Allan Thigo as Player/Coach

Allan Thigo was player coach when Gor Mahia won the league unbeaten in 1976  and was player coach when Gor Mahia won the league in 1979 and reached the final of the Africa cup winners cup. Such was his greatness. He has since had several stints as coach of Gor Mahia. The last was in 2008 when he coached for only two matches. Club official Vincent Odera asked him to re-apply for the job along with other candidates and Thigo declined. More recently he has been coach of the Gor Mahia legends team.
