Rachier and Ngala vow to win 2017 league

The 2016 season turned out to be a disappointing. Gor Mahia were presented with numerous opportunities but failed to capitalize. Club Organizing secretary Ronald Ngala has vowed that the team learned from its mistakes and will correct them prior to the 2017 season.

“We will not do the same mistakes as we did this season, we are going to give our best. Actually next season time like this, the trophy will be ours that I guarantee you. ” said Ngala to goal.com

Ngala went on to congratulate Tusker

“Yes, we have conceded defeat, the title has gone and we live to fight another day. Definitely we will give them (Tusker) a guard of honor, they deserve it, and despite the fact that it is painful, we will do it.

Rachier for his part faulted the fact that Gor Mahia accumulated 12 draws out of 29 matches.

“We had all the opportunities to win this league but we threw them away. We only needed to win one match in all these many draws to beat Tusker to the title,” he said to goal.com

Gor Mahia coach Ze Maria is adamant that the decision to dock 3 points from Gor Mahia which eventually handed the league to Tusker was unfair

“It is the first time I am seeing this in football. As a matter of fact, I did not know it exists, I saw it in Kenya. When a problem like that arises, there are many ways to deal with it, like playing in an empty stadium or hefty fines, but not docking points. I think it is something to be discussed.

Ze Maria also said that his side will give their all in the last match of the season.

“We want to give our best against them (Tusker), and finish the season on a high, that is our aim.”

Would have been better if Ngala gave us more than generalized promises like…..’ we have learnt from our mistakes and promise to give our best…..” Maybe tell us exactly what you plan to do differently next season to avoid the disappointment most of us who expect Gor to win titles every season are going through right now.

Very lame from Ngala(and AR) a very experienced administrator still making fundamental errors! lts seems vested interests override club interests.Current EC use competitions too achieve personal goals-engineered 2015 GoTv defeat to get rid of Frank Nutall again issue of money, 2016 poor show was to avoid CAF licensing and its financial conditions. They need one more year to milk the cash cow. Let’s vote out current EC since an old broom cannot sweep clean/put our house in order. AR & co. led EC do not even declare gate collections, even have codes of conducts for players, TB,lack of structures, financial accountability & transparency. They have’nt done it for 8 years in charge yet they had sponsorship and more important the goodwill. Even match attendance has plumeted.

We will win in 2017 . I have that belief. Even now nobody is talking about how Tusker won the league but how Gor lost it. Tells you a lot about our team.
As we are winning next year am not sure if AR or Ngala will be in office

We can win the league if fans behave themselves and do not cause point deductions

Beef up the midfield with 2 creative midfielders, get one more central defender and a speedy winger who can play both flanks. That is my wish for 2017.

How I wish we could get Paul Nkata as a coach – no tiki taka just simple football ideal for african players

Kogalo needs a defensive midfielder to play the role that Aucho and Kizito used to play. That is the missing component. Gattuso is good but unreliable

AR faults the many draws and he thinks we only needed to win one of those matches to bag it. On the other hand Ze maria faults the deduction of points which he has never seen or heard of in his footballing carreer. They are not speaking one thing. Signs of trouble?

Exactly, methinks Rachier is blaming Ze Maria yet he refused to resolve the “Gatusso Issue”.

      2016 league was deliberately lost.

J’asego, are you and the EC aware of this yet the likes of Ngala are only “yapping” (forgive me for using that term) about a league title after 8 years of being given the mandate of managing the GOR MAHIA BRAND.
Hence dear comrades let aspirants sign performance contract’s with the following minimums.

      FOOTBALL IS ABOUT WINNING TITLES.

MEMBERS MUST HAVE OUR MINIMUM YEARLY CONDITIONS BEING:
      GMFC must
      1)QUALIFY FOR A CAF TOURNAMENT,
2)REACH AT LEAST THE SEMIS OF ALL CECAFA WE PARTICIPATE IN,
3)REACH AT LEAST THE GROUP STAGES/ 3RD ROUND OF ALL CAF TOURNAMENTS WE PARTICIPATE IN,

HAVE A RECALL CLAUSE FOR NON PERFORMANCE. THAT WAY CHAIR CAN BE AR,CHRIS,DAN BECAUSE AT THE YEAR END THERE WILL BE A EVULATION.

      PROMISES WILL HAVE CONSEQUENCES.

I think just making the players & TB aware of the prize money at stake should be motivation in itself. Get rid of the excess baggage e.g four goalkeepers, non playing Brazilians & the Odula type signings, have a lean but effective TB. For reaching the group stages, assure each player/TB say at least 1m get my drift and you will see wonders. PUT FOOTBALL FIRST but your colleagues at EC would rather let vested interests prevail. Maybe another constitutional clause should be that 70-80% of any prize money MUST go to the players & TB.

Couldn’t agree more with @jb, we need a leadership that’s not only focused on domestic league bt continental. Leadership that we help GM grow as a team.if AR & his team had a greater vision, they would have made the team better by laying structure that would propel the team to status of teams like yanga, pirates. Imagine minus the trophies for last 5 yrs we still at par with our rivals in terms of structures despite enjoying a relatively successful & peaceful 5 or so yrs.we have a fun base like none other what we have lacked is leadership that would engage the fans in transparent, accountabl e & progressive manner

All the above factors led to us losing the league including benching crucial players at a time they were needed most plus poor mid-season signings…We Re-Strategize and look forward to 2017…Crucial signings in the central midfield and central defense positions will be required, hope politics doesn’t overshadow that dire fact…

@Ja’Asego now that you talk of crucial signings, you always have some weight when it comes to transfers….why not try Sempala, Mieno and E.Johanna? I am not telling the EC and TB what to do here. Just expressing a wish they don’t have to listen to!!!!

