batambuze who already reported to training on Thursday.

K’Ogalo are reportedly in pursuit of Bandari winger Abdallah Hassan.

“I am flying to Mombasa to seal another deal with a top player whose name I cannot reveal now and should be able to make an official announcement by mid-day,” hinted Aduda.

He further added that technical bench has already identified players who will either be dropped or sent on loan but this would be made public at a later date.

Gor resumed training on Thursday ahead of their trip to the United Kingdom to play English Premier League outfit Everton on November 6.

  1. jasego Kanyada what’s all these about?? So are they any better than anyone in the current For squad? Clifton Nyakeya saga is very much alive in our heads.

  2. Breaking… K’Ogalo have just made a shocking formal inquiry for former kogallo youth striker, coast stima and current bandari fc trialist striker Erick Ombija…more to follow !

  3. Are this the best around? What happened to the so called top strikers signed last season- Guikan and Mustapha.
I Will only be convinced we need this calibre of players once they perform.
Don’t you guys think we need a top keeper. Our current ones cost us a place in the quarters.
    Good luck experts.

  4. Gor appears to bank for future and would want to fuse the young and dinosaur blood. Gor wants to get players to train in their culture experienced players are difficult ?

  5. We are tired of winning KPl You saw even in Kisumu nobody was bothered to attend the ceremony. Gor needs player’s to win continental trophies. Training on culture? what’s the youth team for.

  6. Ade,mustafa or guikan should go.Among the strikers signed recently in Gor only Tuyisenge has performed, the rest only performed on the day of signing while taking the photo with aduda. We hope kipkirui will emulate his performance while at zoo but for the shark’s reject! I doubt whether he will get play time. Can he bench shakava,Joash,Mbish,Joakim,Momanyi?Definitely he cannot.

    1. @Odhis Muga, your judgement is too harsh on Ogweno. Let us tone down such kinds of comments which are healthy to the players.

  7. Above all kogalo need sharp keepers and good relationship with players also their allowance and wages in time, then Kenyans will see the defence.

  8. I pray that all the new signings were scouted and approved by the technical bench.
And I hope they will be able to deliver.kipkirui has been fantastic for Zoo,if he can translate that in Gor,then he will greatly help elevate us!!

  9. Tuwachieni TB kazi yao polepole, innocent akija watu waliropokwa lakini kinaeleweka sasa, mambo ya kuita Pascal reject na kitambi ndio unalea umoja hujui Lolote kwa mpira tuwache

  10. Release Passenger no.14(K.Omondi),release Guikan, release Mustaffa, release both Odhoji and Bonny, release Karin.
Loan Onguso,Lawrence juma,Bonface Omondi and Momanyi.

  11. Going into the 2019 season with Bonnie & Odhoji as our GKs is akin to fetching water from the lake with a basket/mosquito net. Even Odhiambo is at best “just an above average GK.” Matches are tight so GK blunders will be costly as we have seen in 2018.
