Gor Mahia beat Posta Rangers

In the final build up match before the CAF cup encounter with Anse Re-Union, Gor Mahia beat Posta Rangers 3-1. The match was played at Nyayo national stadium.

Paul Kiongera who is the liveliest of the new signings had a good day scoring two goals.  The first came in the 12th minute when he found himself one on one with the goalkeeper and beat him with a well taken shot. The second came via a freekick.

Dan Ssserunkuma scored the third goal after Kevin Omondi had done the spadework leaving Sserunkuma with the easiest of jobs for Gor Mahia’s 3rd goal.

Coach Logarusic changed his lineup in the second half giving several players opportunities.  Rangers scored their goal via a 58th minute penalty after a foul by Ivan Anguyo.

    That is a morale-booster.

Given the line-up used, I think today we must have taken this friendly seriously with aim of finding a winning formula when we start our official assignment on Saturday. Many bloggers had started unnecessary panic but for me I know pre-season friendly matches can be very deceitful. Every year we’ve always won all our pre-season friendlies but come the actual match… as of today I’m happy we have a different coach who works professionally and the squad is strong so he has many options to select from. The only think the bench needs to be weary of is introducing all the new signings at once. Two have jelled well (Kiongera and Emuge), other new faces will take time to catch up.

Unfortunately some of the new signings may take time to catch up but that is not my haedache since we have good trainers.

1979 and 1987, those were great years for kogalo, please show these players what those guys did for morale booster. the time has come to re-live those monumental moments and years. in this gor i see the ball flowing from keeper to defenders to midfield and to strikers to finish the way ouma chege, dawo and jogoo did then. i pray for the mighty team, obongo nyakalaga, umwa gi bwombi kaka ngou umo chwechni e tipone, gwedhwa kaka ni gwedho daudi mo onego goliath gi orujre, kiyie wuon chuech duto ti iwe wahiny timbe te moriwo e nyimwa, e nying wuoro, wuoyi gi chuny matakatifu, a big AMEN.

Yes, I agree its a good morale booster to hit 3 against any level of opposition. Maybe we have broken the jinx.

    All the best on Sato

I hope Nyayo Stadium management will not steal 20% of the gate collections.
Executive Community please renegotiate this figure to 20% upto a maximum of say even kshs.300,000.00

Remember Gor Mahia is basically a community or self supporting club not a cash cow.

My appeal to the management of Kasarani, Nyayo and City Stadiums please show some good will this season.
