Gor Mahia to play Al Hilal in friendly

Gor Mahia vs Al Hilal in 2016

Gor Mahia are set to return to Sudan for a pre-season friendly. They will resume training on January 10. On January 13, the club will leave for Sudan where they will play Sudanese champions Al Hilal on July 17. This according to newly elected organizing secretary Judith Nyangi.

The Sudanese side are preparing for the Champions league where they are likely to play Kenya representatives Tusker in the first round. A match against another Kenya side is deemed as good preparation by the Sudanese side.

Last year Kogalo beat Al Hilal 1-0 with a goal from Enock Agwanda.

This will be very good for the preparation of the team. Such friendlies add value to the team and improve the confidence of players.

  • Is the coach back? I wish he got involved in pre-season from the word go and be on the bench when we play these friendlies.

Seems Marcelo has refused to sign a two year contract that was offered to him by AR.He insisted on a 6 month contract because he is,apparently, waiting for communication from an unnamed foreign club. The said club was to take him in for trials. He could be on his way out.Lined up to take his position is Maqbul Mohammed of Jericho All Stars and Simiyu of Muhoroni youth. These are just rumours friends.

Marcelo for all his brilliance has held Gor at ransom for far too long. We should not wait for him to wait for that phone call. Let him wait for it somewhere else. He has served the club well and should leave before fans turn against him. Simiyu from what i have seen will not fit into Marcelo’s shoes straight away but is good enough. This Maqbul is an unknown quantity but so was Marcelo at a time like this last year. With Sibomana likely to give way for Migi, no harm in signing both. And Walu has not forgotten how to defend so is our ultimate fallback!!!

I think the best thing is to let Marcelo go as we wish him all the best. He served as well. I wish he goes to ingwe or Tusker as he waits for that ‘call’ so as to maintain his profile. As for Gor we always unearth new gems . We had BB, Olunga, Marcelo , Kitawi, Wafula etc. With Maqbul and Simiyu on their way in we are well-covered. The challenge is that FKF might not accept Maqbul because he played in Super 8 tournament. Petty politics

  • This Marcelo boy has been adored by the fans so much that he thinks he is the only special footballer that gor has ever seen. We love him but at this rate let him pack and go. Kwani si hats akina Jehova Wanyonyi na Masika walidhani for was nothing without them. Hata bibi ukubembeleza Sanaa atakuinyesha madharau. But when you show her that you have unlimited options ata behave. Otherwise there is no mention of GK1, GK2, GK3, and GK4. Are they all continuing to warm the benches at Kogalli.

  • Marcello is being misled by his agent Nicholas Muyoti who is giving him wrong advice especially concerning the short term contract. What he doesn’t know is that it is GM who have made him to be who he is today. Eric is still a raw talent that needs proper polishing like two years before he can think of seeking greener pastures, but because of some mediocre wanna be agent who want to feast quickly on young ignorant players is the problem. But he think that he is already a star and want to bully GM then i would like to advice the EC to dispense with him like yesterday.

And Muyoti is an Ingwe supporter. Bad combination

  • Marcelo should just go,no single player understands the impact that Gor Platform offers in building one’s career until it is no more. It is being at Gor that made him upstage a still very good and impressive Aboud Omar in the national team as the coach heeded local sentiments of a player being seen day in day out impressing vis a vis one we only read abt. Nonetheless, he refuses to sign for two years with an exit clause expressly allowing him to leave should an offer arise since in that case the would be club Must negotiate with GM and reach an agreement, which it seems Nicholas Muyoti will hear none of so he should just go try marking time at Ingwe or Tusker, though we will always treasure his time at GM…

Jasego Kanyada, i value your mature analysis, we are having a lot of in flow and out flow, when will the required player to player compatibility occur? looks like the first leg is going to be more of practice matches. Do we have a first eleven or it will be trial and error like last year? Am worried? The coach is not even here to assess the preparations….when will we regain/acquire the rhythm? Lte in the second leg , when we will be langiushing in the mid- table? Look at AFC and Breweries, the coaches are busy at work

  • Maqbul is a very fine signing if true, and on marcelo, he should just be let go coz his mind won’t be settled if his agent is a die hard ingwe supporter. If we also manage to build a team early we’ll be tough this year. God bless Kogalo

Marcello as a good player must always remember that talent is groomed with a lot of discipline. Secondly an agent can actually ruin a player in pursuit of quick money gain. Between the two the player is the most important. I would therefore advice Marcelo to emulate Michael Olunga.

