Gor Mahia take on Mathare

Gor Mahia will take on Mathare United on Sunday in a crucial Tusker premier league encounter. The league has reached its penultimate stage. There are only four matches left on the Gor Mahia schedule. And with a match in hand, Gor Mahia are one point ahead of Sofapaka who kept up the pressure on the league leaders by beating KRA on Thursday.

To secure the league title for the second season running, Gor Mahia will need to win 3 of their remaining four matches. On Sunday, they will have to play without dependable defender Musa Mohamed who is suspended. But Musa has expressed confidence that his side has the ability to prosecute the remaining matches on the schedule succesfully.

“We of course have respect for every team but what is important to us now is to work hard and get three points regardless of who is in front of us,” he said. “We must be strong in all the remaining games and that is what can help us win the title.” said Musa to the Star.

Musa went on to praise new coach Frank Nuttall for raising his sides fitness levels.

“Our physical fitness is good and I think we are in good shape and have lot of fantasy in our heads but should show that on the pitch.

However Musa and the other players would be well advised to forget about any fantasies or dreams and focus on winning one game at a time.

And as usual, the 12th man will be crucial in the last four matches, most of which will be played at Gor Mahia’s home turf.

“We have a good feeling in the dressing room and our fans are supportive out there too. That is the secret and the focus that we all have on what we want to do. That is what winning is all about”remarked Musa

Mathare United for their part have warned Gor Mahia that they will be no pushovers.

“We are looking forward for Sunday’s game that will be tough and interesting because each team is looking for a win so the match will be very tactical.

“Gor are looking for points to increase their chances of retaining the league while we are looking to finish above top eight,” Okumbi said to Capital FM.

Based on how Gor Mahia played in their last match against City Stars, Gor Mahia fans have every reason to be optimistic. And once again coach Frank Nuttall has had two weeks in which to instill his tactical approach and raise the fitness levels of the playing unit.

  • Guys, I saw Mathare training. Gor is going down! The Slum boys had crisp passes, quick to the ball and they looked very sharp and confident in ALL aspect. Mazee Gor is going down in this game. I predict by 2.

Let us all welcome @ingo back to the blog. He misses a winning team and he is deluded that Mathare will provide him with a win. He can no longer put his bet on AFC.

    I will Gor the best

A point of correction. Gor needs to win only 2 of their remaining 4 matches provided one of the wins is against Sofapaka. The game against Sofapaka is what is normally referred to as a 6 pointer. This is because the difference between the winning and the loosing team creates a 6 point deficit. The same goes for goal differences. The winning team reduces or increases the goal difference over the loosing team by double the winning margin. For example, a 2-0 win for Gor reduces the goal difference by 4!! Sorry for looking too much ahead of the Matare match!!

Even if we are beaten by Mathare we’ll be a point a head of Sofapaka. The Do or Die game is the one against Sofapaka, so long as we are not beaten by sofapaka we are still in the contention for the retention of the Cup. So whatever Ingo would really want to happen will not affect us much, but my main bet is that we can’t loose all the remaining matches in a row but Sofapaka can. Sofapaka can not and I repeat CANNOT beat Gor on 26th, follow it with AFC and Tusker respectively. I’m optimistic Sir!!!.

  • @# 9 Eric..If Ingwe came from two goals down to stun Tusker in the GOTV cup, then for sure Sofa can beat Gor, AFC and Tusker. Chochote chaweza kufanyika. By the way, Sofa can let Ingwe move on to the GOTV cup and then Ingwe reciprocates the favour when they play in the league match 🙂

All the best Team K’galo against Mathare who is 10th in the log.
Guys please understand Ingo saw Mathare no.10 training and compared them to his Efusi team no.12. If he saw no.1(aka numero uno/namba achiel kende) training he would be signing Gor Mahia praises and chanting “Gooor Timbe duto yuakni!”

