The club official claimed he had to use his own money to enable the team to receive the new uniforms that were launched on Friday

Gor Mahia secretary-general Sam Ochola has revealed he had to dig into his pockets in order to secure the release of the club’s 2020-21 Macron jerseys.

The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League side launched the new colours on Friday ahead of the season-opening game against Ulinzi Stars.

Ochola, who is not seeing eye-to-eye with chairman Ambrose over the StarTimes broadcasting deal, has now revealed the new jerseys were released after it had been withheld due to pending payment.

“How can the kits land in Kenya and the chairman is not aware?” Ochola asked during an interview with Goal. “The kits had been held and I had to clear some money in order for them to be realised.

“I offered to give out a bit of my money in order for them to be cleared finally.”

The official claimed the treasurer Dolfina Adhiambo had targeted to sell the kits through a shop in Nairobi, a decision he opposed and was ultimately shelved.

“You know she had opened a shop in town where she wanted to sell the merchandise but I said no to that. The fans can now get them through Jumia [an online shop],” he concluded.

Ochola’s comments come after the former secretary-general Ben Omondi claimed the Macron jerseys are fake and urged the club’s supporters not to purchase them.

“The Macron kits being paraded are fake, stop wasting your money buying them,” he claimed as new revelations over the home and away kits are coming out.

Omondi also stated he will soon reveal more about bank accounts that are run by what he referred to as “cartels”.

“I have so far flagged off the National Bank, ABSA and ADB accounts operated by cartels and more to come. I did my job as given by you the people through the ballot. Where did I err then?” he asked.

Gor Mahia started their FKF PL 2020-21 campaign with a hard-fought 1-0 win against Ulinzi Stars on Saturday.

As the top management remains embroiled in administrative conflicts, the team ensured they saw off APR of Rwanda in the Caf Champions League to progress to the first round.

Roberto Oliveira has gone home for good

Meanwhile Gor Mahia have severed ties with Brazilian Roberto Goncalves after he was ruled ineligible to stand on the touchline in CAF matches.

“The coach left early this week, right now we are still looking for a replacement because there is no use of having a coach who has no papers,” Ochola told Goal on Saturday.

“We have to save money for Gor Mahia and we cannot keep on having a foreign coach who does not have papers trying to coach the club, so we have told him to go home and when he gets his papers he can come back, but for now we are trying to engage Sammy ’Pamzo’ Omollo until things are sorted out.”

Asked whether they are working to engage Omollo for continental assignment only or on a full-time basis, Ochola said: “We are talking to him [Pamzo], to help us in continental and we are also seeking to have him on a full-time basis.”

The 60-year-old tactician arrived at the Kenyan champions on October 10, replacing Steven Polack, who had left the club on mutual agreement.

However, despite preparing the team in readiness for Caf Champions League and the resumption of the FKF Premier League, Oliveira, who has 25 years of coaching experience and has been to a number of African countries as head coach, even in the Middle East as well as Brazil, was banned by Caf from sitting on the touchline over his qualifications.

The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) also moved to ban the coach from handling the team in the top-flight and it forced Gor Mahia to hire Omollo of Posta Rangers, and he was in charge as they beat APR of Rwanda 4-3 on aggregate to advance to the second preliminary round of the Champions League.

Oliveira was on record to have defended himself over the allegations by stating: “Listen I don’t talk this about this story, but I prefer to talk about my players and my preparations and because two years or three years ago, I work in the Champions League with Rayon Sports in Rwanda,” Oliveira told reporters after the team’s friendly against Posta Rangers.

Methinks SG Sam Ochola is “a sober voice of one crying in the wilderness”.

    1) How can jerseys worn by the players and sold by the club with the money going into the club’s paybill be fake?
    2) This Dolfina is either incompetent or is all out to personally benefit from her position.
    I) She opened her own new paybill to sell Gor hoodies/ merchandise ignoring the club’s official paybill.
II) She produces cooked financial statements that omit a whooping shs.30.5 million income,
III) She has not come clean why she is not a signatory to Gor bank accounts, what bank balance did she inherit? Remember Rachier and Wasuna have been officials for a combined 18 years so they have all the records.
IV) Now she has opened her own shop to sell replicas.

Let’s support Sam Ochola for Gor Mahia to move to the next level. Gor Mahia not a one man show, we must put players first.
Officials are elected to guide the club in winning trophies, Gor Mahia has dominated the local league, we must conquer CAF.
Why are officials fighting when the objective is simple and clear.

I don’t support your way of thinking. In Gor we don’t need:
      1. Propaganist
      2. Let him tell us where he deposited 3m
      3. What did he do with the money?
      4. What happened with his 48 hrs
      5. How can someone secure a loan using a different name.
      6. Is using his money to clear the release of uniform something new? Rachier gave 75k and Wasuna gave about 165k, did they come on top of the roof shouting?
      7. I had hope in you but i feel you are a disgrace to the club.
      8. How can you sign a deal of 100k per month to the club?.
      9. Last,we as fans we need cohesion in office. If there’s something wrong, sort it during your EC meeting and when you come out, you have collective responsibility. Even in you home, you normally disagree, do you go out shouting? As officials, you need to style up otherwise you are talking the to the dogs.

My friend the kes.3m was deposited by FKF into a Gor Mahia club account.

If Dolfina as the treasurer hasn’t received it then why hasn’t she said so?

May be the defacto treasurer, Ronald Ngala, who is still a signatory to all GMFC accounts is better placed to answer.
Kindly it’s only fair to address financial queries to the de jure and de facto treasurers not the SG.

In Gor Mahia, we don’t need:
    1. Propaganist
    2. Explain to us where you took 3m from FKF
    3. Securing release of uniform is not something new. Why be on top of the roof shouting?
    4. Somebody signing the deal for 100k per month which cannot pay even players allowance for the month.
    5. Aperson who can’t hold his ego, pride and have collective responsibility.
    6. If such people, then we are taking this great club the dogs.

You see what Ochola has exposed us to? Mwendwa has banned the press coverage. What does it mean, there will be poor officiating according to his instructions the way it happened between Bandari and City Stars. Gor in problem this and let us expect bias officiating with instructions from Mwendwa, just because of Ochola and Nyangi. I will be vindicated soon. Ochola and Nyangi are sell out, they like cheap money, no integrity.
