Ze Maria arrives Friday as Gor Mahia takes on City Stars

Gor Mahia are set for a restart to their season with the arrival of Brazilian tactician Jose Marcelo Ferreira, better known as Ze Maria as confirmed by club official Ronald Ngala

“We have settled on him from a very big pool of applications. We felt he has the best qualifications to take up the job and we believe the club will do well with him. He arrives on Friday at 1.30pm and it will be his call whether or not to be on the bench for the City Stars match,” Ngala said to supersport.

Ze Maria holds a FIFA Pro coaching license. This will assuage the concerns of many fans who think he is underqualified. But only just. He is very short on accomplishments though Ngala seems to think that his CV is impressive.

“We have decided to hire Ferreira because of his impressive CV. We are confident that he is the best coach to take us forward after a rather bad start to the season.” said Ngala to goal.com

For Ngala, Rachier and others, the departure of Nuttall and the arrival of Ze Maria is a relief considering that they were working with a coach with whom they were not on speaking terms. They should however drop their threats to report Nuttall to FIFA considering that it is they who made his work untenable.

For the players who have been in Nuttall’s dog house like Nizigiyimana and Boniface Oluoch, this is also a chance for a new start. The Burundian especially could learn a lot from Ze Maria. Not only does he play the same position as Ze Maria, but the Brazilian was also famous for pin point crosses during his playing days. Those crosses will however need to be at a lower altitude considering that Gor Mahia no longer has tall strikers.

On Saturday Gor Mahia take on City Stars, a side that is coached by Gor Mahia legend Bobby Ogolla. Though Ze Maria is on the bench, he will likely be mostly a keen observer as he will not have held any training sessions with the club.

I believe as fans we know where our place is.
Let Ze Maria do his thing and results will vindicate him. At least they have stopped the routine by leaving out Bobby Williamson.

Gor Mahia is run by gluttons EC focused only on their stomachs rather than the well being of the club.

Fans and bloggers have posted very excellent proposals that can take the club places but AR and his glaton EC have refused to listen and to bring the accountability structures into the club. Gor Mahia has remained a cash cow to many officials including Ngala, Kilo, Ken, Orowe etc.

It is high time the fans push this inept EC for desired changes in the office, instead of seeing few individuals doing things their way. We need to see records of accounts being made public otherwise it is my fear that the sponsors’ money will be looted by this bloated office.

Frank Nuttall should be left alone, and his achievements speaks volumes that can not be denied. Frank left a big mark in our hearts and we as fans will remember him for his splendid performance.

Why concentrate too much on AR and his gang instead of how we win the game against City Stars? At times I think we bring the same intolerance we have in the political field that doesn’t take us far, into the team.
Nuttal , who some of us are ready to die for now is the same person we called inexperienced, PE instructor etc. We need to accept that he is gone and we move on. Maybe he had given his best/all and there was no magic with Gor anymore.

Good brothers,my plea is only one tonight and it reads “Free Jaro Soja”…There is no way Gor Mahia’s most notable fan can be locked up,hooliganism or otherwise I believe passion drives the game of football and no one manifests love for kogalo more than this guy.Kiilo has eaten Gor money illegally the latest being change of derby ticket prices overnight and selling them at 600 vip and 300 terraces while after paying one is still issued with tickets printed 500 vip and 200 terraces.Do this Kiilo type looters think we are fools? He must drop charges against Jaro Soja lest he is trying to bring us the analogy of “Mimi ni mweupe kama pamba” while we know his ilk are building houses upcountry and hawking Gor’s trophies at Governors and MP’s houses to get money ATI “Mheshimiwa okombe ile gor alisinda ndio hii hapa nimefikisa kwako,Paris wachesaji kitu wakule” like the recent useless gatundu tournament that resulted in exactly the above statements being uttered by Kiilo as he took out prized SPL trophy to Moses Kuria’s Gatundu home…

  • When Kagere and abondo left, few complained. It was just time for Nutall to leave because his best strikers were gone. He doesn’t hold a magic wand;he himself wanted to salvage his CV.Nutall was good but Nutall doesn’t play football.Read Mourinho

Start winning today minus Nuttal. He is gone and that is it. Let us enjoy K’Ogalo football life minus HIM now that he is also in different place without us. For me FN departure was a timely divorce that is not only good for both parties but to players too.
