Faiz: dismisses Ulinzi complaints

Gor Mahia have criticized Ulinzi Stars’ protest over excess fielding of foreign players during last Wednesday’s Kenyan Premier League [KPL] Top Eight knock-out clash at Nyayo National Stadium.
The Soldiers were edged out 4-2 on post-match penalties, but after the match, they filed a petition claiming K’ogalo breached the tournament’s rules by fielding four foreign players namely Ivo Mapunda (Tanzanian) and Ugandan trio of Dan Serunkuma, Ivan Anguyo and Israel Emuge, an excessive of one.
It was the second meeting between the two sides this season, with Ulinzi having beaten Gor 2-0 in a league match two weeks ago.
However, Vice Chairman Faiz Ochieng has termed their petition as petty and said that it’s not the first time the Military side is complaining after losing to Gor Mahia.
“Ulinzi Stars are being very petty. These issues were discussed in the pre match meetings and nobody raised the issue of our foreign players. They had our squad list and there representative didn’t complain about it before the match,’’ said Ochieng.
“We are used to their protests. Two weeks ago they beat us in the league; we never complained about anything but whenever we defeat them there is always issues.
“In the last three Top Eight matches we have played against them issues have always cropped up. Therefore, their protests will not distract our preparations for the next matches.”
let ulinzi apeal to the supreme court and as usual our victory will be upheld and they will be adviced to move on
Does it mean Gor tech. bench forgot the rules of the tournament? Or Ulinzi doesn’t know the rules well?
i thnk Bwana (sec. gen) answered this issue better than Faiz. the tournament has it’s own rules. having Gor’s squad list does not answers Ulinz’s concern. the issue is did the tournament allow for the fielding of more than 4 foreign players. if the top 8 eight rules allowed this then ulinzi has no case.
I think Faiz is not responding to the issue here. I expected better reasons from him and not the emotional outbursts which only fans like us are allowed to give. That’s how you lose a case or argument. If Bwana has given the better reply so be it. Being perennial complainants does not make the issue wrong or right. What are the rules? I believe FKF will answer that though like the Supreme court ruling Ulinzi had better move on. The Top8 is a smaller ‘cup’ compared to FKF or TPL ‘cup’. Two years ago they were the beneficiary of a bad judgement and as they say ‘shria ni msumeno, inakata pande zote’.
Whoever answers #2, George ochoro’s question wil have settled this issue once and for all.
However if it is established that gor broke the tournament’s rules, by fielding more than the allowed quota of foreign players, then that would be inexusable and gross misconduct by whomever was in charge.
I’ll wait and and see how this one pans out.
Malipo ni hapa hapa tu,supreme court nyale hahahahaha anonimous decision
CORD vs JUBILEE AT WORK……HOW CAN THE GOVERNMENT SUE ITSELF ? COURT WILL DISMISS THIS MATTER VERY FAST !!!! KOGALLO IS SIRKAL aka TUZO aka BROOKSIDE aka CORD. ULINZI IS ALSO SIRKAL aka JUBILEE aka MINISTRY OF DEFENCE
It is clear kpl did not put in place clear rules for this top 8 tourney. The ruling has gone on our favour simply because it was filed late. There was confusion brought by kpl. What i know is that tournaments should have their own set rules. But for sure this was lacking. They should not leave us to gues, that is why 4 players were used.
I hope our EC and tech bench will now ensure that we get the Top 8 rule book and follow it to the letter. You cannot be innocent just because witnesses ‘disappeared’ or a case was filed wrongly. But this is Kenya for you. Now that AFC have exited bitterly/violently from the tourney , let’s strive to win it. I witnessed the chaos and I wouldn’t like to see my beloved K’ogalo go through that bad episode. How can one person have guts to walk into the field and assualt the ref with the game in progress? And why should fans ‘fight’ to have such a person released by police? Looks like it was the same fan who did it a year ago in Mumias. Call it impunity.
LET US WAIT THE DECISION OF FKF AND RESPECT IT’S VERDICT
Just like in the Supreme Court, Ulinzi Stars FC has presented their petition to the Tusker Premier League , the organisers of the tourna
I expect the officials will look at the merits and demerits of the petition before making a decision that
is binding to all parties. Vice chairman, Faiz Ochieng’s outburst is therefore untimely and simplistic. Faiz knows well that he has his day to put his case forward. The question of whether Gor has breached the rules of the game by fielding too many foreign players should be answered by the officials of kpl.
Only last season, we have singled out Faiz as one man who likes to take anything K’Ogalo to the media. This is purely an administrative matter that should be solved administratively.
In any case, Ulinzi stars has every right to petition any matter provided they are within the confines of the law. I don’t agree at all that every time we beat Ulinzi, they complain. This blog and our official website, gormahiafc.com will bear me out.
