Williamson satisfied with result
Coach Bobby Williamson has expressed his satisfaction with the 2-0 win over Western Stima at Afraha stadium. He however thinks the scoreline would have been better had Gor Mahia capitalized on their possession.
“We started the game well since we were in control and we should have scored a goal in the early minutes through Otieno but his shot went over the bar, but it’s a good sign he showed that he can score goals in future.
Coach Williamson also praised debutant Timothy Otieno for his effort on the field.
“Otieno is the kind of strikers that I like because he is hard working unlike Dan Sserunkuma who doesn’t work hard but scores but I like forwards who gets their reward through working hard.
Coach Henry Omino of Western Stima for his part admitted that he lost to the better side. “Gor have changed their tactics where they played long balls, we contained them well and had the game until the second-half where we failed to head the ball away and they got the opener which brought them back to the game. I have to do something and hope we win our next match,”
David Owino named man of the match
Gor Mahia vice skipper David Owino “Calabar” was named the man of the match. After the game he
“Stima is a very strong side and we had to prepare very hard to beat them. We also managed to emerge stronger than them and finally win” said Owino to futaa.com
Collins Okoth “Gattuso” also had a solid game in his second match since he returned.
Standings
It was Gor Mahia’s first win in six games. The win took Gor Mahia back to the top of the standings after Tusker went down to SoNy Sugar. Coach Williamson however declared that its too early to worry about the league standings.
“I don’t look at the table since its too early instead I look at the performances and how we are doing of which we have not been playing badly, as long as we don’t lose and draw many games I will be happy and try to stay at the top for our fans,” Williamson stated after the win.
Every team must have a blip. I pray that our blip has come and gone and that we have recovered. The teams below will also have a blip so people must cool down
Congratulations to the boys for a great win at Afraha.
This brings back sweet memories of my youth watching the Mighty Gor playing in epic battles against Nakuru All Stars,KFA and Abeingo in Nakuru.
Gor ni timu kubwa! There will a few lows and heartaches but many moments of glory and great triumph.
Kogalo for ever!
As we celebrate our win let’s pray for our shemejis as things are not good at the den. Wanyonyi has allegedly cancelled his contract after being given a bouncing cheque and his dad almost arrested. He is accusing the club of having mislead him to leave his former club and has been AWOL for the last two weeks. The fans have also descended on their players and EC after the Mathare loss.
Back to our beloved Gor, let’s continue giving our umatched support as from this week’s results we can see that the league is gonna be tougher than last year’s
I still believe AFC is smart enough not to issue cheque and let it bounce. The consequences under the Kenyan law is massive. We should however not celebrate our brother Wanyonyi’s predicaments if the reports are anything to go with. I however doubt the reports but stand to be corrected. Let us also not be happy when AFC players go for the players and EC because we at Gor are even more vulnerable. Don’t rejoice when your brother’s house is troubled but pray for them and offer them any support you can
hakuna!!!results budaa.with all thoz names field na tb,alafu result onge.sasa ng’oa Ec yote out.”okoa afc”
Wanyonyi should have consulted widely putting his career first instead of money but unfortunately he opted for the latter. l fear the career of this young boy is under jeopardy but also his parents have got a hand in his tribulations simply because of reasoning along tribal line and not career growtthwise. It will be a tall order for him to rediscover his form given that he will be out in second leg.Pole sana ndugu.
AFC wasted Masika,Patillah and now Wanyonyi it‘s a Big shame to sign players simply because he‘s playing for your opponents only for you to mess their career.
Othwse l appreciate efforts of Kogallo Mayienga players.
i am content, very content indeed
