Logarusic drags Rama out of U23 camp

There was drama at the Kenya under 23 training camp at Nyayo Stadium on Wednesday when Gor Mahia coach Zravko Logarusic forcibly removed Rama Salim from the training pitch.
The incident left coach James Nandwa furious as he contacted the federation to explain to them what had transpired.
According to Gor Mahia secretary General George Bwana, Salim had just arrived from Mombasa to attend to his grandmother’s burial and upon arriving in Nairobi went for light training with his club Gor Mahia.
As he was in his way to the club’s offices at Nyayo Stadium he was apparently hijacked by coach Nandwa and asked to train with the rest of the team.
It is at that point that coach Logarusic got word of Rama’s training and he walked straight to the training ground and ordered Rama to leave the pitch .
“We had an agreement with the federation to release to them four players but it became apparent Rama could not be in the team as he was going for a compassionate leave and was still nursing a knock from the weekend game. But after he arrived and had light training under the supervision of the coach he was hijacked by coach Nandwa and forced to train that is why coach Logarusic decided to get him out of the training.”
“Our intentions have always to help the national team but we had a deal with them to release the players and yet some clubs had completely refused to do the same so we feel they should also abide by our rules,” Bwana told SuperSport.com.
Nandwa was furious after the episode, “I have never seen anything like this how can a coach come and remove a player from camp?” he posed.
“We tried to talk to Logarusic but he refused to listen and that is when we decided to report to the federation who have vowed to take action on him,” Nandwa told SuperSport.com.
The Kenya under 23 side is preparing to take on Botswana in an international friendly to be played on Thurday 12th at the Nyayo Stadium in Nairobi.
Great move coach Zdravko Logarusic. Don’t burge, just maintain that stand.
Nandwa please !!!! You cannot forcibly make a player attend your training session especially if he is nursing injuries. Upuzi gani hii ? This is why Kogalo was an injury plagued team during the 1st leg. Well done Logarusic.
this FKL is just a silly organiization players earn their money from clubs not this money spinning friendlies organised by this football body they should know people ,surely if EUFA is going to pay clubs for their players participation in the euro this clearly tells us where we are ,too behind all those who care and live around embakasi airport imara daima,AA, kwajenga , pipeline ,baraka ,nyayo etc we are meeting on 22nd at two at natinal pertol station opposite taj mall come all lads call 0701459421 ask for jabes
PAREYIO
Once again, with a heavy heart, wish to inform comrade bloggers that I have changed my username on this blog to only PAREYIO. My decision was informed by only one reason;
09 was the official number of Baldin Ngwa who was recently axed from Gor Mahia squad, and who I had the greatest admiration and affection. His exit at K’Ogalo was a great blow particularly to me and all his adoring fans. The Cameroonian was able in a very short span of time to command a huge following at the club because of his commitment and talent. On behalf of his loyal supporters, I wish him well ion his endevours.
Meanwhile, I’ll continue to blog as PAREYIO untill I get an appropriate replacement. On the alleged coach Logarusic mannerism when he went todemand his player from coach Nandwa, i think media should not blow the incident out of proportion. Coach Nandwa must also be honourable enough and follow the laid down procedures when calling players for national duty from clubs. Likewise coach Logarusic must use civil ways to have his way. Or can I say Logarusic is a quick learner ? Who whispered to him that in Africa rules are not followed?
Hahaha this is the best news i have read today.
Jokes, jokes, how can a whole national coach hijack a player in this manner.Wasn’t Rama picked by Kimanzi and then was the first to be dropped from the senior national team? And if you ask me of all those players Kimanzi paraded could Rama have been the worst of all? What has suddenly changed that he is now so prized and must even be forced in to the team through unorthodox means. Even with an injury? Even if not in the right frame of mind for a game like this after having attended grandmothers burial? Tell us anothr joke Mr Nandwa and your federation. I am watching to see what kind of action the so called federation are going to take, very worrying trend indeed.
To Nandwa and FKF in general, may I remind you that Newton’s third law of motion is still in existance: “For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction”.