Do you think Mieno and Sempala would spurn the chance of showing off their skills on continental arena next season?

        Reply
      • Ja'Asego

Musymo…Eric Johanna is a MUST Pursue Target in the transfer season, his contract with Mathare expires in Dec…Sempala doesn’t impress me he is an average player with good pitch-zoning instincts (An Improved version of Wendo) period, but Ze Maria’s likes Technical players.Mieno has 2 more years left but we’ll try rekindle the interest and see if Tusker will trigger his buy-out clause (Though highly unlikely) since as Oduor12 says, they have a chance at continental football while we don’t…I have 5 very good players in mind that if acquired would give Ze Maria the required ingredients to actualize his philosophy and implement his preferred formation per excellence

Guys, the past we can only use to make our future better. Does anybody remember Aucho, Wafula and Walu Walu only reporting to camp a few days to our continental match? At that time Tusker was in UG for a pre-seson session while or players were still on holiday. What if we had a quality player to take over when Gattusso was AWOL?

Our solution is simple. Get a good constitution, elect people who have Gor at heart and not out to make names/money, do sober, quality and meaningful recruitment, fans stop hooliganism. The result , we will continue winning this trophy for years to come. As of now I think our TB is OK though I could be wrong but from the last few matches our swag is back

And @ Ja Asego, another thing that needs to be implemented at Kogallo is a mandatory trial period for any player particularly those coming from abroad before they sign a contract. There is always a reason why a player was released by his immediate former team or is club less…..and that reason is almost always poor form. For lack of trying them first, we have ended up signing up several players that we use only in friendlies against the Naivas of this world…..yet we pay them…and I believe handsomely. So next time, we hope to see even Costa going through trials at Kogalo first, before we sign him…..that is if Chelsea dropped him and we were interested!

  • My humble opinion is that as much as the current Ec has performed well ( by local standards) , after eight years of uniterrupted leadership this is not where we should be , the pedigree that Gor has demands that by now after eight years we should have at least if not a semi final birth or even the quarters in the champions league.
Its based on the above that am glad we didn’t win the league , circumstances for not winning the league notwithstanding because had we won it we would be celebrating despite our mediocre non progressive structureless and unbusinesslike set up.
Everybody must do there part and our part as fan/supporters being part and parcel of the new office that is coming up , the first being to elect the right office by all means necessary .
One of our major undoing as a club is the kind of emotional Ec that we have that doesn’t make any sense at all , my take and this should be in the constitution is that the only elective position in Gor Mahia should be that of President/Chairman , if we get it right then this leader should be the one to choose e.g a club CEO , then a paid Marketing Guru , Financial Guru (well salaried) , I say this becoz the amount of money we loose through leakeges due to club officials as presently constituted and who come to the club to take and not to give is enough to handsomely pay for full time technocrats who must also be given targets to achieve singularly in their departments but also for the collective whole.
The President’s task would be to lay down his vision for the club in the short , mid and long term.
Truth be told at this moment I dont see the coach as a problem , at one point fans were on Ze’s neck for trying to shake up the teams tb but lets look around as , from Pep to Klopp to Mourinho to Conte each coach comes up with his own staff for reasons any serious person should be able to decifer e.g what does Ze Maria have in Common with Jolawi Obondo I.e footballwise…NOTHING.
On the issue of Gattusso , the only problem to Gattusso is Gattusso himself and just like e.g Klopp has done with Mammadou Sakho a hitherto liverpool hero or even Ballotelli or in any organisation for that matter , indiscipline can never be tolerated for reasons that any serious thinker should be able to discern.
Finally to the contestants for the chairmanship of Gor Mahia so far all of you have said but not demonstrated to and this is my oponion the capacity or capability to take this club fwd ( the intricasies and intrigues in Gor just like in Club kubwa is no child’s play) and for that matter if the the elections were to be held today I would still vote for AR who at least is able to win the domestic league.
Finally with all the contestants in play and with the “structures”as presently constituted , JOKAMAA we aint going nowhere .

@teddy sofaset branch entebbe , I think you have talked what the silent majority have in mind. Elect the Chair and his running mate. The others like CEO, Finance guru, PR/Marketing guru and Operations guru can be filled competitively.
From what I have seen is that Zee Maria is a good coach but some of our players are not upto his required standard. With proper recruitment and a good constitution we are still ahead of the pack

First cleanse Gor mahia by firing Ze Maria , bring on Adel Amrouche, or any other fantastic coach by December , release the players like Wendo, Kelly, Odula , Tuyisenge , Kagere, etc, these are players known for accumulating the 12 draws instead of wins we witnessed this season .Sign atleast 4 creative midfielders , two foreigners and two locals.

  • moses

@Nus Pesa I agree with you on release of Tuyisenge who I feel is not what Gor needs.I disagree on release of Ze and by the way Amrouche took it as an insult when he was linked with Gor; claiming that there are many unemployed Kenyans to coach Gor.In short alikuwa na Arab madharau
