Gor Mahia hold Tusker

In a match played at the Mumias complex, Kogalo held runaway league leaders Tusker FC to a goalless draw. Tusker had moved the match to Mumias in order to deter Kogalo’s travelling band of supporters from travelling and playing the crucial 12th man role. They also hoped that the locals who are hostile to Kogalo would show up in significant numbers. It was all in vain as the match was well attended by Kogalo fans.

The match itself was a balanced affair as Kogalo gave as much as they received. They are now placed 5th in the standings with 20 points

  • i think kogalo had better start winning and collecting points for them to avoid last minute rush as was the case last year cos they might rue the draws later in th season.

  • The draw was better than losing three points. Well done the team. Tusker thought by taking the match to Mumias they would deter our fans from travelling but this was not the case. Kogalo has fans all over the country. Next time they should try Garissa or Moyale but we will be there supporting our team.

I thank God for the point, we were there and saw what happened..
    1. I think we are not fighting enough and hope the technical people have seen this.
    2. I think we have also not settled for the game and we see our players are always under pressure.
3.May be musa is struggling with some injury he’s not the Musa of last season..that’s not living in the past.
I cant say expressly that we need more players but there are players in th GM ranks right from the defence through to the attack..anyway we are praying and hoping.. for yesterday good work boys thanks everyone.

Tusker is always our customer these days so it was a big disappointment that we could only manage a draw after the 12th plan played their small part. Our game is dead on the right wing and the more games we play without correcting this position the more we’ll struggle to create chances as the games run out. We have simply lost our attacking flair and we create no chances in front of goal. It’s time we started using Moses Odhiambo and Lavatsa properly. Am deeply worried that Zico is not seeing these. How i wish he got the Harambee Stars job on a permanent basis!

THE GAME CHANGED LONG TIME AGO,WHILE WE STILL HANG TO OUTDATED TACTICS.THOSE APPLAUDING THIS DRAWS WILL BE THE ONES POINTING FINGERS AS WE CHASE POINTS END SEASON.

  • @wuon Pap spot on, you have said it and i will keep saying it, the current team is only good coz of push they are getting from the fans nothing more than that. Gor has many players who are a baggage to the team and i will not fail to call this lot mediocre. I would rather we have 25 good players than the 30 players of which the later majority to me dont add value. What we need in this team is a blend of youth and mature players with the later forming the bigger percentage. We have money more than other teams i must say but what do we have to show for it draws and depending on refs to give us penalties rather than having skilled quality players. I have seen most of the fans are still kidding themselves that we have a good team, to me its nonsense and am saying at this rate no team is going to be scared of us. Indeed i have even heard players from other teams saying to win against Gor just deal with Gatusso and you shall kill their steam. Its quite evident to me this is the case coz we lack depth and a pool of players to draw from. My question is does the coach Zico have any plans to recruit and reorganise this team otherwise to me we in for a long haul my brothers and sisters. Nawambia itakuwa ni team ya madraw and maloses and the weak amongst us will coz more trouble for the club. Please God help us.

Congratulations boys for collecting a point! While i have personal reservations of the western tour to our beloved team, the one point we collected is a much deserved especially at this time when are shaking off the bad ‘jini’ of nyayo.

I must commend the fans especially those who contributes on this page. Am now reading very encouraging comments, the tone and language to the players and tecnical bench has improved. Most of all, fans are slowly becoming aware of their roles. It did not escape my notice of our loyal k’ogalo travelling fans. They’ve brought pomp and color to the stadia. Please note that you’re our ambassodors. In all the towns you gonna be visiting, maintain peace, behave responsibly and simply enjoy the game.

Am proud to be associated with this club.

