Gor Mahia seek refund for Situmbeko deal

courtesy of the Nation

Gor Mahia has pulled the plug on a highly publicized deal to sign Zambian player Julius Situmbeko.

While confirming as much to Nation Sport, club secretary general George Bwana also sensationally accused the speedy forward of “conning the club” of a six-figure amount in sign-on fee, a sum he says the Power Dynamos player “must refund”.

“This is not a player we can trust any more. He should just refund us our cash. He has already said sorry but the relationship is now broken,” Bwana said.

Bwana said the 20-year-old, left-footed forward withheld crucial information during confidential transfer negotiations held in Nairobi last month. Situmbeko was then in the country with Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup participants Zambia.

“We had been following the player’s performances in the Zambian league for some time and our technical team was certain he would be the answer to our problems regarding wing play. When I approached him here in Nairobi he claimed to be a free agent. Now Dynamos are denying this.” Bwana continued.

PURSUE A LIST OF OPTIONS

Bwana said they will pursue a list of options in this saga including petitioning world governing body Fifa to assist in reclaiming their monies.

However, this option could backfire especially considering the Kenyan club might have overlooked a crucial rule regarding player transfers during this process, which states that any club wishing to sign any player must first inform the parent club.

The Times of Zambia quotes the club secretary general Ricky Mafunda as claiming the player is going nowhere.

“Situmbeko was only on national duty in Nairobi, so how can a club claim to have signed him when they did not even approach us” he posed.

This is the third case within the past year that a player transfer process involving Gor is attracting controversy.

Former top-flight club Kakamega Homeboyz accused Gor of illegally trying to acquire their player Harun Sakava.

“This is the second time officials from this team (Gor) are approaching our player without seeking contest. Their club Chairman (Ambrose Rachier) who is a lawyer should know better,” Homeboyz owner Cleophas Shimanyula stated.

Gor were also guilty of ‘signing’ a Brazilian ‘player’ Giovanni Rodriguez last season without watching him play or gauging on his fitness. At the time, the club succumbed to pressure and cancelled the deal.

Bandari deny Kenga departure

Meanwhile, Bandari have denied reports that their star midfielder Shaban Kenga has signed for Gor  Mahia.

In a statement, Bandari technical director Edward Oduor said Kenga is not up for sale and warned Gor Mahia as well as any other team interested in the player to back off.

“Kenga has a valid contract with Bandari and has not been signed by any team as we speak. The reports in the media that Gor Mahia have acquired him are misleading and should therefore be ignore,” Oduor told Sporton!

This is really amazing whats going around but i dare say here that nothing comes easy in life. Do you think our opponents feel happy when good things come our way. We shall be fought left right and center whether we like it or not but then again we are our worst enemy why is it that our officials have never learnt the art of secrecy. Look at Wenger he will deny having made contact with a player and even cleverly avoid talking about the issue. Some of our officials are all puffed up with egos. Why cant they just do these things silently and surprise us by doing a spectacular unveiling of the signed players in broad daylight. About Kenga maybe Oduor is getting heat from somwhere after the matter came out and question were asked about the sale value. It is all mind games good people. Make so much noise to up the players sale value.
Me being the optimist i believe good things will come our way and Gods grace shall shine upon us and the team.

Voltage, I like your optimism perhaps that is the best way to survive as a Kogalo supporter otherwise stress can kill you. I was optimistic as well but now am starting to realize how inept some of the so called EC are. What are we in Gor lacking that other teams have? Management skills, none of the EC members can convince me that they are managers. How comes other clubs are efficiently and with precision, acquiring and signing players quietly without this kind of noise? It is sickening and can easily scare away other potential recruits and even sponsors. I am fed up upto HERE, up at my neck, am almost vomiting!!!

So now who is signed and who is not? If signed, by who and for how much? Is it true that some people could be chasing kickbacks through this exercise? With the CAF deadline fast approaching what is this circus about. When things are this way perhaps then it is time for EACC to immediately come in for investigations.

