Gor Mahia transfers news June-4

Defender Israel Emuge is set to leave Kogalo along with Jerry Santos and Charles Bruno. This according to a report on supersport.com

Emuge joined Gor Mahia in 2013 from Kira Young of Uganda. He has been solid when he plays but has missed many games. A separate report from goal.com states that Emuge will be going on loan.

Charles Bruno joined from Thika United in 2014. He joined at a time when the squad was thin due to multiple departures. He played well and earned plaudits particularly at last year’s CECAFA cup. But with other defenders joining this year, he has not seen much playing time. Bruno had been a member of the Kenya U17 team and along with fellow Kisumu lad Tony “Balotieno” Nyangor he attended multiple trials in Europe during his teens.

Jerry Santos joined Gor Mahia after having previously played for Tusker and Coastal Union of Tanzania. He first came to the limelight when he played for Dandora Youth in the 2006 Extreme sports Super 8 tournament and was voted the best player in the entire tournament. Having joined Gor Mahia in January, he has scarcely played.

Timothy Otieno who showed a lot of promise last season but has found it difficult to earn playing time this season is said to be headed forĀ  a loan spell, most likely at Muhoroni Youth according to goal.com.

Timothy is a promising striker whom if given time to grow and play often, could turn into one of the best strikers in the league. Good of Gor Mahia to send him on loan.

Others who are set to leave include Taofiq Zachary, the Ghanaian striker who was found to be surplus to requirements. He showed some flashes of brilliance during pre-season friendlies. But with the number of allowable foreigners limited, coach Nuttall opted to take Emuge over Taofiq.

It is not clear what will happen with Sserunkuma as coach Nuttall has not made up his mind despite stating that he wants to sign an additional striker.

“The chairman wants Sserunkuma to join Gor Mahia. The coach has requested for time before making a decision on that. He does not want destabilize the current squad,” our source informed us.

“As it is, Sserunkuma will join us because he has severally met with the chairman and even agreed some terms,” said a source to supersport.com

As stated earlier on this blog, adding Sserunkuma even if only for six months will give Gor Mahia more dimensions in attack especially as the club faces a backlog of fixtures starting in July.

Gor Mahia are also said to be negotiating with Paul Were whose stint in South Africa came to an end after his side was relegated. Were hardly played in South Africa and was mostly relegated to the bench.

  • Where is Jerry Jagoal; Where is Erick Ochieng in this list.

There is also another slow defender, left back forgot his name.

We then need a goalie and a midfielder

    • Erick Ochieng must never be released!! imagine if Gatuso/Aucho get injured/suspended???… and games are coming where Gatuso/Aucho will be ineffective… Erick Ochieng is the only central midfielder on the bench… he is better than Wendo (all due respect to Wendo ofcos who is also very good)

Same case you cant offload Jerry Jagoal, it is ill-advised… let Boniface keep improving his game knowing that any less will bring back Jerry to the starting eleven

      • Kibalka, no offence meant but Wendo is twenty times better than Ochieng

  • Sserunkuma must be willing to sign 2 -3 year contract. We must also make money from him as he makes from us. As it is his target is to market himself at CECAFA. Football is business the faster we understand this the better.

    • I would prefer Santos to remain than Ochieng. Bt let TB do their work. God bless K’ogalo

      • While I agree with Muga on letting the TB do their work, Jerry Santos has not featured in most of the games we have played unlike Eric Ochieng who has come in as substitutes in many matches.

Most top tier players do not want long contracts. If GM insists on 3 year contracts, they will not be able to sign big players.

      • The Club is investing alot of money on them but when they leaving Club benefit nothing on them, two years is just ok he can leave before that time matures and this will enable K’Ogalo to get something small na hiyo ni Faida!!

