Felixinho to be retained

Gor Mahia secretary General George Bwana has said they will not part ways with Nigerian defender Felix Nwosu who has been left out of the club’s official KPL list presented to the Kenyan Premier League Secretariat on Tuesday.

According to Bwana, Felixinho who has been on the headlines for the past week for alleged misconduct will be retained by the club but will be part of the team’s reserve players.

“He will not have an official KPL card to play in our local league but we have agreed to maintain him but as a reserve player.” Said the Secretary General.

The player was down cast in reception of the news but says that he has no otherwise since he is tied by the one year contract he signed with the club.

“It is very unfortunate and I am sad because it is going to be a setback for my career. I signed the contract expecting full flight action in the league and CAF but with this decision, I have no power to change it”, he laments.

“However, I want to work hard so that I can prove myself and win my place back in the team. I will stay loyal to them because I love Gor Mahia. It is every footballer’s aspiration to taste action week in week out. I respect the decision and express my remorse for the circumstances that led to the misunderstanding”, Nwosu told Michezoafrika.com

Felixinho will also not feature in the team’s list of 33 players that was presented to CAF for the Confederations Cup participation.

I LIKE THIS….NO PLAYER IS ABOVE THE LAW..HESHIMA LAZIMA..THIS IS A PROFFESIONAL TEAM EXPECTING TOTAL RESPECT OF THE RULES AND REGULATIONS GOVERNING THE CONDUCT..I THINK THIS IS A VERY GOOD PRECEDENT…TO AVOID LAVATSA KIND OF BEHAVIOURS OF LAST YEAR/SEASON…

SO WHY SIGN HIM IF HE WILL NOT PLAY

I was wondering the same thing as #2 motema above. This whole thing seems like a personal vendetta. The club has not come out and told us what the problem is. And Felixinho seems remorseful. Whatever he did, I doubt it warrants this kind of suspension.
He is an adequate defender. He may not be the best defender. But in case of injuries, he may be useful. They assessed him for a week. Then they signed him. They have to pay him. Yet now they have relegated him to the reserves which is bogus because reserve team does not play any games.

Good observation motema pembe. This Naija man is very shadowy and has a mysterious background. There are real concerns that he has unresolved issues with CAF and will get us disquallified if fielded.

My guess is this ‘average foreign player’ bribed his way here and expected to live by his own rules. Mahono has stood his ground and now the corrupt EC official is left with egg-inho on his face.

Maybe being on the reserve team (whatever that is)was the plan after all..so he can focus on the business his countrymen are synonimous with.

Opuk can we please stop casting aspersions ?
If he falsified his documents then the club should appeal to CAF or FIFA to have his contract voided.

GEORGE BWANA AVOID THIS DOUBLE-SPEAK AND LET THE
TECHNICAL BENCH DO THEIR WORK DEVOID OF VESTED
INTEREST FORM YOURSELF AND OTHERS WITHIN GM EC.

My fellow bloggers its becoming imperative that we should impress on the GM EC to act with the expected professionalism when dealing with the media. Whatever information that is released to the press should be deliberated upon by the entire EC so that we can conclude it as an official position with regards to matters pertaining to our be-loved club.

At the moment it is like G.BWANA, FAIZ and R.NGALA are competing to out do each other while releasing conflicting statements at various media outlet that clearly shows “POPULIST CONTEST” that negates them to fail in the basic ethics and standard management practice as managers of a club of GM status.

I am tired of this off the road remarks and grape-vine mongering doing round with-in the media-houses that clearly shows that the current recruitment especially ;the latest entry of defender mosoti from city stars to replace felixihno nwosu is an indicator of cold wars behind the scene between the technical bench and EC.

    And this is my honest take of the issue;
    1. Felixhno disciplinary issue arose from some article posted on his face book page immediately after he was signed in and played the friendly againist CITY STARS.

    2. Asst coach Ken Odhiambo is solely responsible on recruiting and training defenders and he was not impressed with the guy, although some fellow {Name with held for now} at the EC decided to enroll the player into a one year contract without consulting the bench.

    3. Ken and Awono all long had wanted mosoti to be engaged but the opposing forces within the EC carried the day until after our friendly with El-mereik last sunday its when it registered in there mind that our backline was exposed.

AS WE MOVE ON AND ASPIRE TO TAKE OUR BELOVED CLUB TO THE NEXT LEVEL THEN WE MUST CONSISTENTLY CHECK ON THE CALIBRE AND QUALITY OF LEADERSHIP OF OUR OFFICIAL WITH A TOOTH COMB BECAUSE OF WHAT I HAVE CONFIRMED FROM VARIOUS SOURCES.

    1. Gor future lies with the youthful under 23 players and of late they have been relegated to spectators due to un-explained reason. They shine recently when wearing the national colours in West-Africa and immediately they are back home they dis-appeared into oblivion because of vested interest by EC within the team.

    1. Where are the likes of KITAWI, KEVO-OMONDI, TEDDY AKUMU, LAVATSA,OWITI-MACHEDA in this time and moment and who refused to sign the young boy Islam.

G.BWANA & COMPANY PLEASE WATCH THIS SPACE AND TREAD VERY CAREFUL BEFORE THINGS FALL APART.

No doubt this is a costly blunder by the EC since i shudder to think that Flexinho may be commanding ‘high’ salary.Reserve players should essentially be the youth team strictly under 20s.The positives from the saga are-
1.The technical bench seems to have prevailed as regards player selection, this is a gud trend
2.The EC shld come up with an operations manual,as suggested during a b.branch meeting, so we have steps to be followed on player recruitment n other club activites.