Can somebody please throw some light on the Blackberry issue,we can fall back on some of our known boys as they are still young and move on.

I think the best thing is for our officials to keep quiet and do their things silently. They can then promise us that on this and this day they will unveil the new signings. We should also as fans not pressurise the officials to tell us who is in and who is out. These things require negotiations and like all have said everybody needs to retain their best players or reap maximum from their sale. This includes Gor. As it is we are in good shape but can do better if the Faiz and co. can learn to keep their mouths zipped. After all some of them had already shown the intention not to contest any GM leadership position.

Comrades, either there is no chain of command or no job specification at Gor Mahia. One time it is GB declaring that Kogalo has signed so and so at other times it is Kilo,Faiz na wengine.Club information should come from one source in this Bwana.Allow me to read politics in this matter.Bwana has declared that he won’t be vying for any position. The other two gentlemen apparently are using this signings as campaign tool. They want to be credited with any major signing that Kogalo makes.I won’t be surprised if there are Kogalo officials going against the grains and stoking this controversies. This is not the first time Gor is signing players. We haven’t had this kind and messes especially with local clubs.Even homeboys.Yawa!

The only players signed so far are i quote “So far, K’Ogalo have signed six players in Ugandan duo of Geoffrey ‘Baba’ Kizito and Godfrey Walusimbi, Jared Obwoge from Chemelil Sugar, Daniel ‘Daddy’ Onyango and Kevin Oluoch both from Western Stima and Joseph Kariuki from Karuturi Sports”. This means Kenga, Shavaka, situmbeko, Rama, Blackberry are just rumours.

Just because some bloggers have sworn to “ignore” my blogs does not mean that this site will not attract new bloggers ready to engage on issues/complaints/hero worship etc etc. Life is never stagnant, along the way one should be ready to make friends / enemies. Convince some & piss off others it matters little coz the sun will set in the evening and raise at dawn and so will Mighty K’galo continue to exist even without you or me. Though I habour no ill will towards my fellow bloggers b4 the elections I do not intend to change my position or campaign neither to I expect you to change yours.

We MUST MOVE AWAY FROM PERSONALITIES (CLASHES) IN GM AND EMBRACE STRUCTURES.
    1) Surely the officials must appoint an ELECTIONS BOARD; the office MUST NOT CONDUCT THE ELECTIONS.
    2) At least let’s have transparent “ballot” basins/ boxes this time.
    3) It would be good if an SGM is held b4 the elections so that matters such as financial statements, performance of the office in general and of every official in particular can be reviewed. The election timetable/process can be agreed upon.
LASTLY ON ELECTION DAY LET THE SOLE AGENDA BE ELECTION OF OFFICIALS AND TALLYING OF THE VOTES. THE ELECTIONS MUST (AND I REPEAT MUST) COMMENCE BY 9.00AM SO AS TO BE COMPLETED IN GOOD TIME.

Ooh Laa la..!”OPERATION REPEAL GM CONSTITUTION”..!

Before the clamor to multi-party democracy in Kenya section 2A had to be repealed at a cost and it came pass. Later on some good Kenya still fought through and it came pass that we now have a devolved system though with its teething problems but the country is heading in the right direction.

The same case now must apply to Gor Mahia f.c to change from a society to a limited company where transparency and accountability will be the norm. And for this to happen we need men and women who will stand out to be counted in broad day light as the masterminds of the project “operation repeal GM constitution”. IT IS EITHER NOW OR NEVER.

The action plan is out and what remains is execution.

ATI…”Situ-Whatever was able to con GM between “30K-50K USD” can’t be taken lightly.

The fact that GB presented a.k.a “Situmbeko” with an under writing on a Gor Mahia letterhead, he only needed to append his signature whether fake or real and within some split seconds Gor Mahia had thrown an equivalent of between 2.6 to 4.3 million kshs down the drain.

