Gor Mahia finalize team list
With the 2016 transfer season having ended, the Gor Mahia squad has been finalized. Gor Mahia were the biggest spenders splashing Sh4,470,000 to sign players. Most of that amounted was accounted for by Rwandese Jacques Tuyisenge who was signed from Police of Rwanda at a cost of whooping Sh4million.
Since Rwanda have been eliminated from the CHAN tournament Jacque Tuyisenge should be arriving at Camp Toyoyo shortly after getting adequate rest.Tuyisenge was in the starting line-up for Rwanda during the tourney though he did not score after four matches.His International Transfer Certificate has been processed. Still awaiting an ITC is Jacob Keli and Francis Kahata.
Locally, Gor Mahia paid Sh200,000 for the signature of Luke Ochieng formerly of KCB. The club also paid Sh150,000 to Agro-Chemicals to acquire James Ogada. The rest of the players, who include former AFC Leopards defender Jackson Saleh were acquired on free transfers meaning Gor Mahia just parted with Sh30,000 for each. At the beginning of last season, Gor Mahia spent Sh565,000 to acquire new players.
Goalkeepers: Fredrick Onyango, Bonface Oluoch, Gradus Ochieng, Sammy Okinda.
Defenders: Musa Mohammed, Harun Shakava, Abouba Sibomana, Karim Nizigiyimana, Bernard Odhiambo, Jackson Saleh, Luke Ochieng.
Midfielders: Collins Okoth, Eric Ochieng, Khalid Aucho, Ronald Omino, Ali Abondo, Innocent Wafula, Godfrey Walusimbi, Eric Ouma, Amos Nondi, Edmond Murai, Francis Kahata, James Ogada, Ernest Wendo.
Strikers: Jacob Keli, George Odhiambo, Enock Agwanda, Jacques Tuyisenge
Among the players not listed is Simone Pierre Guidougue
The current Gor team if given good approach can go far in the Africa Champions league, but only IF. Personally I would like to see Natal come up with new methods. Reason being that his tactic here in Kenya has now been exposed to many teams. Gor being constantly on Dstv, then the same can be said about Africa. After watching the going-ons of CHAN one can note the exceptionally high standards displayed by Cameroun, Congo et Ivory Coast. These teams can CLEAN any Harambee Stars side even with the so called European pros. They have seriously exposed the low levels in E.Africa.
The Gor team will however only go far if they can match the same levels of discipline the W. Africa teams have displayed.
Otherwise congrats to the EC led by Rachier. Gor is even stronger than before and has started the year on a strong note. I welcome the new players and would like to see the likes of Keli, Kahata, L.Ochieng et Saleh perform with ‘Adrenalin’.

The squad is good & we only pray that the sponsorship deal be a fully done thing.I see another season that will be tough for K’ogalo on the field but the technical know-how of Nuttal,the ability of the players & the fanatical following by Gor Mahia fans,Gor will still be crowned champions in 2016.
I see a good season, i pray for many trophies, Almighty God may you grant the mighty GOR champions league trophy, team is good, Jacob Kelly should be a box finisher, we need a 4-2-3-1 system or 4-3-2-1, so as to be solid at the back, Aucho should be the engine of this team, Ouma Marcelo a winger and Jowi the super sub, God bless Gor Mahia

As we are waiting for the clarification of the said potential GM sponsors, I have been wondering all along what could be biggest obstacle that has been hindering GM from attracting sponsorship. It hurts me a lot when just few hours ago how AFC.was unveiling their shirt sponsor at NNS. Considering how Ingwe office has been in a war-path with itself the whole season, they had numerous problems that am not able to highlight all of them here right now, yet GM were running smoothly without squabbles results was coming fans were there in their hundreds. My question is, what is it that GM cannot attract potential sponsors? Or is it EC doesn’t have people who can articulate their issues efficiently and appropriately in order to seduce sponsors of which I doubt. Could it be that may be some one with ulterior motive is creating unrealistic demands that is making potential sponsors to shy away? I think there are some questions that need an elaborate answers to the fans, because the office is not being sincere when it come to negotiating with the sponsors how comes nothing concrete never ever comes out.
It is now high time to ask hard questions on the side of EC. It so shameful that AFC can coble something that resemble an office search for sponsor and then negotiate with them conclusively. It is shocking indeed.

Nothing excites as the fact that Gor Mahia has managed to keep intact its squad for last season. Look at other biggies in the kpl, afc…signed a whole team coz they couldn’t hold on akina Saleh, Khamati etc. Come to sofapaka the same story. Even if olunga left, Gor fans must attest to the fact that olunga was not our stationed player….he was an academy bound and he only signed for gor on a one year loan deal which was renewable.. And as for the embattled Kagere, he was growing old and we couldn’t invest all that millions he demanded when we have young and prolific young players. He could have been advised to renew a deal with gor coz at his age he is likely to struggle for a club. Clubs nowadays go for young talents. I know for sure kagere is regretting his decision now that gor will milk from sportsmoney….50m z year. His adviser is terrible. And olunga might return if he fails to seal a deal in Sweden. That explains why his shirt number remains unassigned. A pat on your backs executive committee for good work!!!