On Marcelo i think AR is playing too much of parent baby sitting here, the other day it was Abondo running as if SA was heaven, the list is endless!

Marcelo is too young to bully a person of AR’s stature and education, if anything he may just be heading to east europe..will soon be back heading to Kariobangi sharks of this country..if he is working to be a professional he must obey his present club..

We have seen a handful of such..let him seek advice from the likes of BB.

    I feel for him.

It hits hard but i want to say it here: Tusker was a head of Gor with six points at the end, Tusker caused Gor 9 points in two games: where did we go wrong? fans let us be responsible and never give another team 9 points come next season. That is my humble appeal to all

Yes fans might cost us the league again. The players work hard on the field and rogue fans ruin their work

Since Marcelo has refused to sign a two year contract, AR should just let him pack and go to wherever he wants. These are the kinds of players that the club should not waste time with as they think that they are bigger than the club. The club has made him but he does not want the club to benefit as well. Gor Mahia is not a club that will deny him to move to any club locally and abroad. If he thinks that he is a big star, then he does not know what his future holds or where his future destiny will be. We have seen such kind of mentally going to waste because of poor decision. The attitude of stardom will take this boy nowhere and he needs to look around at players like Masika PPO, Wanyonyi, Zangi Okello, etc.

Young lad you are making a grave mistake and very soon people are going to forget about you.

More Rumours…..Kogalo has reportedly signed Jeconiah”Jeco”Uyoga.Jeco plays for Technical University of Kenya(TUK)where he is a 3rd year Civil Engineering student.According to the same source,he is the reigning Sport Pesa super eight Most Valuable Player foe the second year running. He scores 26 goals for his team-the hammers-as they finished 3rd in the grass roots League run by Extreme Sports. He was on the score sheet when TUK beat Jericho All stars 3-1to clinch the inaugural Sportpesa Super eight Champions League in November last year.If the reports are true then mine is to wish him well and ask him to emulate Engineer Ounga.

Karim Nizigiyimana has renewed his stay at Gor for a further two years.

Teddy Osok-Midfielder has signed a four year deal.Teddy has rejoined Gor from Nairobi Stima. He is a product of Gor youth team.Just rumours.

    • @BB, Hehehehe Passenger 27,finally. @Admin please post the transfer update so we can argue, bash and praise as we wish. Its already on Futaa and SokaEast. I feel for Calabar Junior. He had the makings of a star. What may have gone wrong? ‘Softie is a good catch so is Maloba who is a player who can do wonders if nurtured in the right conditions. I hope this Uyoga guy replicates his form from the lower tier to the Premier League.

i think we are exposing ourselves to lawsuits by the way we are dropping players before their contracts expire. It also means that we are not or have not been recruiting intelligently. Usually you only drop 2 to 3 players but 10!!!. It means the team was as overstaffed as is the EC. The two keepers who recruited them only to drop them without playing. Hii upuzi I thought was only with @Ingo’s team.

Eric Ouma aka Mercello, has been released that’s according to AR. That he never showed any interest and was taking the club in cycles. So let Muyoti take him to AFC where he wanted him to join other than GM earlier. Thanks EC, do not entertain big headedness in the team.

Now that we have Muguna we seem to have a strong team. We now need cover for the left back. I read that Wanyonyi would love to come back. Looks like we are spoilt for choice. Only Mieno missing for us to have serious competition for positions in the team