NB: GB is not contesting for his re-election and as such your guess can be as good as mine.
HE WILL BE A.W.O.L ON THE ELECTION DAY AND HENCE NOT ACCOUNTABLE..THE EC IS CURRENTLY ACTING ON AN INTERIM BASIS DUE TO THE BOTCHED ELECTION. THESE ARE SUNGURA WA-JANJA.

When SIMBA recently acquired Mapunda and Mosoti, they did send their legal representative to Nairobi to carry out the entire exercise with utmost diligence as expected and everything else ran smoothly.

WHY DOES IT ONLY HAPPEN TO GM AND WORSE STILL WITH OUR OWN “AR” BEING A RESPECTED LAWYER AT THE HELM FOR THAT MATTER?

GB is engaging a FIFA agent in the aftermath of the saga and as usual “Situmbeko” has agreed to refund only 6,000 USD , which according to him was the official sign on agreement fee between him and a very “strange gentleman” who claimed to be a Gor Mahia official.

NOW WHO DO WE BELIEVE OR TRUST? OR WHO IS FOOLING WHO?

Is this SITU-WHATEVER worth 2.4Million signing fee while fans are crying for KAHATA signature? FOOD FOR THOUGHT?

THERE ARE NO TWO WAYS ABOUT THIS OPEN THEFT AND CORRUPTION OF THE HIGHEST ORDER ON GM KITTY THAT INVOLVES SENIOR EC MEMBERS AND THEY WILL HAVE THEMSELVES TO BLAME COME THE ELECTION DAY.

@ Ndugu Mwakio our latter day “Saint” & “Apostle” of gormahia.net, I do hereby humbly request you to freely preach your gospel fervently without fear or worries; but when it comes to pertinent issue’s that touches on the very integrity of GM officials, then just allow us to debate with proven facts and figures devoid of name calling and character assassination. MATUSI NI YA NINI?

THE ADMIN OF THIS SITE HAS SIMPLY PROVIDED A PLATFORM FOR US TO ENGAGE AND DEBATE ISSUE’S PERTAINING TO GM. WITH ALL DUE RESPECT LET RESTRICT OURSELF TO ISSUE’S.

One thing for sure is that GB botched this thing by failing to follow due diligence and for that he must account. Not only has he embarrased Gor mahia but its family too and iam really worried about his standing/character. I want to ask him if this thing bothers his conscious. That money was enough to sign Kahata and Kingatua from Thika with ease and for me better what is tested than what is not. Situmbeko is only in the mind of someones puffed ego and not the reality.
Anyway Gor mahia setup as it is will have little changes in terms governance if there is no good will from the current officials. I still remain optimistic despite all these challenges.

    THIS MAN ODUOR12

Disclaimer: This is an open letter to Oduor12 and other bloggers are under no obligation to read it, however should you read it and feel rubbed the wrong way, kindly accept and move in the spirit of the blog.

It is only the 3rd day of the New Year and already the pressure cooker that this blog is is almost exploding. Reason: one great son of Gor Mahia nation and an icon in this blog post has for some strange reason irked a few honorable bloggers and they are not mincing their words. Yes they won’t mask their feelings either. As usual names have been called and unprintable words for the first time in a long time have been printed in the name of barbs towards this ‘nuisance’ of a man. The amazing thing is that Oduor12 has not insulted anyone; Oduor12 has not deleted anyone’s post neither has he denied any K’Ogalo fan a chance to blog. The persistence of Oduor12 has generated a level of intolerance that we buried in this site about 4 years ago. The amount of vitriol poured on Oduor12 has demonstrated once again how much we the Gor Mahia community (read Luos) are poor managers of our emotions. Why, if I may ask, should my wife and family be enjoined in my insults if the prime target of the insults and name calling is me? The blog administrators’ call for bloggers to be civil was well-informed.

Oduor12’s consistence and persistence has indeed confounded friend and foe. Those bloggers who have been around for awhile will agree that we are seeing a man evolve before our very eyes. There must be a reason. Let us pause for a moment and think of the reason behind this. Yes, you got it right. I shall not condemn Oduor12’s critics, but instead I will ask for patience and tolerance. Oduor12 is not a villain as he is being portrayed. His main undoing is his high standard of efficiency and intolerance of non/underperformance. What Oduor12 is making noise about is creation of structures that will give way to the running of Gor Mahia as a professional outfit, and that has been the clarion call of all well-meaning friends of Gor Mahia in this blogpost.

