Judith Nyangi, who was recently locked out of the forthcoming elections by a new procedure , has accused chairman Rachier of using negative tactics to dissuade opponents from running for the Chairmanship

Gor Mahia organising secretary Judith Nyangi has claimed Ambrose Rachier threatens candidates interested in challenging him for the chairmanship post.

Nyangi and Rachier have been at loggerheads recently following the requirements of the election that every candidate running for any post in the August 8 vote must possess a degree.

The organising secretary claimed those requirements are meant to lock her out of the race for the honorary treasurer’s post.

Nyangi, in an interview with Radio Jambo, alleged Rachier, who did not attract an opponent before the nomination process closed, is always issuing threats.

“Rachier is a man of threats,” Nyangi said.

“He has been clear to me over a number of occasions that Gor Mahia is his. The Sports Act is clear that no one should serve more than two terms and if anyone dares stand against Rachier, he will be threatened by him.

“Rachier has been saying that anything he has built he cannot allow anyone to take it away from him. He has been there since 2008 does it mean he is a Gor Mahia’s life chairman?

“I have been wondering whether Gor Mahia are a community club or a private club.”

Nyangi further claimed Rachier’s dictatorial tendencies have denied Gor Mahia proper growth compared to other regional clubs.

“He should vacate office for other people now. Yes, Gor Mahia have been winning cups but what I know is that Gor Mahia are more than winning cups,” she added.

“At this time, we should be at the same level as Yanga SC and Simba SC, teams that have been robbing players from us. They are capable of taking our players because Gor Mahia are being run like a kiosk.

“The politics now at Gor Mahia is that everyone must support the ‘deep state’ and if you do not support the ‘deep state’ that is Rachier you should not be in the office in the first place.

“There is only one man that I will never oppose and that is Raila Amollo Odinga [the former Prime Minister].”

The deep state, mostly used in the political arena, is a body of people, typically influential members of government agencies or the military, believed to be involved in the secret manipulation or control of policies.

But Rachier, in a separate interview, explained why members might have opted not to challenge him.

“That depends on an individual’s interpretation [whether he has done a good job at Gor Mahia or not],” Rachier said.

“I have on many occasions welcomed people interested to stand against me to come forward and that was before our nomination process was closed.

“When the nomination process ended, it emerged that I did not have an opponent. It may be because I have done a good job or otherwise.

“I am thankful to the members who have shown confidence in me. Members should come out and elect officials to the positions that are still vacant when the time arrives.”

Dissatisfied K’Ogalo members have already threatened to take matters to the Sports Disputes Tribunal (SDT) and stop the elections.

Good riddance. Gor Mahia at this level does not need uncouth illiterate people like Judith Nyangi Artillery to run the professional affairs of the team. The likes of Nyangi have been taking advantage of the club by soliciting funds from well-wishers but such monies have never found their way into the club coffers.

Leadership at the helm of the club requires all aspirants to have at least minimum of an undergraduate degree as running the club is not a walk in the park. We need officials of the club that can think and reason strategically not not busybodies that can not even write a proposal or speak proper and refined English to any potential sponsors.

Nyangi, you need to find another form of excuse to de-campaign ADOR. This argument does little to hold water. Negative antics cannot stop one from contesting for any seat in any democratic society.

Fact is: the Club has streamlined the requirements to offer oneself for leadership (like any other institution can and does). Interested parties need to meet the set-skills/qualifications or let-go/live to fight for another day. Period.

I would wish the new in-coming team well. They need to implant professionalism/better club management.

Without any bias I don’t think nyangi can do the job of a treasurer for Gor. It requires a level of integrity and professionalism that she does not possess.
This is not a Chama organization that me and you can be called upon to keep the treasure. It requires much more than just being popular with the masses. It’s a serious job!!

I agree with Nyangi in spirit. Even former chairman Erastus Okul said that Rachier has intimidated others from contesting. This is the first time I have seen a Chairman run unopposed.
Either way Rachier can do a lot more to modernize this team so Kogalo can compete with for Africa cup and not lose their best players every year

What do you agree with? That’s what you do in your house if you disagree with your family? You go and broadcast it to Tom and hurry.? There are things that we don’t have to talk in public however bad it’s more so if you are a leader. Be responsible, be it in your house or in public. If you are beaten by your wife, do you start telling people you were beating ? Come on man.

So Gor Mahia is whose family?
What secrets don’t you want the public to know?
Lack of transparency and accountability have cost the club greatly.
So much hype about officials yet we’ve just lost a key player due to mismanagement for which ADOR bears the greater responsibility than Nyangi.
That said I think Nyangi mistimed her tantrums, ADOR is already unopposed.
She could have opposed him for the chairman’s post as she is:
        1) Clearly not frightened of him,
        2) Degree issue aside, she is more qualified for the chairman’s post than the treasurer’s.

Betking contract review needed a lawyer – Rachier and or Wasuna-
        – Mobilization, networking etc- Sam Ochola
        – Hon Treasurer – A finance professional- Chrispine Okoth.

If you are beaten in your house, you report it to the police and to your relatives. If you don’t your spouse might kill you someday

@Jatingare, Nyangi and Okul do not have academic credentials as required by the club rules and regulations on governance as they are not fit and proper for any position at the club. May be they can try their lucks to lead branch(es) or form their branch(es) but national office is a no go zone to these semi-illiterate duo. If the qualification requirements are what are called intimidations, then let it be so.

At this level with modern football requirements, we need serious officials who are “fit and proper” to articulate and execute the club objectives and develop a strategic plan. We have been where we are due to being led by semi-illiterate officials as they have continued to fight meaningful and better changes meant for transforming the club.

Somo kare gima ber ndi. It shapes your understanding and horn your leadership skills. Why behave like a villager yet from primary certificate that we have seen, she schooled in Nairobi. Is her certificate genuine or fake because that a lone is enough to expose her to the outside world. Go back to school to style up.

It is sad that Bernard Omondi is leaving because no official/ the office (if one exists at GMFC) has deemed is necessary to initiate contract renewal talks with him.
Joash Onyango have complained of the same.
Is it Nyangi and Rachier who will take the field against the likes of Zamalek, Esperance etc to defend and score goals?
The chairman and organising secretary of the club are already elected unopposed and should stop the haemorrhage at the club.
There is a possibility of CAF matches starting before our league begins or soon after.
