Kenneth Muguna puts pen to paper

Midfield ace Kenneth Muguna is rejoining Kogalo after an unsuccesful stint in Albania with KF Tirana. That club has been an unhappy hunting ground for several players including Meddie Kagere, Musa Mohamed and Francis Kahata.

Also rejoining Gor Mahia is midfield maestro Kenneth Muguna, who had a brief stint with K’Ogalo, before joining Albania’s FC Tirana.

According to Aduda, the 22-year-old Muguna, who was voted 2016 KPL player of the year while plying his trade with Western Stima before joining Gor Mahia last season, has signed a three-year deal which will tie him to the club till October 2021.

“I want to confirm that we have already signed Batambuze and Muguna and are still chasing five more players, who will help bring balance in the team as we look to defend the league title and at the same time make an impression at the continental level”, Aduda said via phone on Wednesday.

He added that the club is looking to recruit a top striker, central defender, offensive left, offensive right and holding midfielder on recommendation from the team’s technical bench.

“I have lined up a meeting with the Gor Mahia technical bench, who should be able to tell me the players they want me to bring in and at the same time recommend, who should be released to create room for the incoming players,” Aduda said.

Aleast three players will axed from the current squad, while several others will be loaned to other clubs, as the club looks to have a lean squad.

Am already talking to Sofapaka President Elly Kalekwa to do a swap on permanent basis he keeps Teddy Osok whose loan spell is over and should return to GM and give us Dennis Odhiambo we add him 500k on top…Mathare as always Bob Munroe doesn’t like Gor getting Mathare players but Cliff Nyakeya was our youth prodigy infact while trying out with the Senior team in early 2014 Bobby Williamson refused to heed my advice and keep the young lad around hence his continued sojourn with the youth team before Mathare snapped him. We will see how it goes….These are just negotiations stages though

Jakoyo, a free agent can be signed anytime. The only thing remaining is to submit papers to FKF when the window opens. And that’s when the player can play

Stop your stupidity Jakoyo are you mad or what? We have signed free agents as Dan has educated you above. Which horses mouth is this you are waiting to hear from or is it your girlfriend Nyangi? We have followed due process approved by the club Chairman so you keep on waiting for your horse Nyangi and imminent AGM to rock whichever boat you will please but i assure you it will not be GM that you rock. We are heading into a new season and are busy preparing while madmen like you are opposing every good deed and spoiling for more infighting within the club so we can break apart and become like Afc. Hiyo hutaweza kama unaskianga kuna wenye club utajua ni ukweli. Some of us have invested too much and Gor will Never break or shutter as long as we exist. K’Ogalo have already roped in Shafik Batambuze and Kenneth Muguna as they strive to beef up the squad for next season

Gor Mahia have intensified their push to strengthen the squad ahead of Caf Champions League next season.

Already, the Kenyan champions have signed two players – Shafik Batambuze and Kenneth Muguna – and are in the market for Sofapaka midfielder Dennis Odhiambo and former youth player Cliff Nyakeya, who plays for Mathare United.

Goal now understands that K’Ogalo have also inquired for the services of Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana, who was part of the Rayon Sports squad that reached the quarters of Caf Confederation Cup and lost to Enyimba of Nigeria.

“All I can tell you is that we are in the market to sign players. We want a very strong squad that can compete in all fronts for next season. Maybe, he is one of those we are targeting,” Gor Mahia CEO Omondi Aduda

On Wednesday, Gor Mahia captured the services of Muguna, who was part of the team that won the title in 2017, but opted to try professional football in Albania with KF Tirana.

Muguna was handed a three-year contract just days after the club unveiled former Tusker midfielder Batambuze on a two-year contract.

The much-traveled Ugandan is expected to add depth in K’Ogalo’s rank ahead of what promises to be a tough season as they prepare to defend the title as well as a chance to better their display in Caf Champions League.

    Goal Kenya.

K’Ogalo have already roped in Shafik Batambuze and Kenneth Muguna as they strive to beef up the squad for next season

Gor Mahia head coach Dylan Kerr has welcomed new signings Shafik Batambuze and Kenneth Muguna saying they will add depth to the team.

Batambuze signed a two-year deal, one less than Muguna, who opted for a three-year contract with the defending champions. Kerr has however, warned over expecting a smooth ride in the team saying they have to show they deserve a place in the squad.

“I welcome both of them, they are good players with experience and that is a plus to the team. It will give us more depth in the busy 2018/19 season; I am glad they have accepted to join us.

“It will not be a walk in the park for them, they have to work hard and fight for their place in the team. It is not going to be easy for them, they have to show that they are the best to deserve a position in the team,” Kerr told Goal in an interview.

K’Ogalo are also in the market for Sofapaka midfielder Dennis Odhiambo, former youth player Cliff Nyakeya, who turns out for Mathare United and Rayon Sports striker Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana.
