Majority of fans want to retain Rodriguez

In a poll conducted on this blog,  62% of those who took the poll would like the Brazilian to be given a chance to attain fitness and earn a spot in the squad. It is therefore clear that the majority have been silent on this issue since most comments in the blogosphere have not been pro-Rodriguez. See the poll results below

Let Rodriguez go. The club can’t just afford to pay someone a whole 150,000/- to wait for him to be fit…if at all he is a professional player who is serious with his career then he ought to have been fit by the time he landed at GM. We don’t look into history that the guy might have made but what counts all the time in footbal is the current form.

Gor Mahia is not a conditioning centre where players come to while their time so that they be fit before they can do the work 4 which they were hired: playing football. Gor is an employer like any other. An employee is contracted to perform some specified work within a given duration of time. Come to think of it, is there anyone of you who has been lucky to get employed, earn a salary (the highest for that matter) when they cannot discharge their duties then be let to acclimatise until when they would have known their work? Certainly none. I think it is immaterial where Rodriguez would choose to go to. In fact, let him even stay right here in Nairobi (but nit in Gor Mahia’s payroll) regain his fitness, then be put on trial by the club to see if he can qualify to be signed by the club. The club cannot waste its meager resources on frauds and opportunists who see an opportunity to deplete its hard-earned resources. The number of people (fans) who vote for or against the issue is irrelevant. The polls did not put the bigger picture, context and implications of the continued presence of that busybody in the club. If the club just wanted people who are unfit to stay within its payroll and regain their fitness, there are hundreds of local players who would have even been much cheaper to retain. The issue is simple: The club must unleash this fraudster and busybody now. He can choose what his next decision would be: the whole world would be waiting to receive an idle tourist.

simple…when you go for a job interview and thereafter recruitment you are always at your best.Well dressed, detailed CV and copies of academic qualification in hand hoping to be hired. This guy was clearly not ready for the job hence making it difficult to be hired ahead of others who were very prepared.
Let him put his house in order then reapply for the job….if he proves equal to the task,he should be hired!!as for now,its a waste of resources to be honest!!

If Rachier can accomodate him like he did Anaba awono before he can gain his fitness then let it be. But we should not force loga to put him in his plan for the season bcoz he is the coach and not just any coach but a professional coach.Since rodriguez says that he loves Gor, he can as well play his part as a fan like we all do and of cource without being paid as the rest of us .

Bwana guys, It will never be the fault of G.R to be at GM.

He did not sign papers by remote control at all.

At the time he did sign the contract there were other players on trial. Lets assume he was better than all the rest on ‘trial’ at the time.

Loga was apparently at large by then on an extended leave may be he could have advised against it, apparently it wasn’t he clear he would be back.

Let us learn to be kind to people around us(visitors), I insist we must do so because a mason can not be a fraudster if you sign a contract with him/her without refering to his physical previous works. GR is not and can never be a busybody because the EC signed a valid contract with him! If there must be a busy body and a fraudster then its the EC.

But since we are past the days of blaming one another, we are bound to accept the EC the way they are and welcome GR to the fold, appreciate him as a part of the Green Movement/Army and move on coz as it is Loga, EC and GR (including his agent) all have questions to answer.

THE CENSUS TO ME REMAIN IRRELEVANT, NO PLAYER DESERVES SUCH MOB JUSTICE JUST BECAUSE HE HAS SIGNED A CONTRACT!

@Kassam Mwivangano thank you. I will not comment more on this matter. At any rate what we should be deliberating on is the merits and demerits of having the work horses (Anguyo and David Owino) to settle in the defensive midfield and give a hand to Teddy.

It is not yet clear how the Executive Committee decided to retain the brazillian import, Giovanni Rodriquez even after was declared unfit by the technical bench lead by coach Logarusic.

Two or more reasons may have informed this decision.

First and foremost, corruption. It is on record that unnamed members of Gor Mahia’s Executive Committee have been cutting deals with new players. The club being one of the most successful in the Kenya Premier League and with the entry of SupertSport, there have been a growing interest from players from Africa and the diaspora. Some club officials have therefore been demanding kickbacks from these players who will stop at nothing to don the famous green and white K’Ogalo jersey.

Secondly, it may be pressure from fans. The technical team expressed fear of K’Ogalo striking force. When coach Logarusic came in, he made an overhaul of the striking department. He brought in Rama Salim and Dan Sserenkuma. This is in addition to Edwin Lavatsa ( or did i hear somebody say Love – a – star?) and Kemboi. Although we were able to lift two cup trophies, the TPL prestigious trophy slipped through our fingers. This had been attributed to lack of strikers in the squad. It is against this backdrop the technical team is under immense pressure to shop more arsenals before the season begin.

Thirdly, Rodriquez may have been left off the hook just for pride. K’Ogalo ego can never be tamed. The lot is boisterious, techno savvy, boast fluent speakers of queen English and extremely adventureous. The above poll taken by fans can attest to this fact.

My opinion has always been since circus started is ; book Giovanni the next flight home. We cannot afford a single for him unless he is staying at his own pleasure. With very many fast foods joints in Nairobi, Rodriquez may find himself more fatter than what he is now. Or else I volunteer to take him ‘ machungani’ for a few days. He may regret why he made his damn trip to Nairobi!
