Additional reporting from the Nation

Ivorian striker Yikpe Ghislain missed a penalty as Kenyan Premier League (KPL) champions Gor Mahia drew 2-2 in a friendly match at Camp Toyoyo grounds on Thursday.

Yikpe blasted wide over the bar after Alliance defender Wema Sadoki had earlier handled it inside the box with K’Ogalo trailing the visitors 2-1.

The former Tanzanian league champions took the lead in the first half when Kheri Mohamed slotted in an easy ball past his fellow countryman and Gor Mahia goalkeeper David Mapigano.

Gor responded five minutes later to restore parity with Kennedy Otieno’s long range shot wrong footing John Mwenda in the Alliance goal.

John Tegete restored the visitors’ lead in the 40th minute after Gor Mahia defenders Joachim Oluoch and Charles Momanyi failed to clear the ball.

Charles Momanyi gave K’Ogalo the equaliser in the 85th minute after heading Boniface Omond’s free kick past Mwenda.

Bwana Mneja you are also not serious. What are you fire-fighting? I go to bed at midnight when the thread on the wall is about DC Motema Pembe and when I wake up, I find two quick fires: Philemon’s woes followed by the outcome of the friendly. Beans Mneja I have chosen to address you this way so that you don’t use your immense powers to block my comment. Are we not supposed to sleep? When were we supposed to ventilate on the very weighty matter of Philemon’s? Nisamehe Kama nimekukwaza.

Meanwhile just breaking from Cairo,Gor Mahia have moved from position 24 to 19 in the latest CAF club ranking with 296 points.Only Simba SC (20) are above Gor Mahia in the East African region.

@Jakoyo, thank you for the tip off lakini matatizo tumeyazoea. Now these CAF things should be coming with some cash attached. There should be some appreciation money to reward Gor Mahia for rising from 24 to 19.

Apparently those who for, peculiar reasons, keep score on the number/quantity of comments have somehow “failed” to express their “concern” on the very few comments on the post on Philemon’s plight.
A case of see no evil etc, etc?
Why has EC neglected our Philemon so?