  • First let me say that the current Gor is VERY impressive. But can they match Gor ’83 in goals. That waits to be seen. My beef is with the local(Luo) Gor players also known as ‘wenye Gor’. These guys do not seem to want to improve their game. The vs Thika game was a good pointer. Abondo and goalie have to improve their attitude. B.Oluoch was so busy thinking he is James Bond that he ended up conceding a goal. This guy seems to be a disaster waiting to happen. Even though I praise Abondo that he easily understands and fits into the Nuttal game plan but I think that he does not seem to understand his potential. This guy would now be on goal numb15. Local players have to watch the professionalism the Uganda, Rwanda et Burundi have brought to Gor. These guys simply do not joke and have no time for show off football, something that we have seen destroy K.Omondi et Blackberry play. Blackberry does not even seem to understand the Gor game plan. Winger Wafula et Shakava are players who are greatly intelligent in the pitch. That Shakava goal if you notice did not just happen. It was a well thought plan. I mentioned Gor ’83 with some reason… this team was pure Kenya team. The current Gor team is foreign powered. This basically means that Kenyan soccer is currently down. It is a pity that the coach is left with no option but to carry out substitutions from the 87 minute. I have argued before that it is Gor Mahia that will carry the Kenyan game to greater heights. Kenya should watch that we do not turn into another England. Kenya players must change their attitude while in the pitch. I will mention Olunga as one player who is now showing a persistent killer instinct. The Rwanda, Uganda et Burundi players are true professionals and I would not be supprised if the whole team are fished away by bigger clubs especially after East n Central. Remember this is where Gor got them. Kenya is currently preparing to face Congo, will the story change? I do not think so. Gor is preparing for East and Central, will the story change, I greatly think so. Does Gor have more money than Kenya… No.
Having said all this I would like to congratulate the Gor scouts who brought these players. When the recruitment was done we were all apprehensive and were not sure which side the wind would blow especially after the friendly draws. But when Gor clicked this time has shown how dangerous it is. Every Gor attack is now a potential Goal. But the coach has shown he has ideas that can silence opponents any time. The Gor defence is as tight as the Israel border. I would like to see how the Gor junior team(which is now choosing by how many goals it shall win) is fitting in this Mighty Gor plan.

    • @Dinga, I do not not agree with some of your comments. We should encourage all our players as they are playing as a team. On Abondo, he is the current top scorer in KPL and what attitude are you talking about? Bonny is a very intelligent ball player but caution need to be taken.

    • The list is okay but for I thought it would have been bright idea if Benard Odhiambo should also be given on Loan to afriendly Club like City Star or his former Club so that he can get more playing time rather than sitting on Bench all the time. Benard is still young he should be in a Club where he got more time to play. And to TB, I hate the way they are doing their Subst. like game between GM and Thika United Gattuso work rate was so high that he ren out of Gas, please do substution at around 75 minute not injuries time. Like Wendo has shown some good playing but the time is too short for him to give out what he’s. Come on Guys.

LETS US BE TOLD THE AMOUNT OF MONEY THAT THE CLUB WILL GAIN FROM LOANING TIMOTHY AND THE SALE OF THE LIKES OF OLUOCH,EMUGE,SANTOS,BRUNO AND ZACKARY.I HOPE THIS TYM ROUND IT WONT B FREE AS U HVE SEEN THE NUMBER OF VULTURES WAITING FOR GOR PLAYERS.RACHIER SHOW US PROFFESIONALISM AND TRANSPARENCY ON THIS MATTER.ON GLAY ISSUE I HOPE ITS NOT ALL ABOUT INJURY BUT ITS ALL ABOUT THE NUMBER OF FOREIGN PLAYERS WHO SHOULD BE FIELDED IN KPL GAMES.THE TB SHOULD ALWAYS B FRANK ON THIS ISSUE RATHER THAN CLAIMING OF INJURY.I THIS GLAY WILL ONLY COMMAND FIRST TEAM IF WALUSIMBI IS PUSHED TO LEFT BACK SO AS TO BATTLE WITH SIBOMANA .IF NOT SO THEN U WLL WAIT FOR LONG AND THATS THE TRUTH.

  • Lets leave the responsibility of whom to sign, sell or send on loan to the technical bench since they know whom they deem to be in their plans, hata Arnold Origi amekubali the title is ours to lose,so lets pray that God grants us another win against Tusker on Sato and start our countdown to be declared CHAMPIONS ELECT! God bless Kogallo

  • @ISAACWUOD AGWARA , let us leave the work of substitution to the coach and technical bench. Our mandate as fans is to go and give the team our maximum support. It is our wish to have substitutions done early but our able coach Frank Nuttal knows what is good for the team. Let us not interfere or exert unnecessary pressures on the technical bench. The bottom line is that Gor Mahia is winning and the technical bench should continue with winning all matches.

We have a great coach is which demonstrated by low level of injuries. We should only thank God for the match fitness levels as demonstrated by our players. Injuries normally result from poor training methods and lack of match fitness as you can not exert high pressure on the body to perform. If you exert pressure, there will be more damages from hamstrings, soft tissues, born stress, tendon damages, etc. We can only avoid these by good training methods which we had lacked for many years.

Guys, let’s know that substitution is always a planned thing unless I case of injuries. One thing we should notice is that our players rarely get tired and hence no need to sub due to injuries but as a matter of strategy.
We should also note that most loans do not attract any monetory benefit. in some cases the team loaning the player even chips in ensure the player does not lose their financial benefit by virtue of moving

Since we all love Gor I am imagining that all the bloggers are now members of the SACCO. Otherwise all our great ideas and contributions here cannot bear fruit without financial stability
