Donald Mosoti late signing by Kogalo

Late into the night on the death of the Kenyan Premier League transfer window -31st January – and while everybody else was comfortably wrapped up in their blankets, Gor Mahia officials were in other business, trying to fix their center back trouble.

After watching their team’s weak exposure at the back over the weekend during their friendly match against Sudanese giants Al- Mareikh, the technical bench opted to scout around for an added strength at the back and yes, City Stars inspirational skipper Donald Mosoti fit the solution’s description as he was whisked away from Kawangware for a last minute transfer before midnight as confirmed by Gor Mahia secretary General George Bwana.

“We sealed the deal late into the night because upon advise from the technical bench we realized we needed a center back urgently.”, Bwana told Michezoafrika.com

“We looked at all the possible players who could fill that gap and we agreed on Mosoti. He is a very good player and we know he will be of importance to us”, he adds.

The Nigerian import Felix Nwosu who was one of the likely players at the position seems to have been left out of the KPL list as his name as conspicuously missing from the official KPL list.

Felixinho will be retained by the club but will feature in the reserve team.
However, Mosoti will not be available for CAF ties with Gor having already sent their list to CAF.

The defender was City Stars’ pillar last season and his move to Gor Mahia will be a plus to his ever industrious career.

Kogallo Fans please behave no more abusing this player when they are not up to the par, we must give them time to adjust playing under pressure.

this is a player av watched play and the tech bench has done a great job.My opinion is that Musa shlb be left to pair eiter Anguyo, Mosoti or Owino in central defense and have Kevin Ochieng used as a right to cover Soloh. Lets not mix up positions…….just but a suggestion

  • As Motema Pembe puts it let’s support our players but criticize contrctively. Some of our fans have this tabia mbaya of loudly abusing our players when they make errors on the field. This is not what is expected of us as fans. Playing at that level can be tasking and when playing for a team like GM with demanding fans the pressure is even more. So let’s be patient with our players and encourage them even when they are down. During the El Meriekh game we gave them the support that resulted in the equaliser and that’s how it’s supposed to be. We all know the expectations are high from us but footie can bring out unexpected results at time so we must be prepared for the same. We must also understand that the players are human are are bound to be out-of-form or make mistakes and the tech bench are the ones to handle such. During the Sunday friendly I heard some fans saying that they need to visit Gattusso at his home and warn him against silly mistakes (remember the ball he was dispossed during the game). You can guess the outcome of such a visit if every party stands their ground and even question the visitors expertise to advise. All in all that means we have to behave ourselves as fans and this is what Kosero has been trying to tell us all along.

Thanks Dan and this is what I stand for personally, but it wont come out of this blogg site; office needs to come out and educate supporters about certain basic things. This is a young team and see there are several new comers ; any unnecessary shouts/yells at players during a match can really disorient some who might never regain composure during that match or in subsequent matches. So lets be very careful what we say and do at matches for the sake of our beloved team

Another thing, we would want many fans coming out to watch these matches in a conducive atmosphere, my mother ,my son ,my wife, my daughter, my mother in law, father in law etc. Lets change our behavior and start expecting all sorts of results inspite of the great potential that we have assembled. Football matches are won and lost and all teams are prepared, no jokes. THE REALITY IS WE CANNOT EXPECT TO BE THE WINNERS ALL THE TIME.Lets declare this a NO STONES,NO MISSISLES season.
