TM Ouna blasts “biased” referee

Ouna pictured here in the orange shirt

Gor Mahia team manager Frank Ouna has criticized the match referee for biased officiating during the Africa Champions league second leg match against US Bitam on Sunday. He condemned what he deemed as biased officiating that saw the referee flash two red cards at Gor Mahia, award US Bitam two penalties and flash several yellow cards at Gor Mahia players.

The match referee was Jerry Yekeh from Liberia

“This was the best of the worst refereeing witnessed in Africa. But I must appreciate the character and mental strength displayed by the boys. Despite facing open biased officiating they remained composed and fought hard to maintain the score line.”.

“I was also given matching orders for protesting a deliberate act by the referee to keep Jared Obwoge out of play for a long time after he had been stretchered off the field. We were less on the field of play and for the referee to ignore Obwoge on the touchline was way calculated to give Bitam advantage.” Ouna told michezoafrika.com.tb

Blatantly biased officiating has been common in African football since the 1960s but especially in North Africa and West Africa. Referees are often compromised with bribes and arrive at a matchday venue with a fixed mind.

Gor Mahia play City Stars on Thursday

Gor Mahia will kick off the defence of the Tusker premier league on Thursday against Nairobi City Stars. According to the KPL website, the match will start at 15:00 and will be played at City Stadium.

Fans will be hoping that team will have found ways to end their scoring drought. With a forwardline that has Sserunkuma, Oboya, Blackberry and Rama Salim, fireworks were expected. Said fireworks have not materialized yet as the coach Williamson is still looking for the right combinations.

Ooh Laa La..!! “JOB WEEL DONE..BIG UPS TB,EC&PLAYERS”

Let us dwell on the positives from the BITAM encounter.
    1. Team selections and game plan was good.
Started off with defensive approach and finished with attack-minded wingers. KUDOS to BW & JBO.

    2. Penalty shoot out has brought the best out of Jerry ja-goal. KUDOS to IDDI the goalkeeping trainer.

    3. We have maiden goals from Walusumbi, Shakava & Mutiso from the SPOT kicks. This shows that our penalty takers are both offensive and defensive players.

    4. That our players performed wonders away from home is
is a loud and clear statement that we ready for continental championship this time round.

    5. Lastly I can not fail to mention our aggressive, fanatical , dedicated and loyal and fan base on this site.

I still believe Jakoyo is one of us, but I do not know what has gone wrong with him of late. Pengine ni hii BARIDI and may be if the weather turns to warmer temperatures then definitely his condition will improve as he will re-discover his mental status.

    @JAKOYO “Kusema na Kutenda”.. JA-JUOK, JA-CHIEN, JA-KOYO, JA-TOK K’ODERA AKANG’O.. Please REFORM NOW…!!

As we settle from the BITAM test below is creme-de-la-creme of Africa football pairing and what is potentially in store for us. This is good for our players to dream big and I can see some of them getting those lucrative contracts due to the exposure.I can see teams like Horoya, Zamalek, TP Mazembe, Raja, Nkana Red Devils etc some of which we used to compete with regularly. The boys might need some psyching to start believing that they are where we used to belong.

Young Africans (Tanzania) – Al Ahly (Egypt)
Berekum Chelsea (Ghana) – Ahli Benghazi (Libya)
Gor Mahia (Kenya) – Esperance (Tunisia)
Enyimba (Nigeria) – AS Real (Mali)
Astres de Douala (Cameroon) – TP Mazembe (DR Congo)
    B.Y.C (Liberia) – Sewe Sport (Cote d’Ivoire)
Dedebit (Ethiopia) – CS Sfaxien (Tunisia)
Horoya (Guinea) – Raja Casablanca (Morocco)
Flambeau de l’Est (Burundi) – Coton Sport (Cameroon)
Entente Setif (Algeria) – ASFA Yennenga (Burkina Faso)
Stade Malien (Mali) – El Hilal (Sudan)
AC Leopards (Congo) – Primeiro de Agosto (Angola)
Kaizer Chiefs (South Africa) – Liga Muçulmana (Mozambique)
Dynamos FC (Zimbabwe) – AS Vita Club (DR Congo)
    Zamalek (Egypt) – Kabuscorp (Angola)
Nkana (Zambia) – Kampala City Council (Uganda)

TM don’t even waste your breath. It was obvious that the shameless chicken’s droppings from West Africa would not shy away from what they are very well known for. Anyway, they learnt their lesson.

