Gor Mahia denied use of Kasarani for CAF match

Gor Mahia must find an alternative site to host their CAF Confederations cup match against Morocco’s RS Berkane. The match is scheduled for April 6. According to Pius Metto of Sports Kenya, the venue has been booked fro April 3 to April 7 for the Expo event

The next option would be Machakos where Gor Mahia played several continental matches in 2018. Nyayo stadium is still under construction with the projected finished date having moved again in May of 2019. City stadium has been closed for a a couple of years with no end date in sight.

Last season we played Esperance and USMA in Machakos and both were goalless stalemates. I am not for the idea of playing RS Berkane there. The organizers of the Expo thing should either wind up on Saturday 6th or move to Uhuru park on Sunday 7th April.

If we are to beat RS Berkane, then it has to be at Kasarani.

Which one came first? The said event or Gor qualification? On the other hand it is the case of being caught between a rock and a hard place. The rock being the fact that we do not a field of our own and the hard place being a sports body that cares less especially when it comes to K’Ogalo. Looking at that copy of a letter, it is a complete denial to use the venue. May be I am not so professional, but couldn’t the author even care to mention that earlier event and their date of application for the booking?. Whatever the event is, couldn’t they use the Safaricom Arena? Between that so called event and Gor playing at Kasarani, which one fits and ascribes to the true meaning of the Stadia? I thought it is called ‘Moi International Sports Center” and not Moi Local event Center. Gor in this case is involved in an International Match. Where is Amina and Mwendwa? If you take away Athletics which in my opinion is always won out there by individuals, what other entertaining game do you have most of the time around for people to watch? It is football. But one thing for Sure Gor will continue to do their thing.

Meanwhile Gor checked into Royal City Garden Hotel in kisumu earlier today…full squad with the exception of Wendo whom I didn’t see.

Sharks have beaten us three times in a row.I hope tomorrow we can avenge those losses.

Kasarani is our only major sporting venue in Nairobi, why are we being locked out yet we will be representing Kenya at large?

All along they should have known that Gor was playing CAF. All along they should have known that Gor had a chance to qualify; All along they knew Nyayo is under construction. All along they should have known being influenced by money to make some decision will not work. Coruption has now come to Soccer someone wants a share of GOR’s 35 million

  • Magi Onge Gor Mahia will play RS Berkane at MISC Kasarani. Some like me do not recognize Sports Kenya as an Authority and will move over their heads to more Powerful Authorities and reverse that decision come what may…

Whaaaaat? This must be a hoax unless Kenya Government is such unpatriotic as to relegate an international match of this magnitude to just a side show. Where the team has reached is a national achievement and we should even be expecting senior government officials to grace the matches. I want to agree with Jasego, that that will not happen, methinks the match will be at Kasarani bi

One month after being appointed, we haven’t heard from new sports CS Amina Mohamed regarding what she plans to do. She is not interested in sports. All her recent tweets are still about education. I guess she is trying to salvage her shoddy performance as education minister. So don’t expect Nyayo stadium to be expedited. And I don’t even know what is happening at City