Finally, i urge bloggers to keep site free of politics. The election is over and we must move on as a nation. We need a place to unwind and catch up the latest on our favorite local club. I recommend gormahia.net to you all.
@Dan the issue of hooliganism was discussed at length in the previos column by many bloggers and it saddens me greatly to witness it first hand from my beloved Ingwe, am bitter after we were ousted and it had 2do with the red card 2 Wafula n the denied penalty after Were was brought down but nothing can justify violence n i condemn it. I came to conclude that collective responsibility is needed from all the stakeholders concerned namely; FKF, KPL, the gorvenment through the sports ministry, police and the fans 4the football community 2move foward, FK n KPL needs to ‘style up’ this things are so yesterday n should STOP.
@10 pareyio, for ua info a decision had been made in favour of Gor, and the issue is not how Ochieng presents his sentiments but the failer by kpl to put in place clear rules of top 8 tournament.
@dan, you mean its’ the infamaous ‘mlandege’, who a while ago unleashed a nyahunyo on a referee in mumias, when afc were playing, was it thika?
This issue of hooliganism, is not confined to gor mahia alone. The other 14 teams in the tpl are only relatively safe because they dont have a huge fan base, otherwise they would be undergoing the same problems gor and ingwe are undergoing.
Admiral fc and sparki youths of mombasa, always experience similar problems to the ones gor and ingwe have because of their huge followings.
So its’ a trend that any team with a huge following will most likely experience crowd trouble.Having said that, the level of officiating in our league is also wanting. Referees are also human beings, thus are prone to errors and sometimes make wrong calls, even in world cup matches. But some of the decisions I see being made by our local match officials are just blatant incompetence.
A few weeks ago I watched ingwe play western stima at nyayo. The ball clearly came off an afc player, the linseman who was just metres away indicated a stima throw, while the referee who was yards away and probably didn’t have a clear view gave the throwing to ingwe. As confusion still reigned an afc player quickly took the ball threw it to noah wafula who raced down the left wing and scored! The goal did stand and made all the difference in the match as the game ended 1-0.
Now tell me,good people, would such a goal have stood had it been againts gor, ingwe, admiral or sparki youth? The goal just stood coz stima didnt’ have enough fans to disrupt the match.
Let all the stakeholders fkf, tpl, ssmb, police, the teams and fans all work together and find ways of reducing, if we cant curb completely this vice.A starting point would be to fine heavily and or long prison terms for the hooligans whom I saw the police arrest yesterday.500, 000 or 3yrs imprisonment is not a bad idea!
Appeal has been rejected on a Technicality now let them in the new language of the day “move on”. A few days of unwinding in SA will help put things in their proper place.
In the next round’s milk derby lets follow the rules.
To be honest,we have noticed alot of poor officiating(not necessarily biased)this season. This has translated into unnecessary tension and anger among the fans!!
FKF needs to remedy this sorry situation asap and avert a looming disaster. Coupled with that,we need to enhance security during matches. The handful of policemen who come for matches can surely not be able to handle the kind of crowds witnessed in Gor games especially.Be warned!!!
Lets be honest, winning the case against Ulinzi does not justify any continued flouting of rules let the tech bench take note of that anomaly and not repeat the mistake. Rules are rules.
On the same breath let K’ogalo fans learn from the fracas witnessed yesterday at Ingwe match, see and feel the embarrassment and backwardness exposed in that mindless behavior. We need to stop this all of us, perhaps led by Brother Ochigah!
Remember Ingwe have been over the years favoured by the media as K’ogalo consistently provoked and magnified as people with ready trouble and mayhem but this did not deter Ingwe from perhaps going worse than K’ogalo yesterday. It doesn’t call for celebration but a lesson.
MESSAGE OF ADVISE TO COMRADE “BENSON “DISI” OF AFC LEOPARDS S.C.
Ooh Laa la !!!! “I love This Circus- Official Hooliganism”
Let me start by extending my sincere bereavement message to one comrade Benson “Disi” at his secret hibernation “DEN” during this very painful and tearful moment of awe, despair and confusion in the main “DEN”.
Comrade “Disi” i was once in the same predicament sometimes back and it really rained floods on my entire body, mind and soul as compared to the light showers you encountered last night. “Just Soldier ON pal”.
We could not stand “zico”, Congo united used to turn us right, left and centre, Our chair was unconcerned while players had simply switched off until it reached “fever pitch” and we did exactly what you did last night. We chased away “ZICO”, Disciplined “AWONO”, “D.ODHIAMBO” and former TM “Jolawi” after poor show at “OLD TRAFFORD”.
