Relief in Gor Mahia camp

There was a palpable sense of relief amongst Kogalo fans and players at the rain soaked Nairobi City stadium on Sunday after the win over Batoto ba Mungu aka Bana ba Nzambi.

No one epitomized that sense of relief more than Baldwin Ngwa who burst into tears after the final whistle. It was a long time coming for the players who have been working extremely hard and playing their best yet the results have not been forthcoming. Luck has not been on their side. Jerim Onyango too was extremely pleased. He played well in Sunday but on at least two occasions had howlers which could have easily turned the tide.

After the match, Coach Logarusic punched the air with both hands. He later told the media that his players deserved it because they worked harder than Sofapaka. His opposite number, Salim Ali feels that Sofapaka were cheated by the referee. Welcome to the club Bwana Ali. This is KPL and the referees are second rate.

The fans deserve three cheers for not giving up on the team. They defied the rain to show up in large numbers, thus raising close to ksh 1 million.

Now see! One win and all is well. Lets be honest. Sofa missed FOUR open sitters and we are still shy in front of goal. Baldin Ngwa crying? He should be banging in goals as he had promised. Kwani, he had won premiership on the last day? Cry baby, wake up and score goals. With due respect, Jerim Onyango cannot play on big stage. He commits too many mistakes, Ivo or Kasaya are more stable. We have managed only 5 goals in 10 matches. For real we got a few players showing glimpses of this big club but I believe the rest can emulate them cos every team got to have leaders. But am happy they have registered a morale boosting win.

  • @jakoyo no1,there is no much relief, but atleast the win released the pressure considerably.Going into the subsequent matches, the win, though hard fought, gives us renewed vigour,a sense of belief and also boosts our morale.I also agree with you that we should not rest on our laurels, and that work has just began.
    Lets’ all keep the faith.

  • Salim Ali feels that Sofapaka were cheated by the referee(see above). Infact the ref did him a favour by not giving a card for the player handling a goal bound ball.

I was myself relieved when I saw the ball in the net after missing some important penalties in the past. Sofapaka were hard on us in the second half but we prevailed and that is the good thing about it.

I know Ulinzi are are always our toughest opponents but lets hope for the best as we surport the lads.

Guys, We have a good coach from what I saw on sunday.

I am proud of this this Team.

Ati Ngwa crying? Ha ha ha. Cry Baby. What had he won? Score goals as you had promised. Lets be honest. Sofa missed FOUR SITTERS and we would have been taken to cleaners and contributions here would be so different. Lets support the boys and encourage them. This team is not yet up there with the pace setters. Only a paltry of 5 goals in 10 matches? Lets up our game.

  • SHOULD GOR MAHIA HAVE A BOARD NOT AN EC?

Allow me to suggest that the way forward may be for GM to be run by an elected board as the top most organ.
1.GM elections should only be to elect board members who will be policy makers & non-executive.They will be responsible for strategic planning.Nine would be a good figure.
2.It is for the elected board members to then chose their chairperson and vice chair. This would eliminate junior and senior officials as all members would be equal particularly when seeking elections.
3.Most of our current problems in my view stem from the fact that the elected EC members are also responsible for the day to day running of the club with all the risks that this entails.

I say this because I fail to understand why we need 3 vice chairmen,a secretary general,a deputy secretary general, an organizing secretary and a deputy organizing secretary general.

Just thinking aloud, What say you fellow bloggers

Salim Ali you should stop passing the back to the referee. Why cry foul and yet you agree that you dominated the second half but albeit the lady luck was not on your side. Duncan failed to hold on to the ball and allowed kevo ” Daddy” to rob him the ball easily.

Your defender Asike was not wise enough to judge that Duncan Ochieng had punched the ball away from the goal line and instead opted to dive and use his hands to block the ball. As a matter of fact Asike was lucky not to be given a card.

SoNy used the same strategy to silence your star – Star studded outfit and you did not cry foul during super 8 at NYAYO STADIUM . Beating SOFAPAKA is as simple as taking care of Humphrey Mieno and the deal is over. PERIOD!

