Gor Mahia draw with Talanta

Kenyan Premier League defending champions Gor Mahia were on Friday morning held to a 2-2 draw by FC Talanta in their friendly match played at the Nairobi City Stadium.

Gor Mahia’s newly signed striker Timothy Otieno continues with his fine form scoring against his former side to equalize in the first half after Talanta had taken the lead through Bernard Ongoma.

First half goals

Talanta was at it again towards the end of the first half after a brilliant build up from the midfield and eventually a goals from Kennedy Ochieng’ but Gor Mahia again equalized through Arthur Semazzi.

The friendly match was in preparations for the upcoming events by both sides with Gor Mahia set to represent the country in the Kagame CECAFA Cup and Talanta eyeing good run in the KECOSO Cup.

Ulinzi Match postponed

Gor Mahia’s participation in the 2014 Kagame Cecafa Cup has forced the postponement of their planned midweek match against Ulinzi Stars.

The Kenyan Premier League has confirmed that the match will be put on hold till a later date to allow the defending champions head to Rwanda.

This was a week 20 match and was set to be played at the City Stadium on August 6 after Ulinzi Star hosted the first leg match away in Nakuru.
