By the way what happened to Boniface Oluoch? Even in this list he is missing

Are you asking about Oluoch the goalkeeper? If so, he is in the traveling squad and was on bench last Sunday at Kasarani.

    1) What will be the name of the fund?
“Cut your coat according to your size”.(See tentative budget)
    2) How many players and who in the TB will the proposed fund support?
    3) How is should the fund pay each position?
    4) What will be the contributions, how are they to be paid? Note the lower the contribution the more affordable it will be but also the more the members.

I suggest that we should also have a registration fee, this will be a sign of commitment. Just my opinion though

Suggestions on Mission and Regulations of the Fund.
    1) The Fund is independent of but complimentary to the EC.
    2) The fund will only be used to pay agreed amounts in salaries and training (fare) allowances of Gor Mahia players and TB in order to try and alleviate the recurrent go slows and boycott by the playing unit due to delayed payments. Any salaries or allowances above the agreed amounts remain the responsibility of the EC as well as the day to day running of the club.
    3) All services rendered to the Fund are voluntary.
    4) The fund will only pay salaries for players and TB who have valid running contracts with GMFC. The players and TB must be rendering active service to the club unless injured. The EC will provide the Fund with the start and end contract dates of the players/TB.
Due to limited resources players /TB away on trails should be paid by the interested club and not the fund.
    5) Payments from the fund can only be made strictly to players personal bank accounts. Payments to shared or proxy accounts are not allowed. This is to safeguard strict accountability.
    6) The fund will deduct from the players’ salaries and remit to the government the relevant statutory deductions, PAYE, NSSF and NHIF. The players will net paid net.
    7) The above will ensure that the fund does not run afoul with KRA etc but also that GM players and their families are pensionable (NSSF) and medically insured (NHIF).
    8) Therefore before any player/TB member is paid from the fund the following are required: personal bank account, KRA PIN, NSSF and NHIF.
    9) The is not liable for any breach of contract penalties that may arise between any player/TB and the club.
    10) The fund will not pay any salaries in arrears or in advance, hence EC must provide information required in good time.
    11) Amendments to the list of payees by the EC can only be done after the official transfer season. New players can only be added after the Fund receives an ok medical report from the team doctor.

      11) Funds allowing and due to the fact that injuries are a reality in competitive football, the fund will strive to insure the players/TB so that they continue receiving their salaries as they recuperate incase of long term injuries as long as they remain GM players. This will lessen the financial burden on the Fund

        13) Any surplus funds (in excess of 3 months budget) should immediately be invested in an interest earning account with a stable government bank to be used in paying future salaries.
        14) Players to be paid from the fund will be prioritized by merit/service to the club. Criteria of priority regular first eleven, fielded substitutes, players making match day team etc.
        15) The Fund will provide a monthly statement of income and expenditure detailing income raised and players/TB payments made. To the EC the Fund will provide detailed breakdown of the transfer to each player’s account, plus the receipts/slips of the PAYE, NSSF and NHIF payments.

          The tentative budget.
          Assumptions:
Budget based on the fact that GM is currently restricted to local competitions.
Winning bonus are not covered by the fund since these can be determined and paid by the EC from the prize monies.
Head coaches salary based on Oktay’s figure.

          Monthly Budget
          Players Salaries A
          20 players@75,000=1,500,000
          Players Salaries B
          6 players @ 60,000 = 360,000
          Head Coach. =. 350,000
          Asst Coach. =. 175,000
          GK coach/Trainer. =. 100,000
          Team Doc. retainer.=. 50,000
          Team Manager. =. 100,000
          Salary insurance
          for 31 players/TB. =. 250,000
          Surplus carried fwd. = 165,000
          Total. = 3,000,000
Target membership/ contributers per month 25,000
          Monthly contribution required kes.120.

The surplus can be used for an extra medical cover for player injuries, fund expenses which should be kept at a minimum but ideally carried forward to pay future salaries.
          Important issues raised so far.
          1) Membership or joing fee of kes.200.
          2) Need for the fund to be a legal entity.

Enough from me over to you fellow bloggers for your feedback, insights, thoughts, additions, deductions.

Thank you my brother. The project seeks to augment (strengthen) Gor Mahia by extending a hand where the EC has fallen short. Ours is to strengthen the weak areas and as we said
    1. our focus will be the players and TB.
    2. the contributions must be affordable.

