Gor Mahia convenes branches meeting to shore up finances

Gor Mahia FC has announced an inter-branches meeting on Sunday 22nd February 2015. The purpose of the meeting will be to deliberate on how to assist the club to meet its financial requirement in the upcoming continental assignment.

All club’ branches leaders are therefore expected to turn up for the meeting on Sunday at 4:00pm on the said date at the club’s offices situated at Nyayo National Stadium, Nairobi, read a statement on the club site.

With players signed, salaries due and continental bills due and sponsors still hard to come by,  Gor Mahia will now need to be creative and competent when it comes to financing the club.

In the 1970s and 1980s, branches played a pivotal role in financing the club. This has fallen by the wayside in recent years especially starting in the Erastus Okul era. Perhaps the club has come to the realization that branches need to be strengthened and incorporated in the day to day running of the club. There will be opportunities for branch leaders to submit their own proposals regarding issues like transparency.

@admn, you are still taking us back to the way things were being done in the 70’s and 80’s.

Omera the world has changed and Kogallo should change with times !!!

  • @jakoyo, there Is absolutely nothing wrong with EC to call a meeting with the branch official, what if they want branch official to start a massive Sacco drive recruitment,Dan12 have been advocating for this, but it has to start from somewhere, what if the the branch official are ask to help identify trouble makers cos they are within our mist, are this not beneficial to the club, I think you are taking your ignorance too far, anyway sorry

Poor Jakoyo probably still thinks there is a sponsor coming. Sorry but that Molo milk story was a hoax. The club has to find ways to finance the club. This is the year 2015 and many top teams even in Europe like Barcelona rely on member subscriptions to help bolster the club. I salute the EC for organizing this meeting. The club needs money.
