Gor Mahia transfer news July 1

Eric Ouma back for six months

Promising left back Eric Ouma “Marcelo” has signed another contract extension. But to the dismay of fans, the extension is for only another 6 months. Ouma has been the subject of speculation with reports linking him to arch rivals AFC Leopards. Other reports suggested he was due to leave for the USA on a football scholarship. He was supposedly offered a full scholarship by Lindsey Wilson, the same school that former Gor Mahia and Tusker ace Tom Odhiambo attended alongside Eric Ochieng “Cantona” in the late 1990s.

Ouma joined Gor Mahia from Kakamega high school this season. He has quickly propelled himself to stardom even earning a place in the Harambee stars starting line-up.

Chairman Rachier expressed his dissapointment at not signing a longer term contract.

‘Marcelo’ has proven himself in his position. He is a good player and we really appreciate his work so far. We wish he could sign for a longer term,”  said Rachier to the club site.

Crispin Odula joins Gor Mahia

Gor Mahia have signed veteran defensive midfielder Crispin Odula. The lanky Odula has for the past one year been playing in Finland for AC Oulu. Odula is vastly experienced. He first played in the Kenya Premier League 10 years ago (In 2006). At the time he played for Coast Stars. He was an instant hit and already had offers from foreign teams. After a few trials in Europe, he ended up at Al Wahda in Saudi Arabia before returning to Kenya to play for Bandari, Azam, Coastal Union (Tanzania) and later Tusker. Last year he joined AC Oulu of Finland.

Odula is seen as replacement for Khalid Aucho. He had initially been linked with a move to AFC Leopards. Rachier was happy to sign Odula who will add steel to the midfield as well as experience.

“Crispin Odula is a seasoned midfielder. He should be an asset in our attacking and central midfield. We welcome him to the K’Ogalo family.” said Rachier.

His listed date of birth is September 8 1989.

Khalid Aucho released.

Ugandan midfield ace Khalid Aucho who has been the engine in Gor Mahia’s midfield since he joined in 2015, has finally departed, thus bringing an end to the speculation around him.

Chairman Rachier confirmed as much.

“Khalid Aucho is leaving the club and he will not be with us in the second leg. That is why we have signed Kagere because we are safe as far as foreign quota rule in Kenya is concerned.” said Rachier to goal.com

Aucho is set to attend trials at Aberdeen FC in Scotland’s top tier.  This is the team where Sir Alex Ferguson first made a name for himself as a coach. In 2016, they finished second in the league standings behind Celtic.

  1. Crispin odula reminds me of jerry Santos. This are players way over their prime and would harldy feature in a full 90 minutes game

Nevertheless, for as long as aucho will be back and like somebody said…am not worried about nothing !

  2. If Odula performs it is okay. If he doesn’t, someone will be held to account. If it were in my power Wendo would have been given the nod to establish himself in that midfield alongside Gatusso/Kahata.But I am not the coach so I will support whatever Ze Maria decides. After three seasons with Kizito and Aucho that midfield is not the same for the first time. I pray everything will be okay but if there is wailing and gnashing of teeth for us Kogallo fans at the end of the season, it will come from that place.

    1. @Jakoyo if you haven’t seen Odula play then don’t cast aspersions here coz l have seen him play and he’s a powerful box to box midfielder with strength in aerial duel. lnfact many fans will be surprised with skills that the lad possess and that’s why Tusker/AFC were fighting for his services.

  3. This person is just that person ni jina imebadilishwa.aucho jowa aucho sokay sorait.it’s sad you are gone but all the best.am glad we have signed smeone though he must know there’s a caveat in it dependent on his perfomance.happy sabath aikra awuok.

  4. We currently boost of galacticos since we hv a mixture of both best experienced and best emerging talents in EA..so guys, cool down and lets do our part by supporting our beloved club

  6. Come babi come. Nyinyi wote mnakuja gor mujue ni lazma kucheza mzuri. la sivo muta sikia thuon weche kutoka funs. Nafkiri wendo at improv. Kuon bend Wendo okwongonegi. Ogogi mbi to giluar. Okbichalonegi.

  7. If he’s gud as those who know him says, how comes he has never featured for the national team like the Kahatas of this world. I believe that all Gor players r NTM players & those who have not featured have not done so bcos of proffesional players playing abroad. Lets wait & see.

    1. Osiepna, kwani u’ve forgotten that its Gor Mahia who tunes and nutures players for nationals teams i.e Harambee,Taifa Stars and Uganda Cranes. Don’t ask for examples coz the list is endless. Wish and praying for a K’galo victory today.

      1. Yes. Now that he has joined Gor Mahia, expect to see him in the national team……and not the other way round.

        1. Its easier for players kupata namba kwa national yao than kupata namba K’galo. You see Mighty Gor Mahia en INTERNASIONAL BUT DO I SAY and I forgot Burundi & Rwanda national teams. My apologies to Karim, Sibo, Luanda na Jausenge.