Being affordable means 200/- annual Gor Mahia membership registration fee and 125/- monthly contribution. I realize that Sam Muga is suggesting that members who are 21 so far should register with some fee. It is a good suggestion. However, I am of the view that this membership should be free and instead we should work out with the EC on our members registering as Gor Mahia members. I say this because if we can raise the GM registered membership to our targeted 25000, then
    1. Dan’s idea of a K’Ogalo credit card will be fast tracked.
    2. Oduor12’s idea of season tickets will just fall in place. This will translate into stable bank accounts for the club. 200 x 25000 = 5M per year.

Once these 25000 are registered with the club, they will now remit 125/- per month or 1500/- per year to this fund. 125 x 25000 = 3,125,000/- p.m. or 37,500,000/- per year.

How do we get 25000 members? Aggressive countrywide sensitization. We will traverse this country to talk to college and university students. We will visit work places, schools and places of worship to market the idea. We will distribute fliers and brochures to sell the project during KPL and rugby matches. This is what working for Gor Mahia means. If we cover from Mombasa to Lodwar, Marsabit to Isebania, team we can surpass that 25000 by far. Infact we now need only another 24979 now that Wichkuot has taken Rama Salim’s jersey number.

We are suggesting possible names of the fund and I propose Augmentin Gor Mahia since our mission is to strengthen the club. I believe we shall arrive at a name soon so that we can get a paybill number and WhatsApp group.

Ndugu Jagem Oremo my comments are being withheld. I have appealed to Mneja to support this fund by freeing the airwaves. I prosed that because our mission is to augment the club, we should name this fund Got Mahia Augmentin Fund. There is something bigger that I am aiming at by pi King the word Augmentin. Augmentin is a very good antibiotic for treating lung infections. You can guess my target.

We need a tyrany of numbers to be able to pay the salaries. We cannot achieve that in a matter of weeks. Let us get everything right from the beginning. Legal and society act matters are important. Paybill number and WhatsApp group all need a group name. Those are things we need to put in place.

I propose we adopt the name and also use it as the WhatsApp group as well as the Facebook a/c name.
There is another Gor Mahia facebook a/c which has 81K members.

Can we start forwarding our mobile numbers to BB to facilitate the opening of a WhatsApp group

Great people we are in agreement that
    1. Our focus will be players and the Tech Bench. Oduor12 has laid out a very good framework for this.
    2. Our monthly contributions must be affordable
    3. Our mission is to strengthen (augment) Gor Mahia by lending a hand in those areas where the EC has fallen short.
We shall in no way be seen to be fighting the EC even as we operate our independent financial management.

We have hit a membership of 21. We only have 24979 to reach our target. We shall surpass 25000 once we embark on a very aggressive marketing and sensitization of this project. We shall traverse this country visiting schools, colleges, universities and places of worship to sell Gor Mahia Augmentin Fund. We shall distribute fliers and brochures at venues of KPL matches. If we do this from Lodwar to Lungalunga, Isebania to Moyale and Lamu to Busia I am seeing us having more than 25000 registered members of Gor Mahia F.C.

    Affordability means we pay 125/- p.m. or 1500/- p.a.
    125 x 25000 = 3,125,000/- p.m. or 37,500,000/- p.a.
Allow me to tentatively start a WhatsApp group named Gor Mahia Augmentin Fund with this number 0748 844 410. You can also call or text on the same number. I want to thank brothers Jamal, Albert Kosero and George Ambayo for getting in touch. May the rest also contact me so that they can be added to the group.

  • @BB thanks for your untiring efforts. How about the proposal of Kshs 200/= annual subscription.
Then the monthly contribution of Kshs 125/=

The annual subscription could be designated for investment and dividends and or nterest earned therefrom, can be used to defray administrative costs.
Looking into the future we will need a facility where we could host a fully fledged secretariat.

The monthly contributions is strictly TB and Playing unit emoluments / insurance to the last coin

@oduor 12, I think in as much as your assumptions are good, they will complicate matters considering we are at start stage.

My suggestion is that we start off with weekly allowances of a fixed amount to technical bench and players to cover their allowances then gradually scale it up to what you are proposing.
