Gor Mahia dim City Stars

Gor Mahia continued their recovery when they beat Nairobi City stars 1-0 in a midweek match played on Wednesday. The all important goal came via Moses Otieno in the 71st minute.

Despite being the slightly better team in the first half, Kogalo were unable to break through with a goal. John Kiplagat came close on 17 minutes. 5 minutes later, Moses Odhiambo missed a gilt edged chance. City stars seemed to be the ascendant team in the second half with Dan Sserunnkuma appearing dangerous. That was until Otieno scored against the run of play.

The win was ample revenge for Kogalo who lost by the same margin to the Kawangware based side in the first leg. Gor Mahia are now in 3rd position. Had they not suffered that inexplicable dip in form, they could have been challenging for a double this season.

Congrats to the team, technical bench and fans. It was a very entertaining match and from the flow of the game, those that watched the match saw the usual Kogalo flowing pattern is back that was almost terminated by Zico. It was a passing game and the boys were relaxed during the game. Zico should look for an alternative team as there are many teams struggling that may require his services. We had advised Zico to unite players and play the usual rhythm of Gor Mahia but all these fell into his deaf ears. Let him move on to other clubs that may require mediocre services like what he has done in the recent past by destroying other players’ careers.
On recruitment, Kogalo should urgently consider hiring the services of Dan Sserunnkuma (Ugandan) of City Stars. This lad was a joy to watch throughout the game with his fast speed and pace, excellent ball controls, excellent ball shielding from the opponents and above all his talents. To me and many fans, Dan resembles Blackberry with his excellent runs and ball controls. This is a boy combined with our strikers can cause havoc to any team.

Most difficult n scrappy win,C.stars perhaps gave more than they got, must b the quality of their coach who we let go . However kudos to GM 4 breaking the jinx, the team is showing real character nowadays but lets work on usual culprits-weak attacking midfield, wasted chances. Why r KPL/FKL overloading us with matches, 5 in 2 weeks. Mwalimu also did well at r.back well done AA 4 unearthing these talents.

Good result, let the team now aim at finishing in a respectable position. We have already achieved one target(FKL CUP) and we should be grateful to what the entire team has achieved so far. Dueling too much in the past negatives won’t make any tangible gains towards realizing the long term objectives of K’ogallo. Thank you the whole playing unit, the technical team, tuzo, fans and general well wishers of the mighty Gor

@tom atinda, we learn from the past mistakes to sharpen the future ideals for Kogalo. We must revisit the past in order for the team and the executive committee not to repeat the same misnomers and mistake. By the way, why do we learn history in schools and universities? Why do we refer to historical events? Success is driven by history so that we can achieve better or best results. If past is not discussed, then it will remain business as usual. Atinda note that all new innovations are driven by history or past deliverables. SO WE HAVE TO DUEL IN THE PAST FIRST IN ORDER TO AVOID THE PAST MISTAKES FOR BETTER OR BEST RESULTS IN POSTERITY.

I may suggest that if we get the likes of Agido and Mzee Sianga to nature the Kogalo youth am telling you we will go places. If you watched how City stars were playing they had good ball control and they were enjoying there game but we had to teach them lesson.calling names of Zico and the rest should just stop what we ought to say is something which will help the club to the next level otherwise Mr.ADMIN if you see some articles which dont add up just delete them coz they dont help hence destroy. This is a forum which we should have cohesion and bond together as one family.

  • Happy that we are winning at long last but let’s not forget the lessons learnt when we were squabbling and losing games. At least we have proved that unity is vital for the success of the team. Let’s desist from name-calling as @Ocampo has pointed out. As the GM family we need to consolidate all our resources as going to the next level will require alot of resources. The stone we reject now might be the conerstone in future.

@OT.Hell is full.Get him a seat in heaven. You must change the bad things you think about a person to be able to see the good in them.we can’t condemn anyone for the past since our failure or success was a collective responsibility + many other factors.be good, cheer up and lift high the Almighty Jehovah.

  • I wonder how much it would cost to consult the fans about the team colours! All teams have prefered colours, ManU, Liverpool Red, Everton,Celsea blue etc. That’s what forms the tradition of a team and should be upheld unless we want to do what we did with our playing unit and look where it dropped us. The three colours (blue, white, blue) are enough for us as they have been the team uniform since I knew it, though I last heard they used blue in the 70s and 80s. So are we going to be green army this year, red army the other year and yellow army …
Can’t we be let to finish the league before we embark on the issue of uniforms , coach etc. The price should also be checked as Kshs 2800 during these economic times is a tall order, especially to the majority of fans. Maybe we need different categories of merchandise from say 1000 KSh to maybe 3000Ksh. The moment we are made to choice either GM or fending for our families we all know what we will choose.

Ziko has no job and now can remember there is a K’ogalo ‘the dust bin’ where we receive rejects. we endured ten humiliating games without him and now we are back to our winning ways.he should go and look for a job at ‘watoto wa mungu.

@OT, Gor colours have always been Green, Blue and White. In the 80’s and partly 90’s Gor used to wear the navy blue for thier away matches. Gor were the away team yesterday. I therefore do not see any crime commited by anybody. OT, please take the role of sponsoring GM, then everybody would gladly go to hell with Tuzo. What exactly are you sulking about? I dont quite get!! For God and my club Kogallo.

  • As a marketer, i feel the Tuzo team has no ideas.

We won the FKL Cup and haven’t seen a single advert to congratulate Kogalo as they market their products. Have you seen any? They can’t even pretend to give the players milk as a reward. Yawa! Were they forced to sponsor us?

The Tuzo team is so busy trying to change our jersey colour and yet there are so many opportunities to market themselves. They can repair and brand City stadium. They can sell their products during games. They can dress the divas. They can have a mascot at all our games. They can have Kogalo branded on their milk packs. Gate charges can be lowered so long as you buy a Tuzo product.

Tuzo team, what have you ever done to gain from our partnership since the sponsorship? Do you know how many people are keen Kogalo followers or admirers? Have you thought of Kogalo’s diapora? By diaspora i mean where Gor roots are found.

Why sell a jersey associated with affordable milk at 2,800? Why not get affordable jerseys and have the whole country dressed in Tuzo branding? Why does Tuzo want to give Gor only 10% from jersey sales? The expensive jerseys will only make Tuzo look like an expensive and exclusive drink. Someone is sleeping on the job.

Kogalo followers are free to suggest to Tuzo what else they can do to achieve market growth other than try to take back what they have offered the mighty Kogalo.

What i’ve noticed is that Rachier acts without consulting the fans. If they change the colour of the jersey no one will buy them as is the case currently. Have the blue jersey but don’t do away with green or white. If tuzo doesn’t want its merchandise to sell they can go ahead and change the colours against the fans wishes.

OT i am on your side though i stopped the AR and ZICO clobbering.. i’ve been disturbed too by the sudden change of team colours.

Someone pointed it to me at Nyayo on Wednesday that blue was used many years ago.

But, where is this practice of changing fundamentals with change in sponsorship practiced anywhere else..i will accommodate the fact that away matches attire may vary but were we away during the Sony match? and is the chairman at liberty to do anything with anyone regarding K’ogallo, surely?

Guys, at one time i blamed K’ogalo fans for rejecting the idea of having GM transformed into a private limited Company now we can see what would happen if imperialists are allowed to turn this Community club into a ‘private members only’ entity.

K’OGALO NI MALI YA UMMA AND LETS UNDERSTAND AND LIVE WITH IT!