  • Wuon Pap and Waxme, you have the best interest at heart for this Mighty Club. Pareiyo you don’t. May be you are thinking our league has 40 games this season. It doesn’t. The team is playing badly from midfield upwards. The only playing unit is defence. May be that’s all Zico knows. After all, he was a right back, a defender. He doesn’t have the vision going forward. This was the best season Gor had to win the league and this would carry on with more league titles into the future, the momentum would be unstoppable, only comparable to a tsunami. Unfortunately Zico cannot take us to Galilee. He has played his part and we give him thanks for that. Now he must pave way for a coach with a vision to win games, to attack, to conjure up chances while defending tenaciously (as we already do). Talking of Zico needs time? Will only get us to position 4 on the table, at best. We have a fairly good attack, Lavatsa is brilliant and Moses Odhiambo is a genius, by a long shot. Still you have Duncan Owiti and Kevin Omondi, massive talents. The central midfield has Gattuso, on his day can play in any top league in the world. And there is Viera (most likely will be in Europe next season) and Anguyo. The wings have Kiplagat and Makori. These players can win it for Gor. They showed what they could do last season, and this season was theirs, just like you need more time. Kitawi changed a game for us last season, i think against Mahakama, with a brilliant curler of a free kick and we went on to dominate that game, winning 3-0 or 2-0 (not sure). You have sidelined them and brought ineffective players (Dennis Okoth, Wyliff Opondo et al). You needed to keep Kitawi, now i hear you’ve released him, at most he is 25years old, could only get better. But Zico is not able to put together a formula, recipe for this. We are running out of games. With teams like Sofapaka ready to spend any time and City Stars now in the hands of moneyed foreigners, we must put our act together now or forever fuel hooliganism at the Russia end, coz of lack of much needed victories. Because our refereeing will continue to be poor for a while and the fans will be desperate to latch on every excuse to vent, just coz the team did not deliver a minute earlier. Fans, give your objective opinions to a team you want to win the league, not finish in top 5.

If Tusker take Gor away from the city because of the fans, why cant you get a formidable team to beat them even fi they take the match to Garisa. If it get to a point where teams fear fans and not the playing unit. . . .the Zico you are being rediculed. make some sense out of this and respect your supporters take action before you are seen to be fixing Gor Matches

Hi friends and fans of GM i’ve been re reading the comments and came across one spoting deep problems in GM truly if you hear some issues pupportedly happening in the club you wonder why people as learned as those leaders could be overseeing the vices talked about.. for instance..
    1.Is this tuzo deal real?
2.How comes we’re not playing in the Jerzeys.
3.How can a serious sponsor allow such meddling and pettiness surround an 18 million deal.
    4. What is the relationship between the tuzo deal and Jerzey sales?
Actually.. as a person i’ve always reserved my questions regarding issues bordering on politics and the matters i’ve noted above were being talked about by some people who claimed to have information about them..i wonder.
Guys are even talking of players being paid in cash at the training ground..well its our team… but its a pathetically run team.

Just thinking. I believe its the formation getting us down. The 4.3.3 could be the problem. We played 4.4.2 against mathare in s8 and won 2.0 may be we’re getting it wrong there! I dont believe its even 95% players. For how long shall we sit coveting other teams players? Just thinking.

Of course everybody watched Barcelona, forgive me for thinking Barca were in a practice session. All their players were a joy to watch in their sleek passing game except Abidal who once in a while did that long type clearance.Where was the opposition, none! But is that soccer or some other game out of this planet. I think they should find a new name for that brand. Brazil used to have something near that but not any more. Can we Kogalo be there or just near there? Yes we can. For a start yes get Selenge and Imbem without thinking too much; they are quality players.Over to somebody.

    Reply
  • @jakojera 9, you are very right we need to contact these players and move as fast as we can to get these two players. They literally play the same time of game we play. We also need to target one tall defender. We are actually height-challenged behind. No wonder we conceed a lot of goals from set-pieces. The game against Bandari they had a very cool central defender, so does Chemelil and if we get such then we only need one more offensive midfielder to assist Collo and Viera who are offensive players. I wish we could also get a raw combative central attacker. Such a guy would help us to shield our small-bodied, young and partially inexperienced strikers from the combative native of the league giving them time to give their best. In other words GM needs to have depth in all departments, no wonder we become desperate when certain players are either off-form, injured or suspended. From my perspective the league is still open for any top 8 team to win. In the next few games the top teams will be meeting each other which means they will still lose points and give us a chance to catch up or still be in the top 5 despite not playing our usual best foota.
