Proposal by Sportpesa could end strikes

Gor Mahia sponsors, Sportpesa could start paying player salaries directly according to a report from goal.com,. Despite a generous sponsorship package, both Gor Mahia and AFC have often paid their players and staff late resulting in embarrasing situations where players are thrown out of their homes for lack of rent. The management of noth clubs has proven incapable of managing funds properly.

SportsPesa are contemplating wiring the players’ salaries directly into their respective accounts

The perennial players’ boycott at Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards could be a thing of the past if plans by both teams’ sponsor are implemented.

Gor and AFC signed a three-year deal with SportPesa worth Sh198.6 million and Sh156.4 million, respectively, but the two teams have to struggle to remit players’ salaries on time, something that has often escalated into strikes by the players.

But the gaming company has devised plans to end the bad publicity with SportsPesa CEO Ronald Karauri saying that they are contemplating wiring the players’ salaries directly into their respective accounts by January 2019.

This will be the right move as officials of both clubs have all failed to provide leadership.

    Corruption wins again.
So what will sportpesa do about bonuses.
The idea is to deal with corruption head-on. Sportpesa should have withdrawn sponsorship until these EC officials get the message. They have instead chosen ” to move the river”.

@Dinga, this is very poor advise indeed. Will you pay players? We need away forward for taking care of the welfare of players and the net should be spread to gate collection as well. If we can sort out the menace at managing our financial resources, then everyone at the club will be happy. This will also be a step toward professionalism of the club.

@Dinga your comment is very misadvised and in bad taste. The welfare of GM as a team is our primary concern and if Sportpesa withdrew sponsorship the team would seriously suffer and not even honour Caf assignment. Of what benefit would that be to us in the guise of teaching EC “a lesson”. Paying players directly will solve our perrenial salary challenges of boycotts and go-slows…

Bwana Karauri, this a good idea. An even better idea is to have both AFC and Gor use an accounting firm such as PWC, Deloite and Touche e.t.c to Manage ALL the finances from salary payment to gate collection. Just idea bwana mkubwa.

@George the understanding is we let new Foreign Coach who is to be hired and unveiled next week come have a look at the overall players in his disposal b4 recommending those to be further released and loaned out. Ofcourse Jakoyo’s doctored list can’t work but i can say it will be the following…

    1. Stephen Okiro-Release
    2. Alpha Onyango-Loan Out
    3. Eliud Lokuwam-Loan Out
    4. Karim Nizigimana-Contract Extension or Release
    5. Raphael Asudi-Loan Out

It also seems too late for anything to be done on the Goalkeeping Department which is our greatest Waterloo

Tuyisenge’s impending move has not been officially communicated to the club by any would be suitors just his agent on social media so for now we treat them as rumuors but have a back up plan in the Togolese. If nothing materializes and Tuyisenge stays the striker go South Or North Africa i have contacts to get him a team asap…Let’s wait and see how things unfold