@ Post 6 OGANGO TRAILER you have hit the nail on the head and nothing can be further from the truth. You have just given us a tip of the ice-berg.

Can not agree any more! You have tabled the motion with facts as they are and i beg to support.

MAY BE GM SHOULD APPOINT A MEDIA LIAISON OFFICER TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE OF PUBLIC RELATIONS.

AND BY THE WAY WHERE IS GM OFFICIAL WEB-SITE FOR THAT MATTER.

Is not the same G.BWANA who referred to this site and gorfc.com as un-official and promised to revive gormahia.co.ke as the official site which is now long over-due.

“WHO IS FOOLING WHO NOW”! AND FOR WHAT GAINS REALLY AT THE EXPENSE OF K’OGALO WHICH IS AN OLD SOCCER GIANT TRYING CRAWL BACK INTO FOOTBALL LIMELIGHT.

@OGANGO TRAILER, I am sick of this question where is so and so (Where are the likes of KITAWI, KEVO-OMONDI, TEDDY AKUMU, LAVATSA,OWITI-MACHEDA in this time and moment and who refused to sign the young boy Islam). For your information, GM has registered 30 players for this season. Its competition nothing like favours.
I am afraid the honeymoon is over for Coaches Awono and Ken. The way bloggers like Ogango have started, I doubt the technical bench will survive the season. Watch this space. I am not a prophet of doom, but I am afraid, this team is not going far. I am on record questioning the rationale of hiring 15 new players, yet the old squad was ok, apart from the coach who has since been replaced. The former coach was notorious of wasting talented players. What is now happening to the greatest players – Kitawi, Macheda etc. It seems Awono and Ken are also wasting thier talent. For God and my club Kogallo

Bro O’ Jabilo happy new year! Just last week people argued over exegerated gate charges, now people are telling us to fund a questionable nigerian’s stay in the country for a whole year! When will they understand that we give harambee money not because we lack other things to spend on but out of responsibility and passion? Do they not know that the percentage they will earn from the naija guy does not compare with the damage they will cause to our brand! Let the EC be informed.. We watched zd destroy GM for two years, we are still quietly questiöning some funny recruitments made from last season, may you make sure the tech bench have sanctioned them lest you embarasingly lose your ‘percentage’ of your ‘pawns’ takings. I am tempted to believe some element must have stage managed this naija saga to reap something. I thank God we will all contribute towards the harambee and we must be told how things go.

  • When the issue of Felixinho hit this site there was overwhelming support for him to be signed. Now the same bloggers have different opinions. What’s the issue. His article on facebook or his expertise? That’s GM fans for you. On wasted talent, I heard the coach saying that he will base his starting line-up on merit and I believe even the Kitawis and Machedas will have to fight for their places. I believe thay are not being sidelined because of their ages. Afterall Musa is equally young but is a regular. All the same the issue is that they should be given some playing time even if it’s some cameo apperance. On the spokesman, I think we need a PR person so that the SC, Vice Chair and the rest can concentrate on what they do best. We also need that official website. In this time and age it only takes like a week to get a website up and running. We can even revive the gormahia.co.ke site. What happened to the Mpesa account? As we are talking on the difficulties of having one time is moving and those funds that could have been contributed are going into other personal projects.

The fact of the matter is that there is more than meets the eye in the Felixnho Nwosu issue. Discipline or no discipline, I honestly think the same is meted out a bit harshly. Why did the club even have to sign this player in the first place if the player was going to be relegated to the reserve team? The club is not in short supply of reserve players so that it had to hire a foreign player and then sideline the player to the reserve. The club management and the Technical Bench must tell the public the truth about this player because, presently, we are being treated to half-truths. For the record, could we be told what precipitated this drastic action against the player? What did this player do? If the player is as good as we’d been told so that the technical bench opted to sign him, what was that conduct which ultimately caused a one year sidelining for a player who will draw huge salaries for an entire 12 months for being in the reserve team? I want to believe that rather than keep a foreign player in the reserve and continue paying him 4 doing nothing, it’d have been mutually beneficial to release him and pay him 4 termination of his contract. In that regard, the club would avoid sitting on a timebomb. Similarly, the player’s professional growth would not be held back as would happen under the present arrangement. The action the club has taken on this player is suicidal to his professional development. The club must be humane with the players. Racist Suarez only got an 8 match ban and would resume playing 4 Liverpool. By keeping this player around while not playing him, trust me, there is disaster in the offing. Why? First, you can be sure this player’s salary is higher than the average GM player who will be doing duty for the club to bring in the fans every weekend. That is going to be a cause of tension because why would the club pay a foreign reserve player higher than an active local player? You can be sure that this player certainly earns more than the Akumus, Kitawis and the Kevos who will be in action for GM, yet he would remain consigned to the reserve while these others will be in action. There would be no justification for that action. Trust me on this, this is going to cause lots of player revolt, sabotage and uncalled for indiscipline. Whatever the case, let the club release this player because his case will bring down the club. If the Technical Bench has made up its mind that the player has no place in the team this year, then fans cannot pay to keep tourists who have no business at the club. The earlier the club releases this player, the better for the rest of the team.

Kosero says the previous squad was OK except for the coach. Which is funny because when people were saying the coach was not OK, Kosero was the only one defending him. This is too funny 🙂 🙂
Secondly I am glad that Kogalo realized that the squad they had last year was not ready for continental. You need experienced players t do well in continental.
Finally I agree with those saying that the punishment meted out to Felixinho is rather harsh. There is more than meets the eye here.
