Frank Nuttall’s options for CNaPS clash

Gor Mahia will be facing CNaPS minus several players who played against CNaPS last season. Top of the list is midfielder Khalid Aucho. The Ugandan midfielder was injured while playing for Uganda in December and only started to train again this week.

“Yes I have been training with the team but I do not think I am fit enough to play on Saturday. I still feel a little pain but I am doing okay. Just a matter of time before I play again, probably in the next two weeks depending with the way my leg responds. I wish my team all the best and we hope we can have a good run this season in the competition.” he said to goal.com

Also missing will be Ali Abondo who scored the lone goal against CNaPS in Nairobi last year then scored again in Madagascar. Abondo is in South Africa attending trials with Ajax Cape Town.

Nevertheless, Nuttall has other options to call upon. In Mombasa against Bandari last weekend, Nuttall opted for a three pronged attack with Jacob Keli, George Odhiambo and Enock Agwanda. He may have to resort to the same given the fact that Gor Mahia will need to score.

It will not be an easy task against CNaPS who are at full strength with no injury worries. Coach Hery Raberisoa and his assistant Jeremia Randriambololona are said to be spoiled for choice. Regulars like Mika Rabeson and Njiva Niasexe willbe joined by new signings including defender Lanto Tana and attacker Joel Lucien.

Meanwhile midfielder Innocent Wafula resumed training with the team on Thursday. There was no word explaining where has been nor why he is not interested in getting a passport. Wafula cannot be fielded in CAF cup matches as his name was not submitted to CAF. New signing Jacque Tuyisenge, could be eligible during the later stages of the tournament.

I think Gor Mahia rarely takes these continental matches seriously.

For instance, I thought we already have Kahata. How come hes wasn’t fielded in last weekend’s match against Bandari. Was his name really submitted to CAF. So we will be relying on Blackberry?? Why doesn’t innocent Wafula have a passport or let me rephrase my question by asking whether he is serious or not?

Anyway I want to bury my head in the sand and assume that minus some of key players like Aucho, Kahata, Abondo, Tuyisenge, Innocent Wafula, etc we will still score many goals in tomorrow’s match.

    All the best. K’Ogalo

Yes Kahata’s name was included. I agree with you on the level of seriousness. Most teams in Africa would never allow a player to go and attend trials at such a critical time.

And serious teams would not allow a player to just disappear with no explanation the way Wafula does. And also why does he refuse to get a passport?

This CAF champions league by Gor is just a pipe dream.New signings can’t play, lose of Kagere,Innocent Wafula’s allergy to passports, real injury to Aucho and names like Kahata that were forwarded but still cannot feature.I hope we have election;sign wiser in June and build from there to 2017 champions league coz early exit is looming either we accept by a small margin to Cnaps or wait for Wydad Casablanca to annihilate us.

This is poor leadership at Gor Mahia led by AR and his EC members. Leadership can’t be bought nor auctioned. Good leaderships require planning ahead which is lacking in Gor Mahia. If I may ask, do we recruit players fir only KPL? After winning KPL, do we plan for other competitions.

Gor Mahia even fire coaches at the beginning of the league. Just like Mwendwa, AR is taking Gor Mahia nowhere and where he has reached is the peak he attained.

What a hail of have players that cannot be fielded in CAF competitions? This is poor planning and poor leadership with this bloated office.

Some bloggers want the status quo to be maintained but the big question is Can Gor Mahia go far in CAF competition? A big NO!!!!

AR has to change his leadership skills and acumen or stop thinking of big callings and challenges.

  • a continental match without aucho, wafula, tuyisenge, abondo, …? someone is busy scheming on kogallo’s earliest exit from this competition.
complacency and lack of seriousness explains why players appear and disappear from camp like clouds.
someone is preoccupied with disengaging nuttal and losing elections while players play truant over petty issues.
concerning continental fixtures, we will play a maximum of four games then exit with our tails curled between our legs as usual.

We have been complaining about the bloated EC of Gor Mahia. There is match today but we do not have any information about the match on where tickets are sold and when the gate is being opened for fans entry. Surely the bloated office cannot even tell us where tickets are being sold.

The office is really letting us fans down. Guys where are points of sale of entry tickets?

It will be difficult to fill in the gaps left by Olunga and Kagere. But still I feel like more questions than answers.

Guys, as much as the EC is to blame but let’s know that players are not mangoes that you buy in the market. Can you blame anyone on Olunga, Kagere and Chheche yet they have their agents who want to reap maximum from them