Nyamweya take action bwanaaa.GOR ORUMO TEEEEE
Is this not the same under 23 team that lost to Uganda 5-1 as officials sat in the VIP stand reading newspaper? Rama is our main man and we can not have him play 3 matches in one week plus the trainings. Not at all, he’ll be worn out. Harambee stars ignored us just few days ago now they need Rama, I say No.
I don’t think this friendly is necessary. With this kind of preparation, Kenya may lose today’s U23 match against Botswana with a very big margin and drop further in World FIFA ranking.
These are useless friendlies….Rama has been overlooked by Kimanzi and Nandwa is not an angel either to change the fortunes of our Kenyan footaball. And as a matter of fact, Nandwa has been a failure in all club football.
Look at his record and credentials in Tusker, Karaturi and now Rangers.
FKL are jokers and busy milking Stars without any concrete plan of developing football in the country. These guys are after eating but no football interest at all. I just wonder who elected the greedy hyenas with no history in football.
We strongly need Jesus Christ to save us.
Mr. LOgarusic you are spot on.we cant say that we want to improve our football and close our eyes on professionalism. All aspect of football in this country needs to be run professionally and with respect. Rama’s talent is required for this country and for us to have him his injury must be rested. No one consulted the team Physician and Zdravko has all the rights to treat the whole issue so. Let us embrace the new and professional dimension of running football.
. . . let FKF first develop football in secondary schooles and colleges, rather than wasting taxpayer’s money on such useless, meaningless games! FKF should erect a new training ground for the upcoming players and not pushing them to idiotic matches which bears no meaning at all! Poorly run federation with a know-nothing Nyamweya!
Coaches we are behind you dont warry about FKFor KPL you are on the right direction.
Brother Pareiyo..Its good you admired Baldwin Ngwa that much. I think his immediate Jerzey was No. 28. No 9 has been won by Love-a-Star for the past and current season.
On Rama i blame both parties..FKF for not having a proper football management structure and The Coach for denying Rama a chance to represent his country. Local arrangements are practiced all over the world.
To so many people Rama needs Harambee stars more than Harambee stars need him. We may only end up carrying arrogance with us now that we are winning but Rama needs to know that serious clubs outside our country will gauge your suitability and caliber depending on national teams call ups.
It was very responsible and manly thinking for Rama to begin training with the national side before being whisked away by the coach.
I still think if we want to be good then we must be prepared to behave the way the best teams do. In the Big leagues there are so many games, for instance..The English teams play The EPL, Carling, FA and the Champions league.Mark you the winners of all these trophies are often those who participate in all these tournaments. Our players must be brought up to work as professionals and play more matches.
We also need to be humble in order to go far, let us think of our players well being in that we should promote ventures that will lead them to getting big opportunities rather than fighting to keep them with us earning peanuts and seeing them miserable tomorrow.
The one sure way to big opportunities is national call ups.
Guys Nandwa is a fully trained coach and is why he’s a national team coach, he does not deserve the bizzare name calling he’s getting here just because we are winning currently.
Thank you Rama for heeding coach Nandwa’s call to report to training it takes a man to think ahead .. arrogance is not for professionals, remember in Africa young people are advised to respect elders..Nandwa is not just an elder to you but a teacher who will train and bless you at the same time.
Next time report to camp again when you are invited but with permission from the club. Good luck kaka.
Nandwa is completely useless. Apparently he accosted Rama and ordered him to report to the training field. This was in complete disregard of the arrangment that Gor Mahia had with FKF. A playing nursing an injury should not be playing 3 times in one week. Nandwa is probably an AFC supporter so he wants Rama to be injury prone. Bhure ghabisa.