Guys Jakoyo was impersonated. A true Gor Mahia fan would not refer to Mapunda as “Malinda”. A true K’Ogalo follower would not post the kind of nonsense we read yesterday. Jakie, come out and clear your name otherwise Benson Disi shall have achieved his objective.

  • They try to frustrate Gor Mahia, a typical behaviour of West and North African teams, but we came out champions. Congrats to the entire Gor Mahia team for representing Kenya well and making us proud. May God Bless Gor Mahia. I believe you can lift the CAF cup…one match at a time !!!

Good Luck in National and Continental matches!!

Is the team back?Let me share in joy of seeing Kogalo through to the next round. It was a tensed evening for fans except jakoyobaa. Its great we have unmasked this masquerader. He is Benson Disi.Comrades,we have a good squad and a capable technical bench.Let’s allow them to do the job they recruited for.I know how painful it is sometimes it is,to watch our beloved Kogalo struggle or even lose matches they should easily win.A case in point is the Sofapaka game. This should not be a reason to discredit the TB.This squad is the best we have had in along time.Once you are in a movement you are part of the team.In movements sometimes we don’t arrive.Sometimes the journey is the destination, therefore, let’s enjoy the road.Although I want Kogalo to win every match,I have primed myself to the reality that there are big wins, unpredictable draws and painful loses awaiting me.Because I am part of the movement,my support for the team will remain steadfast and irrevocable. Finally, the treasurer made it official that Kogalo will have no sponsor at the end of March. He said(at an interview in Radio Ramogi)that any one willing to support Gor financially can use this paybill number:350100,account(write your name as the contributor)This is what we have been asking for.It is time to walk that talk brothers and sisters on this blog.Lets contribute to save our beloved club.Mwakio,Dan,bb,jabilo, erico,p mawego…..everyone lets mobilize fans and contribute to this worthy cause.I commit to send 5000 every month.God bless you all.God bless my beloved Kogalo.

be reasonable on this biased ref comments. you should all realise that the ref standards in Kenya are some of the lowest in the world. alot of what passes in the the KPL matches as normal tackles are in actual facts acts of violence. the tackling in our matches is rough and that is why our players find it rough when they go out. all of a sudden they find themselves being booked for carrying out ‘NORMAL kenyan’ tackles. i do not think that the ref was biased at all. it’s the kenyan refs who should up there game.

It is now BIYIK’s turn to swallow his words in Gabon.

” Following their CAF Champions league loss to Gor Mahia, pressure continues to mount on US Bitam coach,Omam Biyik with fans calling for his sacking. Bitam lies bottom of the Gabon National league, with 0 points. A home advantage and a red card to Gor Mahia did not favour Bitam on Sunday, condemning coach Omam …!!!”

@Dinga, because you were at Gabon watching the team live i will give you a benefit of doubt for upholding the ref’s performance.

Truly the tech bench too needs to diagnose the goal drought, its not fair to keep changing personnel for the same results!

The reason as to why bloggers at time discouraged suggestions on fielding was because some fans ended up abusing their unfavorite players fielded by the TB and at one time ‘Gattuso’ began behaving as if GM was him and vice versa just because he was the fans favourite a tendency that sent him to the dust bin of football.

Otherwise i believe BW and JBO together with their colleagues in the bench with continue building a team to strongly face Africa. So many bloggers still believe together with me that the clash with Esperance is not a concluded matter but an equal struggle for both sides.

If i may ask, honestly why do we play week day matches at 1500hrs?

Couldn’t we have them played at 16:30hrs to reap more from gate takings and enable more fans attend?

Why do we appear so blunt in handling obvious issues? Year in and out and its the same arrangement.
