Gor Mahia tie Al Ahli 1-1

The friendly match between Gor Mahia and Libyan side Al Ahli Tripoli, ended in a 1-1 draw on Saturday. It was the Libyans who took the lead before Samuel Onyango equalized with a spectacular volley.

The match was billed as a way to show CAF and FIFA that the Nation of Libya is safe enough to host international matches. Libya has been in the throes of a civil war for years. The City of Benghazi in particular has bore the brunt of the war.

Gor Mahia received a warm reception both on an off the field as the Libyan fans were happy to see a foreign team on their soil.

The match was evenly balanced. But the Libyan side had the upper hand. Like a typical North African side, their passes were sleeker and they created more clear-cut chances.

Their best chance came on the stroke of halftime when keeper Boniface Oluoch handled a backpass. Al Ahli were awarded a freekick in the penaly box. The resulting freekick caused a goalmouth melee in which Al Ahli had numerous chances to score.

The latest he said that Homeboys will beat Gor even if the match is played in heaven just because Gor switched the match from Machakos to Kisumu. Kisumu fans should behave this time by paying at the gate and specifically this group of fans who come playing drums it ok they are doing a good job but this idea of going to the stadium then they collect themselves by the gate in a large group then collect kshs 50/= which they use to bribe their way into the stadium should stop those who will be in charge look into that.

Some years ago Joel Nyaseme gave Gor Mahia KES 1 million and we all clapped and said he had done well. President Uhuru Kenyatta and Sonko each give K’Ogalo KES 2 million and we say they are good men. Moses Kuria, the same. At the end of the day where is that money? Sustainability comes into question. Gor Mahia Augmentin Fund is giving Gor Mahia supporters an opportunity to also ‘do well’ by giving K’Ogalo KES 1700 every year.

Chairman Ambrose Rachier remarked in an interview recently that the Gor Mahia fan has a mindset of always being given freebies and not giving. Let us seize this opportunity to change that mindset. We are capable of sponsoring the team. Let us be the ones to put something in that begging bowl that our chairman walks around with for the club’s financial aid

My good friend and admin of gormahia.net, kindly join us so that we can sell the Gor Mahia Augmentin Fund agenda together. Our initiative is a noble one and it would do even better with your very special participation in one way or another.

We have been part of you for over a decade and therefore you know our commitment to Gor Mahia F.C. I believe you are convinced that this time we have resolved to actualize the many great ideas that are gathering dust in the shelves of this forum. Ndugu yangu I implore you not to ignore this request. Lastly, please free the airwaves. People like Odhis Muga no longer see their posts delivered and that alone is chasing bloggers away.

The coach should start thinking on how other players who are not regularly fielded to be given a chance ie Rolack, Samuel etc lest they rot on the bench