  • @# 9 Eric…If Ingwe came from two goals down to defeat Tusker in regulation time of the GOTV game, then for sure Sofa can defeat Gor, AFC and Tusker. Chochote chaweza kufanyika. Sofa might decide to hand Leopards the GOTV game and then Ingwe would return the favour during the League game and then Walaaaaaa ….both cats win a trophy. 🙂 Chochote chaweza kufanyika

@Shem Otieno why abuse @Ingo an IDIOT? You have stooped too low my comrade as much as Ingo comments above might have irked your conscience. Guys like Ingo,Bill Watz,OMWAMI Omusila,Benson Disi just to name a few of our friends in the DEN who have been part and parcel of this blogsite surely deserves utmost respect just like anybody else. We need to be tolerant and accommodative despite our divergent view. After all it iis just a game of football that is suppose to make us socialize together and engage our self positively.

WELCOME BACK INGO. I WATCHED THE LEOPARD PROWLING ON THE HAPLESS THIKA UNITED AS THE ISUKUTI SONG AND GAGA DANCE THRILLED THE OCCASION. WE AS “Jo-NDIWA ” wish AFC all the best in GOTV and top 5 finish in the TPL 2014.

As for the TPL 2014 championship K’Ogalo’s destiny is within our own hands. And this competition is too close to call despite any match fixing and trading of points with the “CATS” family. I believe the will and zeal within “JO -NDHIWA” is very unstoppable.

Ingo @11 has already hinted at the possible scenario, the planned match fixing at the highest order. And he went ahead to say thus …..”Sofa might decide to hand Leopards the GOTV game and then Ingwe would return the favour during the League game and then Walaaaaaa ….both cats win a trophy. Chochote chaweza kufanyika”

As 4 KPL Gor remains the favorite especilly when u look @ Sofapaka’ remaining fixtures, infact Ingwe might be the ones 2 hand Gor the title by beating Sofa.
@Michael Odhiambo it might be true on Kasaya, ever since he was dropped Ingwe have found their footing.

@ingo, you can’t do match fixing at this time of the league otherwise Ingwe would be relegated if this is confirmed to be true. I know Ingwe will fight to the end to be among the top five finishers. Stop confusing us my brother. The log is for Gor Mahia to loose.

Omwami ing,why the envy?We started the league together, you bought the best players and the best coaches. You even moved some of your matches to the best playing turf in Mumias-among your people, and, now your team is fighting to finish in top eight. This is shame. If chingwe is jostling for number eight, where will Top fry and Bandar finish the league?Leopards should be up there with Kogalo. The troubles we have faced at Gor this year could have killed any team but not Gor.Consider the number of players we lost, luck of sponsorship and the ill will from the Shemeji quarters. In retrospect,Mumias Sugar are regretting why they chose to Sponsor you and not Gor.I am sure Mumias will join the green army bandwagon a head of Kasaya.I am glad to be back and you dear comrades

My bible says in the book of 1 John 1:8-10 that if we claim to have no sin, we deceive ourselves and there is no truth in us but if we confess our sins, God is faithful and just and will forgive our sins and purify us from ALL UNRIGHTEOUSNESS. It goes further to say that if we claim we have not sinned, we make Him out to be a liar and His word has no place in our lives.

Therefore brethren I am obliged to confess to our Almighty God that we have sinned by calling His creation, Omwami Ingo, an idiot in post 13. This is a sin which if not confessed and repented can cost us our game against Mathare. May I take this opportunity to apologize unreservedly, and unconditionally to Omwami Ingo for that uncalled for insult. Omwami forgive us. Don’t take offense. Dear father in heaven, forgive us. Do not extend your anger to our team as the boys do battle against Mathare United and in all the remaining matches. In the name of Jesus Christ I confess and repent, AMEN.

  • The truth with this year’s title run in, those who would like to see our title ambitions derailed and the reasons why! Efusi and Tusker FC are the two protagonists. Both are jealous of Kogalo’s continued dominance of the local League. The pride of opening up the gap on the number of League trophies amassed is a bitter pill for the 2 teams to swallow. Tusker has 10 titles while Efusi have 12 genuine titles though they have always paraded themselves as having 13 titles. They continue to award themselves the 1971 when the National League Championship was SCRAPPED. Bwana Disi, Wabbz and Ingo you have been informed and I believe you now know. So everybody, let’s wish Kogalo success to bring home title no 14.
