Gor Mahia gives Frank Nuttall one year extension

Good news for Gor Mahia : Frank Nuttall and Gor Mahia have agreed to a one year extension of hos contract.

A top club official revealed to goal.com that the Scott will be back for the 2015 season.

“We have reached an amicable solution and Nutall has penned a one year extension to continue handling the club. Nutall has travelled to his native Scotland but he will return on January 3 to start preparing the team for upcoming assignments.

“We knew that the coach will agree to our proposal and we are happy now that we have tied him (Nutall) to a new one year deal.” said the official to goal.com

Nuttall joined the club mid season and immediately adapted his system to the club with success. Since his tenure began, he has lost only one official match. He was able to breath life back into players like George Odhiambo “Blackberry” and fully utilize the talents of players like Walusimbi and Simon Pierre.

His tactical astuteness and ability to psyche up players and give them confidence was a happy revelation to Kogalo fans many of whom were skeptical of his abilities given that he mostly worked as a fitness instructor.

“We are happy with what he has done here. When we engaged  him in September, people said he is a fitness coach, who can’t help us. Over time he has disapproved all of us.

“Look at the match against Ushuru for example. He started with a strange line-up putting players in unfamiliar positions. That was a brave move and we think he is the best man to do the job here.

“I want to tell fans that Nuttall is going nowhere. We are beginning negotiations soon to decide on the length of his new contract and renumeration. We hope that before he leaves, we will have agreed on a frame work of how everything goes.” continued the official.

Of course should Nuttall continue to have success, there will be various parties chasing him such as the two Tanzanian giants and maybe even the Kenya national team. Which is why Gor Mahia should work towards shoring up its finances.