  • ok so the ref was ‘good’. wonder what could have happened if it was the other way. anyway. my post is to congratulate the boys. i think the croat is a good deal for gor, but he should find out whats affecting the players’ morale b4 removing the firing gun. but clearly some players need to go… its my belief this coach will make or brake KENYAN soccer. my analysis comes from the gor el mereik (sudan) nyayo match. what appalled me was how the sudan club easily accessed the gor goalmouth and its only for the blunders they would have scored 4 more goals. the croat hence can uplift the gor game which will affect the kenyan game in general. i hope these gor players can wake up. its really annoying to see players waste chances just coz of showing off. something i call the ‘jamal syndrome’.its good the coach has come with the no-nonsense approach so i wish him the best. EC put ur hse in order and let the tech bench be a corrupt free zone. adidas guys wacheni mawe home, the club is really suffering, its really contemptious that a sony muhoroni game is on supersport and gor one sees zero. so even if you brag that ur a big club. realise ur not barcelona. pls look at messi’s pay alone then try out how many times it can fund kogalo. the players need the tv to sell themselves so stop removing food from the players mouth out of blind arrogance and stupidity.GO K’OGALO GO…

We should also welcome Austin Makamu in the fold. Let’s all try to be patient. I know it’s not a virtue that GM fans have, but it doesn’t hurt to try to be so.

Very good ndugu Mwakio, but who will bell the Cat? Will the current set up give a hearing to these proposals.

Remember to some you are a green horn!

If you want to understand what i’m talking about, kindly attend next elections and you will pray that the ‘Wenyewe’ syndrome be meant to mean something better than the plain meaning.

Who will bell the CAT? The stadia promise if anything is already given by the current EC.

Sometimes i tend to think these people know all these i just wonder why they are not implemented.

And I am still insisting that as much as the so called PAREYIO 09 and Kosero of this blog consistently intimidates and undermines your candidature I will always be there for you when it comes to electing individuals with professional background to run GM affairs.

@Agwa KASSAM the answer is simply clarified on your post 19 after digesting comrade ODUOR 12 @ post 14. It upon US to make painful decisions and push for constitutional changes within GM that reflects on the changing times and business dynamic in modern football.

Just wait our competitor will snatch all this ideas and implement them gradually. In fact we blog with them unknowingly. Did comrade waxme telll that we are faceless! It’s true ! And do you recall comrade Bare Foot Bandit managed to identify a SHEMALE that has been acting as a mole.

  • @Agwa Kassam and @OGANGO TRAILER, I think as stakeholders, it is our duty to tell them (EC) to consider what can be done immediately, medium term and long term for the club to move forward.

Gor Mahia is a big household name in Kenya and proposals are aimed at turning our club to a multi-bllion business that will also employ many people and improve the living standard of all key and critical stakeholders.

  • From futaa.com Gor Mahia set for a big defensive signing in June

Defender of the year Pascal Ochieng may join Gor Mahia
(Photo: (/futaa.com)) Eleventh placed Gor Mahia’s false start to the league may be winding off after the morale boosting win over second placed Sofapaka, and now some more good news is that a defensive rock could be headed to the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) giants.

    Pascal probability

The 12 time champions seem to be the likeliest destination for the currently unattached Kenyan international defender Pascal Ochieng after he left Rangers FC earlier in the month.

The former Rangers captain, in an exclusive interview with futaa.com, however said it is not yet a done deal as negotiations are still ongoing but said he may be joining the club in the June transfer window.

    Likeliest destination

-It is still not clear as to where I will be heading after leaving Rangers FC but Gor Mahia looks like the likeliest destination, however, not everything is sealed. With time I can be able to give a more definite answer to that because at the moment I am in negotiations with them. If all goes well, I could be wearing the green jersey in June, he said.

The defender, however, did not say if he was in talks with other clubs.
    ———————————
Message from futaa.com. Hope we handle this in a more sober way. Let us keep away as fans and let the EC and Tech bench handle it. Last time we ‘pushed’ them to perform some recruitments only to disown the same when things didn’t go our way

I am still on celebration mood after our second win during the weekend when overun Sote Kama Familia Pamoja Kufikia Azimio ( sofapaka) wth one goal to naught.

It is true the boys played their hearts out and no wonder Ngwa, shed a tear of joy at the end of match to celebrate the victory that was hard to come. The emotional celebration by Nqwa disapproves those who had been doubting the commitment of players to this club. Whilst I applaud those who braced the heavy downpour to watch the match, I am yet to see such emotional celebration from fans.

Finally, I have no problem when comrades refer me as ‘OLe’. What Idont want is a situation where i will be marginalized by virtue of where i come from. I am a bona fide member of this great club with equal rights and priviledges. I am at K’Ogallo by choice and will try as much as possible to contribute to the overall vision of the club.