this friendly being organized haphazardly are one of the reasons we are being ranked number 125 and its business as usual for these hungry officials who only think of how much shall they get into their pockets.High time that soccer be managed by the elite former soccer players but not failed businessmen who are only interested in minting money out of footballers.FKF is another nickname of FKL,only that clothes have been changed but character the same.thieves in football
FKF is broke they need to raise funds to sustain their staying in the office. recently they hurriedly organised a SGM to ratify what they call a constitution then slapped an indefinate ban on Shikanda and Shollei for exposing the dirt in the federation. They want Mzalendo Kibunja to shield them from customers who are demanding quality on what they offer in the market. We have released players before and at one time we used to dominate H/S but right procedures had to be followed. I remember Whenever Re Union wanted Mathews “Ottamax” Owino to play for them in the league while he was a student at Kangaru School-Embu they could inform the school administration early in advance just to ensure that the student is free and not involved in an exam or any other activity and to secure his release and this also applys to Rama his well being is very important. I’m bitter because i happened to have worked in Luanda Emuhaya constituency and i happened to have bumped on the late Oyiela (RIP) and what i saw was shocking it was not the Oyiela i knew they played with Ali Timani who was a close Friend of Mine while i was in Mombasa thats how i came to know him. Oyiela died a miserable death mind you he was in the volcano team which was a pro team by then. Its high time we protect our players from these hyenas.Otherwise we might end without role models in football but miserable football retirees
thats nice move coach for every move there must be respect , $ the right protocol to follow rama is ur boy there should be respect , they should know the rules $ regulations of a coach to his players
@Ochigah: What happened to Oyiela ? I have heard that his life was miserable but I have never heard any details.
those wishing to travel to nakuru from embakasi area we still have places for more people please call0729062782 the fare is ksh.700 complete with drop off to your homes the coach was right to deny rama a chance to join this uselessly assembled team by beating Botswana which boasted of only one international does not make Kenya abetter team remember Botswana has a population of like 5m and with a weaker league than ours
I’m very much disappointed with Chemelil Fc for switching the match to Nakuru this has denied the people of Muhoroni to show case their hospitability to visitors, Business opportunities, a chance to mingle around with one of our own Captain Jerry i remember i scored a penalty when we played against his team at Nyang’oma pry school after we had tied during the 90 minutes play time in Ojukwu cup which we eventually won by beating Awasi fc which used to be coached by Tairus Omondi (RIP). The fans would have had an opportunity see the Nandi Hills, the great terrain of Muhoroni and a chance to chew the raw Sugarcane. WHY Chemelil Fc Why and the other day you hosted afc in Chemeli Why not GM. It looks like you value money than your home based fans A BIG THANK YOU
‘Gor Mahia vice chairman Faiz Ochieng has rubbished claims by a cross section of the team’s fans that the coach Zdravko Logarusic has been fired in the wake of a controversy that arose between the Croatian tactician and the club’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mr. Fred Odera.’ – futaa.com
Is something cooking? By the way what happened to the official site? SGM please inform us who thought that our thirst for GM info would be quenched
Is there something that we do not know? Then we need to know it quickly. Why is our EC so much in to technical, what interest do they have? I personally do not want to see what the coach has built over the last three months being pulled down by visionless officials. For once why don’t we emulate Ingwe.Their coach has free hand totally. I would also call upon our sponsors to find ways of dealing with technical and playing unit direct. I am disgusted, this coach is soon leaving, watch this space.
Plz officials leave the coach alone he didnt come to coach officials but he came to coach players.Coach stay put I am behind u.
i hope thinngs will be ok by the end of the day and it wnt affect our playing system that we have employed. My prayer is that we maintain the tempo but not demorolyse our players and technical bench. EC wake up and do whats right at the right time. Thank you.
at GM it seems we r not seriouse. The EC should leave the technical matters alone to those who are writen there. give these coach his is free time with the players, he knows what he is doing. remember Jack johnson and len julians there war no interference. we went far.
thiz a 1 man team.akuna penye mnaenda
thank u for the win against chemelil for Imbem & Teddy wish you quick recovery
Thank you for the report, this site has been so silent about today’s game… What was the score line?
We beat Chemelil but we played a very disjointed game.I am wondering why our midfield is always outplayed and outthought.Njuguna lacked the creativity he exhibited in the match against Stima.Tedddy played the ”spoilers” role competently untill he limped off.Nick Auma was AWOL.Comrades, midfield is the engineroom where attacks are launched and defence orchastrated. If we do not improve on this department, then,I am afraid for my Kogalo.
The Sunday match made such a depressing viewing.I want hope that there will be an improvement when we meet City next. The three points are important-though- but it matters how you win.The bench thats food for thought.
@ 29,jst to confirm to u that we have won 1-0 through Anguyo.
Thank you very much. Congratulations to the boys!!