But this did not solve our problem despite bringing ON “Bobby” and LOGA the too “expensive coach” in the TPL. We decided to humble ourselves, believed in prayers, trusted in our CREATOR,officials and the bench.
BUT ULTIMATELY WE CONDEMNED AND SHUNNED ANY KIND OF HOOLIGANISM
My Grand-Ma ‘KHUHU” from “BUBURI” famously known as “NABURI- JUAYA” who hailed from Funyula Division in Busia County used to say in “Samia dialect”that “esialo sia changer” meaning in Swahili language; “Siku zina Badilika” or everyday with a different cloud.
And it has just come to that in this moment and time. When i flash back my memory on you “DISI”, It really pained me when you used to refer to some of us as “GOR MAWE” or “GOR GOONS” leave alone the “NYOLS” or “BANYOLO”.
But that is exactly what has happened when you failed to know that “Ball ina dunda pande zote za uwanja” OR “NYANI AONI KUNDULE”
The genesis of your predicaments started when you scored a dubious goal and forced a draw against western stima. Later on Mikky Barry was reasonably red carded for abusing the lineman.
Just like last night “CHEMO” out played AFC and scored easy goals at will, while Edwin Wafula made a schoolboy mistake by elbowing an opponent off the ball and was red carded. Same as “WERE” was reprimanded for his trickery move to earn a penalty through diving.
The officiating standards have improved and referee’s are no longer intimidated by fans throwing missiles on the pitch. We as “GOR” mis-behaved to “DAMARIS” when she rightful stood her ground after “MUSA” handled the ball and gave “KCB” a spot kick, but we soldiered on and got ours genuinely in the course of play and won.
Against Mathare we appealed for penalties and we were denied when twice “Kevo” and “Ssere” were hounded down; but later on Edgar was penalized against “Ssere” and we capitalized on the rear opportunity to collect maximum points from our slums “BOGEY” boys.
And that is how Mr. “DISI” you have come to nick-nmane us “Timu ya Penalti saa zote”. But what happens in ROME you leave it ROME. Why are trying to “APE SIRKAL”.You have been infected with hooliganism.
When Nine men Tusker held us for 90 minutes during the super cup, you did laugh me off claiming we won via penalties and little did you know that the same nine men Karuturi would silence you at “OLD TRAFFORD” until ultimately your “goons” melted their anger by throwing out “Ayuko” from the stands in a free fall style.
CHEMELIL SUGAR are the cause of “Olaba” being shown the door in AWENDO by none other than fans and it will always be your BOGEY irrespective of the venue, fans turn out or even officiating standards. You must live with it and please “MOVE ON” for the sake of peace and harmony in our local football.
Lastly let me welcome you “Disi” and the entire “INGWE” fraternity unconditional to the club of “HOOLIGANISM” that we graduated from and please do take care of it because we might meet again.
1. Congratulation AFC LEOPARDS for firmly Up-helding ,Practicing ,Validating and Complimenting HOOLIGANISM in our local football and please stretch it to the next level beyond our standrads.
2. This was long overdue and now that Mike Baraza has threaten to call it quits via his FB page then i believe “U”-fans message has reached both the bench and playing unit.No stone should be left untouched until “U” turn around the performance at all cost. Good luck “Disi” and “OBULALA NA AMANI”. Mwenyenzi mungu awa Tokolezee.
3. Next let us deal with the inept officials who can not even arrange for transport logistic to cater for our new “FOREIGN” coach after U unconditionally chased away the non- Performing TOM OLABA.
“HATUTAKI NYEYEEE!” “HUKILETA NYENYEE” “FIMBO CHAPAA”
@ Pareyio 2013
i salute your sentiments, moreso the last two paragraphs
Thumbs up!
Ogango Papa umesema mingi, in this world theres ups n down hii ni tyme yetu kuwa down, talk of chasing away grandpapa Koops
Guys as we ‘bask’ in glory at the goings-og at the den which I’m sure are just starting with Nyayo stadium ban (Now @Disi will have to go to the stadium he despises), Baraza and Wanga quiting, Lucy going back to DRC.
We should also know that ‘ukimwona mwenzako akinyolewa tia lako maji’. As Gor we are not any better and we need to be vigil on the hooligans on our end.
At least AFC have Mumias but what do we as gor have?
Just wondering, what if gor hooligans decide that what AFC can do they can do it better?
As Ingwe and Gor we need prayers for that section of our fans. I also hope to hear/see the Ingwe fan who caused the chaos to be treated as an example to the rest of his kind. Ili iwe funzo to all hooligans. By the way having a massive support base does not justify acts of hooliganism. Barca fans have never gone rioting.
Bad news for Gor is that Kiongera might miss the rest of the season!!