To Oduor12 your actions today have proved that a skunk whether sprayed with barrels of perfume will still remain a skunk. Yes, you changed your alias (something you really did not have to do) but your postings are still very characteristic of you. In other words the change of alias will only raise emotions but serve no meaningful purpose. Kindly revert back to your true alias. It is an alias that is synonymous with this blog. It is an alias that has seen you face and overcome many adversities in the name of K’Ogalo. Remember in Hell it is only Oduor12 that is known. Do you remember the way you looked at Lucifer in the eye and dared him to touch any of the four when we were in hell? Common comrade. Your kind of consistent persistence is only found in great freedom fighters. It is that kind of determined persistence that won freedom and independence for the oppressed. At your hour of need I shall not abandon you. I stand by you, great worker. Soldier on.

There is nothing of being consistent here brother but continuos repetitions unless you are reading from a different angle or higher definition or double classes. I think we have very many empty minds in this blog trying to wear clothes which are not their sizes. This is not an insult but an observation.

@ Jamigori am with you some people in this blog think that they are more intellectual than others ,to the individuals who think that by using big terminologies in this blog will make us to hide our faces and prevent us from telling the truth,we wont keep quiet and i will be there always to speak about what i feel is for the development and betterment of this great club.If you proceeded well with your education and in case you did psychology whether in your degree or masters, you should have known that there is no day that different people will think the same way even identical twins cant think the same way, again different people will never be satisfied with what an individual is doing and that is why when someone is a leader and he has people below him, he cant satisfy all of them.this is why you will get some supporting the leaders and some are opposing him and that is something common in our societies.in short no one should try to bulldoze the bloggers with their opinion because i believe here we are just sharing opinion.secondly if you did some history and political science and i mean deeply, freedom was not got through criticism and bulldozing of ideas.so to the opinion leaders and the gate keepers of this blog who think that they are always correct and can not be shown the right way while misleading others,my friends we will not shy off from telling you the truth.Am also a human being, when am wrong i stand to be corrected and i will not take it negatively.i will always be among the first people to talk against the officials when they are misleading us at the same time i will give them credit where they deserve.so don’t threaten us by using big terminologies or changing your name because you were told the truth.think about it and ask yourself why are these three or four or five people against me and get the solution.Boggers i will still repeat that we are here to develop gor mahia and each and everyone is entitled to his own opinion, but what we should know is that, the freedom that we have to contribute our views here, doesn’t guarantee myself or someone else to think with me the same way even if am cheating bloggers in broad day light, contribute your opinion but don’t bulldoze us with it,to those who will be with you it is well and good and to those who will reject it accept and move on without altering your name or doing some funny things, this is simply because we can not all think the same way.

To some extent i must agree that excitement often get the better of our Leaders and they loose focus on very critical issues. This signing saga is important ad it’s emotive. GBhas been a polished SG but on this he has let me down. I will concur that you don’t zign players of International repute on the streets eets just to please us. If we have given you a job to do, do it well and have answers when we raise questions. Don’t seek to exite us just because we’re easily excitable. At one point it won’t wash and. People will be hard to convince. My take be discreet in your moves bu give us results.i

…Some professor of psychology who has been eavesdropping for years makes the statement that “The best minds discuss ideas; the second in ranking talk about things; while the third group, or the least in mentality, gossip about people”… (Hardware age, Volume 123, 1929)

Fellow bloggers, it is important to note that we bloggers are not prisoners of fate, but only prisoners of their own minds.

It is time we discuss great ideas on how to build Gor Mahia without focusing on how much we have learnt from our postgraduate or undergraduate studies or grammar classes. Please you can colour your resume with these expressions. However, they have no meaning (utterly useless) if we do not apply them to change the environment where we live.
